Bolzano The Dolomites
Posted: Mon June 20, 2005 08:27 PM UTC
We are planning a 10 day trip that I have only dream about. Seeing and hiking in the Dolomites would just be awesome. Best air fare from UK is to Venice Treviso. We will hire a car and as we have never been into the area before thought that Bolzano would be a good place to make base. Any recomendations as to where to stay? Self catering chalet with a view would be great. If not, decent size hotel preferred. Any advice appreciated!

Can anyone tell me the opening hours of the stores in Bolzano on a Saturday? We'll have just one weekend in Bolzano and I'd like to know if we can leave the grocery shopping till late Saturday afternoon.
Thanks for any information.

Bolzano Trains to Bolzano
Posted: Tue February 22, 2005 04:11 AM UTC
I was through Bolzano on the train from Innsbruck last summer. This summer I planned to take the train from Munich to Bolzano and stay a few days. However, the Eurail site does not recognize Bolzano as a destination ( it did a few months ago). Is not possible to take the train to Bolzano now for some reason? I will have to find a different way to get to Bolzano if that is true.

Thanks,

Tim Stone

Bolzano Castle ruins near Bolzano
Posted: Mon October 25, 2004 12:46 AM UTC
Any ideas how I can find where exactly the ruins are of Schloss Unterkofler which I have been told are near Bolzano. I would like to take my young children to Bolzano in the summer of 2005 and it would be great to find out as much about the family and ruins before we get there.

I plan to visit Bolzano at 14/1/05-17/0105 for a REM gig.
Please be kind enough as to give me any tips for cheap accommodation, as well as anything else that might be useful.

Thanks in advance

Bolzano Where to stay in Bolzano
Posted: Wed May 12, 2004 09:14 AM UTC
Hi

We will be passing through Bolzano for one night on our honeymoon trip. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we could stay for the night. We are happy to use B&B or hotel. We would like to stay somewhere where we could enjoy scenery and have access to good food places.

Thanks

Bolzano Visiting Bolzano, Italy
Posted: Mon June 9, 2003 09:04 PM UTC
Hi and Shalom:
These are the places and dates we will be traveling in July 2003.

July 9, arrive Munich, Germany, travel to Bolzano, Italy area, stay 2 nights.
July 11, arrive Ferrara, Italy, stay 3 nights.
July14, arrive Rijeke, Croatia, stay 1 night.
July 15, arrive Plitvice, Croatia, stay 2 nights.
July 17, arrive Zagreb, Croatia, stay 3 nights.
July 20, arrive Ljubljana, Slovenia, stay 2 nights.
July 22, arrive Dovje, Slovenia, stay 2 nights.
July 24, arrive Ardagger, Austria, stay 2 nights.
July 26, arrive Munich, Germany, stay 2 nights.
July 28, return to Israel (and yes, stay a lot of nights ;O))).

Would appreciate any and all suggestions of things to see, things to do, where to stay (we prefer Bed & Breakfast, but have a tight budget of maximum 60 euro for the three of us per night), where to eat, along that route, etc.etc.etc……

We like exceptional scenery, good food, good wine, enjoy cultural events, meeting people and are usually not in a hurry, we take our time to actually “see” and try to experience a country, not only put a check by the name, but we take memories home.
So any help would be great.

Thanks.
