| Bellagio | Eating at a Reasonable Price in Bellagio Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 02:06 AM UTC
We are traveling to the Lake Como area (staying in Menaggio) and will want to spend some time in Bellagio. There are six of us and I am picking up the tab. (I am a good parent!) Can anyone recommend some great eateries at a reasonable price? Also, if you are familiar with Menaggio and can answer the same question for that wonderful little town, I would greately appreciate it!

| Bellagio | Varenna or Bellagio? Posted: Tue January 15, 2008 01:39 AM UTC
I was planing to stay in Varenna for 5 days at the beginning of june but am now considering Bellagio. Why? I want a bit of buzz and activity - lots of options for dining. I've read wonderful things about Varenna. Any thoughts either way? Thanks for your time and consideration.

| Bellagio | Bellagio como or elswhere Posted: Tue September 18, 2007 12:53 AM UTC
Hi,
We are planning a trip to the lake Como region and were attracted to Bellagio but it seems that accommodation is booked out far in advance. We are looking for a waterfront hotel or apartment and wonder if Como or elswhere on the lake is as good. Maybe some travellers have experiences that they could pass on. michaeljb |

| Bellagio | Como Ferries Posted: Wed August 22, 2007 08:43 PM UTC
Hi, we are travelling to Bellagio in October. Can you please tell me if there are plenty of ferries leaving from Bellagio to Como in October. We will be trying to get to Como S. Giovanni to catch a train that leaves at around 9:00am. I have looked at the ferry timetables (which I can't really understand anyway) and they do not have a timetable for October. I don't want us to miss our train. Thanks for your help.

| Bellagio | Getting to and from Bellagio Posted: Fri July 27, 2007 05:24 PM UTC
I will be arriving in Bellagio on October 12th. I am planning on taking the train from Florence to Milan and then to Varenna, finally taking the ferry over to Bellagio.
I will be departing Bellagio on October 15th, headed to Venice. I am planning to reversing my route to Milan and then taking a train from Milan to Venice...but I've heard that I can also take a ferry from Bellagio to Como and then just one train from Como to Venice. So I'm kind of torn and unsure of what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've never traveled In Italy via train before...and I'm a bit nervous. Also...do you just drag your luggage on the train with you??? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! |

| Bellagio | Bellagio to Varenna-ferry times Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 02:24 PM UTC
I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am trying to book transportation from Bellagio to Venice for Friday September 28. I am staying in Bellagio and wish to get to Venice by 12-1PM.
I plan to ferry from Bellagio to Varenna Train from Varenna to Milan Train from Milan to Venice Questions??? Does anyone know how long it takes to ferry from Bellagio to Varenna? I found the link below, but I am not sure if it contains arrival times or if I am even reading it right. http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/com/ora/nlc_ora_t1a_e.html I found a train leaving Varenna Esino at 7:25AM, arrives in Milan 8:30AM Then I found a train leaving Milan at 9:05AM and arriving in Venice at 12:09 PM This means my ferry departing from Bellagio needs to arrive in Varenna before 7:25AM to leave me enough time to get there. I see on this schedule that there is a ferry departing Bellagio at 6:20, via Menaggio to Varenna, but I have no idea when it's scheduled to arrive in Varenna. Please help :) |

| Bellagio | Bellagio to Venice - By Hydrofoil and Train Posted: Sat July 7, 2007 06:13 PM UTC
Can anyone help me with understanding the transportation from Bellagio to Como.
If I am reading the schedule correctly, on Friday, September 7 there is a hydorfoil that leaves Bellagio at 11:21 a.m. and arrives in Como at 12:11 p.m. I want to book the train from Como to Venice that leaves at 12:54 p.m. Do you think we will have enough time to get from the Ferry to the Train Station (we will only have about 40 minutes)? The station is Como S. Giovanni I have read that it only takes 15 minutes by taxi from the ferry to the train station. One last question, are the hydrofoils generally on time? Tante Grazie. |

I am traveling to Bellagio from France. Is it better to drive around the lake or take the ferry from Cadenabbia? Also where is it a good and "safe" place to park?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| Bellagio | Milan to Bellagio Posted: Sun January 7, 2007 05:06 PM UTC
How do you get from the Milan train station to our hotel in Bellagio? Is there a train directly from Milan to Bellagio, or do we take the train to Como and then ferry to Bellagio? I am sure there is a simple answer to this common question but this seemed the best place to get it! Thanks for any suggestions.

| Bellagio | Travel from Milan Malpensa airport to Bellagio in the Afternoon Posted: Fri May 26, 2006 10:13 PM UTC
We are traveling to Italy in September, and will be arriving in Milan about 2:45pm. Since our hotel reservations in Milan don't start until the next day, we thought we might go up to Bellagio for the night, and then travel back to Milan the next afternoon. In looking at the boards, there are a number of ways to do this and I am looking for some opinions on the options. We could take the train / ferry. This would mean we would have to take the Malpensa Express to the Central Train station, then take a train to Varenna, then take a ferry from Varenna to Bellagio. Depending on the schedules, this could take us about 4 hours total. Another option would be to hire a car to take us to Bellagio right from the airport. Although this option is much more expensive, it gets us to Bellagio by 5pm. Since we don't have much time in Bellagio, this seems like a better idea. Then we have to get back to Milan the next day. If we use a driver to get there, We can't go back thru Varenna, because I have read there is no ticket machine at that station. So I guess we would have to take the ferry to somewhere else to catch a train back to Milan. Any thoughts on all of this would be appreciated.

| Bellagio | BELLAGIO TO LUGANO SWITZERLAND Posted: Mon September 19, 2005 02:16 AM UTC
I want to take a day trip to Lugano from Bellagio and am having difficulty finding a bus schedule that goes from Menaggio to Lugano in the morning and comes back late in the day or early evening. I did this several years ago--took the ferry to Menaggio and then the bus to Lugano for the day. The Post bus schedule only shows an afternoon departure. Are there other bus lines I could research? Are there agencies that book day tours from either Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna or Como? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are leaving September 29th.

| Bellagio | weather in Bellagio late March Posted: Wed January 26, 2005 07:55 PM UTC
Hello all, my mom's coming to visit me in italy for two weeks in march, the 15th to the 30th, now we have most days already scheduled and hotels reserved, etc....we had two days free the 21st and 22nd, and wanted to take her to Bellagio and Lake Como. Only thing was wondering how is the weather around this time, my mom's from the carribean and doesn't fair too well in cold weather. Other thing is I noticed most hotels in Bellagio are closed in this period, is it because the weather is that crappy?
Any info would be great! |

| Bellagio | Travel From Miilan to Bellagio Posted: Fri September 17, 2004 11:03 PM UTC
Hi All!
My husband & I are meeting in Milan and then going to spend 6 nights in Bellagio at the Hotel Florence. He is in Iraq now and I REALLY want everything to run smoothly for us as we go from Milan to Bellagio. His flight gets in around 4pm on Tues. Oct. 12. I arrive in the morning and will wait for him. What is the easiest route to Bellagio from there? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. This is a very special time for us and a much needed break as we also have a son in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. So thanks in advance! Peggy A.K.A. Bob's Princess |
