Bergamo Looking for apartment to rent in Spring, 2008
Posted: Fri August 17, 2007 08:36 PM UTC
My daughter and I want to live in Bergamo in the spring next year, 2008 (April-May) and would like to connect with someone in Bergamo who knows of available properties- or knows someone in the business of renting properties. It's been nearly impossible to find a detailed list on Google- so I thought I'd start here. I love Bergamo and was there for the 2004 F1 race in Monza- stayed in the Citta Alta- which is where I'd like to stay again (who wouldn't right?).

So details are: mid-April to end of May, citta alta, 1 bedroom apartment/flat. Thanks!!!

Hi, my partner and I will arrive at Orio al Serio airport on the evening of 24 August where we will be collected and taken to our accomodation (I Ghiri on Via Beltrami) We wonder if there are any reasonably priced restaurants/bars/cafés within a short walking distance from I Ghiri?
Thanks.

Bergamo Bergamo to Venice

Hi,
I will be travelling from Bergamo to Venice on the 28th.

Should I reserve the tickets online? or is it easier to just buy it from the railway station before the train departs?

Is the amica fare applicable for foreigners?

Bergamo Left Luggage at Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio)
Posted: Sat May 12, 2007 03:33 PM UTC
Hi,

I am arriving at the airport at 23:50 and I would very much like to leave luggage at the airport. Does anybody know the opening hours of the left luggage office at the airport? Its internet site says 8-24, but I suppose that I might be short of say 5-10 minutes. Does it close somewhat later than midnight?
Also, is there place where man can store valuable items (such as a notebook)? Maybe some lockers?

Thanks for the help.

Bergamo Is there an airport hotel at Bergamo
Posted: Sat May 5, 2007 10:34 PM UTC
Hi
We're arriving at midnight on a Sunday at Bergamo airport, and will be picking up a hire car there the following morning, so is there a hotel on or near the airport? Nothing fancy, but not a dump either. In the UK, I'd go for something like a Travel Lodge.
Any help would be appreciated. Final destination is Bardolino.
Thanks

Bergamo Taxi fares and recommended taxi companies
Posted: Sun April 22, 2007 08:55 AM UTC
We are travelling to Bergamo Airpost with elderly parents and our final destination is Bardolino or Lazise in Lake Garda.

Because we arrive late (23:55pm) and because our parents are older, we want to book a taxi from the airport to take us directly to Lake Garda.

Can anyone recommend some numbers of local taxi companies to call? Any idea how much this might cost us?

Cheers

Bergamo Very need help from someone from Bergamo
Posted: Sun March 18, 2007 10:32 PM UTC
My english is not good, so forgive me please :)
First the problem- my fligh comes at 27 april at 20:30 to Orio al Serio, and I have prepaid hotel in Verona. So I did everything I could for get to know what to do and now I have result like this:
1. It will be fantastic if I can be at Porta Nuova for the train at 20:55 - because the bus at the same 20:35, I can't hope to get from airplane for 5 min and after drive realy 15 min (like they write in internet) and than find a ticket and train in 5 min. So :(
2. Next train wich has show the http://orario.trenitalia.com/
is at 23:10 and arrival at 02:32
And I really afraid to see the closed dors of hotel and spend night at the street.
3. BUT special part from this official web - System Viaggia Treno
http://www.ViaggiaTreno.it
write about the trains at real time and the timetables too.
And this system shows the other possibility for me for 27 april:
Direct train Bergamo - Rovato 22:14-22:59 change train and Regional train Rovato - Verona Porta Nuova 23:10 - 00:07 - it looks much better
And even variation:
Bergamo 22:55 - 23:43 Brescia change train and Brescia 23:45- 00:40 Verona Porta Nuova - not so bad too.
4. It's very much not right- the different information from the same Trenitalia site, but I can't ask them -no one e-mail on the site and my talking english is not so good to try to say all this on telephone...

And I ask You, Dear Bergamo people, help me, please! please, please :)
Ask in ticket office: what's true?
Present train Direct train Bergamo - Rovato 22:14-22:59 change train and Regional train Rovato - Verona Porta Nuova 23:10-00:07 or not?
And this train too:
Bergamo 22:55 - 23:43 Brescia change train and Brescia 23:45- 00:40 Verona Porta Nuova.
I will be very thankful :) You'll really save me from this disappoint and afraid.
Your Evgenia.

Bergamo Cheap Accommodation near the train station or Porto Nuovo
Posted: Sat March 17, 2007 11:45 AM UTC
I'm coming to Italy next month. I arrive late (23:20) at the airport, so will probably have to take the last shuttle into town. I believe this only goes as far as the train station or Porto Nuovo. I will have a heavy suitcase and plan to take the train to Verona the next afternoon, so I'm looking for cheap accommodation near the train station that night. I just need one bed, preferably at hostel prices. Any ideas? Preferably somewhere that will let me leave my case the next day while I check out Bergamo...
Also, it looks like I'll have to wait an hour for the shuttle bus. How much would a taxi be from the airport to town?
Cheers.

I have a free day there on Sunday 1st April and wonder if you locals can give me some suggestions for a day out from Bergamo (Not Milan!!) I will not have a car and would use public transport....or is there anything happening in town on that day that would make it worth hanging around. Thanks

Hi!
We're travelling to Venice for easter but we're landing in Bergamo. Can anyone please tell me what is the best way to travel from Bergamo to Venice? Should we book train/bus fares in advance, if so where? Or are we better off just renting a car? And how long does it take to travel between the two cities?
Thanks for any suggestions!
