Bologna Airport - Town Posted: Tue October 27, 2009 01:29 PM UTC
Hi
I am considering going to Bologna for about 3 nights maybe early December. Was going to book flights independantly and stay somewhere cheap for financial reasons. Can anyone tell me, how far is the airport to the city of Bologna and what is the best travel method from the airport to our hotel which is near to the centre of the city.
Also, is Bologna a good place to visit, is it expensive and is there much to see?
Thanks
Joe

Car Storage in Bologna Posted: Sat September 19, 2009 10:36 AM UTC
We have a small Renault Twingo which we use when travelling to from Bologna Marconi airport to our italian cottage in Tuscany. We cannot afford to leave it in the airport car parks. Does anyone know of a car storage facility a taxi ride away from the airport? We do not mind paying a reasonable fee. It does not need to be undercover but that would be nice. We used to leave it at a friends home near Forli when Ryanair flew there. Now when we travel we have to get to and from Forli aswell. Can anyone offer any advice? Kind Regards. Eileen

Need Advice, traveling from Bologna to....???? Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 06:52 PM UTC
I am flying into London from the US next week. Then with friend flying to the South of France, driving a bit and ending up in Bologna. My friends are flying back to London since they live and work there. I will have about a week to spend...anywhere in Europe...and then I have to get back to London to fly back to the US. I'm not trying to be too cheap, but affordable with my travel (train vs flying where it makes sense). I feel like I can make two stops. I thought about a train to Switzerland, then train to Paris, then back to London. Or fly to Paris, train to Amsterdam, then back to London. Barcelona has also crossed my mind.
Unfortunately not too specific, but any advice/ideas are helpful. Thanks.

Need a hotel not too far from the airport Posted: Sun September 6, 2009 02:02 PM UTC
I will be flying into Bologna Marconi Airport, Then picking up a rental car to visit other regions of Italy. I would love to stop and have lunch in Bologna at a family style tratoria/restaurant. But I will have the rental car with me. Can anyone suggest a good home style tratoria? What about parking?
Also My flight back home from Marconi airport is early in the morning. Can anyone suggest a clean b&b/hotel where I can also park my rental car, within one hour of the airport. I don't want to spend more than 95 euro for a double room. Grazie sararosa

Milan train station -> to Linate airport? Travel options Posted: Mon July 13, 2009 01:19 AM UTC
What is the quickest most economical way to get from the Milan train station to Linate airport. Is there a shuttle? How often does it run and what is the cost? Would a taxi be a better option? Rate?
I have read the distance between these locations is only 7km or 4 miles. The only reference to a shuttle is the STARFLY, and it takes 30 minutes. Could this be true?

I see that I can take a bus from BLQ to get to the Bologna station. I was wondering if there is option to store luggage at the station b/c I plan to leave my luggage and explore Bologna for a day. My wife and I then plan to catch the late evening train to Florence.
Also how much does it cost to store luggage there?
Also, any suggestions on what to do for a day in Bologna will be appreciated?

Night Stay at Bologna; Budget Options Posted: Tue April 28, 2009 10:43 AM UTC
We are a group of 4-6 (age 26-29), planning to visit Italy and onwards (back-packing) in June, 2009. We would like to travel and visit as many places as possible and that too with minimum amount of time and money. I have made the following tentative itinerary with 2nd class fares (in Euros) on Regional Trains:
Points; Date; Fares; Duration
Milan-Venice; 9-Jun-09; 14.50; 07:25-10:49
Venice-Bologna; 9-Jun-09; 8.90; 19:57-22:04
Bologna-Florence; 10-Jun-09; 5.40; 06:45-08:21
Florence-Pisa; 10-Jun-09; 5.60; 11:57-13:06
Pisa-Rome; 10-Jun-09; 17.65; 17:45-21:50
Question # 1: Kindly let me know if there are any one-way combined tickets available from Milan to Rome (via Florence and Pisa) effective for two consecutive days that cost less than the combined fare of the above itinerary? I am asking this question after searching on Eurail and trenitalia.
Question # 2: Can we stay at Bologna Railway Station for the whole night (Rest Rooms, other options)?

Hi, there's a cheap hotel I've found (Hotel Imperial)in Bologna, it's a bit out of the city centre but apparently is easily accessible because it's on the number 25 bus route. So can anyone tell me how good a servcie is the number 25? What time does the last bus leave the centre of Bologna?

Motorcycle Rental in Bologna Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 03:41 PM UTC
Hello!
I will be traveling with friends to Bologna in June and while the ladies in the group are enjoying a cooking class, the guys are interested in renting motorcycles and touring the countryside for the day. Do you have any advice about where they could rent the motorcycles for just a day, or where they should tour around Bologna?
Thanks!

The Holiday Hotel Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 01:22 PM UTC
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this hotel.
Hotel Holiday - Bologna Via Bertiera 13 - 40100 Bologna
I can get a great deal of 76 euro a night at the moment and was just wondering if anyone had stayed there. (Unless I get really bad reviews then I'll book it!, and by bad review, I don't mean small shower and bad coffee!)
Ciao,

Fun things in Bologna Posted: Tue April 1, 2008 10:39 PM UTC
I will be traveling by myself on Fri, May 2nd through Bologna. Does anyone have any recommendations for what to do with a free day in Bologna? I am a foodie, so I will definitely be checking out the cuisine, but what else is essential? Also, what is there to do in Bologna on a Friday night? (Because I will be alone, I would like to stay in a safer area of town.) Are there any places where I can meet some fun natives? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Travelling from Bologna to Prague (or Berlin) Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 01:56 AM UTC
Hi All,
I am planning a trip to Italy in July 2008. We are finishing in Bologna and would like to make an additional stop for 3 days in Europe before flying onto Copenhagen.
Our first choice is Prague (or maybe Berlin), but I am going crazy trying work out the travelling. I have been searching discount airline and looked at Trenitalia for trains, but am very confused.
Does anyone know the easiest to fly from Bologna to Prague?
If we have to go via another city (eg. Milan, Pisa or Rome) which airport is the easiest to get to from Bologna?
Thanks very much
