Bergamo SHARE TAXI BERGAMO - MALCESINE
Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 08:29 AM UTC
Hi
I am flying with my husband into Bergamo airport on Fri 30 May to stay in Malcesine for a week. As I am pregnant we can't face doing the journey by public transport, are not keen on driving ourselves and are blanching at the cost of a taxi - cheapest quote I've had is 145 E each way (not too bad compared to some others!).
We would be interested in sharing the cost of a taxi transfer if anyone is travelling on the same date/s to a similar destination? Our flight arrives in Bergamo 1500h.
Thanks
Eleanor

Bergamo Castello at San Vigilio
Posted: Wed March 26, 2008 06:24 PM UTC
Hi I am visiting Bergamo in 2 weeks time, staying in the Citta Alta and we will be arriving fairly late on a Saturday. I had planned to book us (7 of us) in for a meal at La Columbina or at Sole or the Cooperative Citta Alta. We will not be able to get there until 10 or 10:30 which would be the best place for eating late?
Also has anyone got the phone number for the Cooperative Citta Alta, can't find it anywhere.
Thanks Anna

Hi I am visiting Bergamo in 2 weeks time, staying in the Citta Alta and one of our group is particularly fond of castles. We will probably go upto the Castle on a Sunday, so can anybody help with the following info:-
Is the Castle at San Vigilio open every day?
I have read that there are underground passages to explore and that guided tours can be booked. Is it possible to explore them independantly?
thanks Anna

Bergamo Loved it
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 02:56 PM UTC
We spent the first night in MarcoLaura B&B and it was fantastic, we just wished we could have stayed 2 more nights but it was fully booked.
Marco & Laura are very friendly people and the pick up from the airport was really practical for us.
...and the area is really beautiful.

Bergamo Hotels for walks in Bergamo
Posted: Fri February 15, 2008 12:17 PM UTC
My husband and I are going to Bergamo in April 2008 and would love to do some walking in the area, or if possible take public transport to some of the lakes. We are trying to avoid hiring a car if possible.

The question I have is does anyone know where we should look for accomodation, any particular hotel? We would need to be able to get from the airport to the hotel easy enough, as well as be able to get out and about to see some of the scenery we keep hearing about! We're not bothered about nightlife as such as long as there is somewhere where we can eat at night and grab a couple of beers.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Bergamo Travelling by train from Bergamo
Posted: Sat December 29, 2007 12:45 PM UTC
My wife and I will be staying in Bergamo during March 2008 and while we wish to see as much of Bergamo as possible, we would also like to take one or two rail journeys to view the surrounding area. Obviously, as we are staying in Bergamo for the week, we would wish to do a mid morning to early evening excursion.

Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.

Best wishes for 2008.

Bergamo Clusone to Bergamo
Posted: Thu December 20, 2007 07:59 AM UTC
I noticed that Clusone is not listed in VT. I found some hotels there, but I need to know how far are those hotels from the bus stop. I tried the website clusone.org but it is only in Italian.

Can any one from Bergamo guide me to a map with the bus stop points?

Bergamo 4 nights in Dec Bergamo & Milan what to do?
Posted: Fri November 16, 2007 02:47 PM UTC
Hi there, I am a 25 year old taking my girlfriend to Italy for the first time. We will be ariving at Bergamo on Sun 16th Dec and leaving Thu 20th Dec. I would like to spend some time in Milan and some time in the Bergamo area. I don't know anything about the two places and would appreciate any advice on how to plan my itinerary. I was thinking of spending the first 2 nights in Milan and second 2 nights in the Bergamo area. I am looking to experiance some of the culture of the region as well as sampling the local food and night life. I would also really like to see some breathtaking scenery if poss (foothills of the mountains or lakes?). In regards to accomodation I would like to stay somewhere traditional with individual characteristics at a reasonable price, so around £60 night between us. I am also interested in how much it costs to eat out and get around. I would like to makes this as special as poss for the both of us so any help would be great.

In return I live in Bristol England so any advice you need regarding this area please ask!

Bergamo Looking for apartment to rent in Spring, 2008
Posted: Fri August 17, 2007 08:36 PM UTC
My daughter and I want to live in Bergamo in the spring next year, 2008 (April-May) and would like to connect with someone in Bergamo who knows of available properties- or knows someone in the business of renting properties. It's been nearly impossible to find a detailed list on Google- so I thought I'd start here. I love Bergamo and was there for the 2004 F1 race in Monza- stayed in the Citta Alta- which is where I'd like to stay again (who wouldn't right?).

So details are: mid-April to end of May, citta alta, 1 bedroom apartment/flat. Thanks!!!
