Capri romantic/cheap place to stay
Posted: Tue October 3, 2006 01:28 AM UTC
I will be in Rome for 6 weeks this summer. I'm planning on spending a weekend in Capri, probably friday/saturday. Are there any relatively inexpensive and romantic places to stay preferably by the water that anyone can recommend?

Capri Special Restaurants in Capri
Posted: Fri September 22, 2006 05:38 AM UTC
Will be in Capri for about 4 hours via cruise ship. It is my husband's birthday and I'm looking for a special restaurant for lunch in Capri overlooking the sea. I would like something like Il San Pietro Hotel in Positano. Unfortunately, we do not have time to drive to Positano so I need to find a special place in Capri. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Capri Deciding between La Tosca and La Canasta in Capri
Posted: Wed September 6, 2006 12:23 PM UTC
I have found two hotels in Capri that seem reasonable for my family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Both have good reviews, but I wonder if anyone has any experience with either. They are La Tosca and La Canasta. Thanks.

Capri Getting back to Capri - difficult???
Posted: Fri June 23, 2006 03:42 AM UTC
I will be staying on Capri for 7 nights in September. I am planning on taking day trips to Sorrento, Naples, Positano, Amalfi, etc. I have looked around at some of the ferry/hydrofoil websites and it would seem that it is difficult to get BACK to
Capri in the evening time. Is this generally the case? It would seem that case with Positano-Capri in the evening. ANY help is appreciated.

Capri Not "Miss Grace"
Posted: Wed June 21, 2006 01:14 PM UTC
As a person who always seems to have problems, I am a little concerned about your statement. Did I understand you correctly, they will transfer us in the middle of the water to a small boat? This does not seem very safe and for me...sounds like an accident waiting to happen! I can just see me falling into the water! How do they do this? I don't understand. I am not a very athletic person and I am large. Do you think this will be a problem?

Capri Capri/Ischia . .where to stay? HELP!
Posted: Sat March 4, 2006 01:45 AM UTC
2 Guys travelling to Italy for the 1st time.
We're staying in Rome 4 days in the Testaccio area.
2 Days in Naples at B & B 49Morelli,
4 days in Capri, and we have no idea where to stay.
5 days in Positano at Casa Cosenza.

We'd like a place in Capri town with a Pool as the beach is not practical from most of the posts. Alot of the Hotels have both Good & Bad reviews. Anyone been there recently and can recomend someplace nice and under 250 Euro a night in Capri? Should we stay somewhere in Ischia instead, and just visit Capri for the day?

Grazie,

Maplewoody

Capri Getting over to Capri
Posted: Tue January 10, 2006 07:06 PM UTC
We are staying in the Almafi Coast area Sorrent or Postiano? We will have a rental car and want to visit Capri. Should we plan for an over night stay? or just a day trip?

Can some one give me some advice on the Ferries vs hydrofoils. I looked up the info on the net and it seems I have 4 options to get there. After reading the info I wasn't sure on which to choose? The jetboats, the ferries, the hydrofoils, or the SNAV?

Any advice is appreciated

Confused

Capri Shopping on Capri and Anacapri
Posted: Mon January 9, 2006 12:38 AM UTC
My husband and I will be visiting Capri soon. I plan to go shopping (and he promises to be a good sport!), and I would like to know what I should look for on Capri. What are they known for? What would be a rip-off? What is the best thing you bought on the island?

We have an 11:45am flight out of Naples. We are staying in Capri until that morning and we are wondering if it is too much to get from Capri to the Naples airport that morning? I'm hoping that it is not, but I welcome your suggestions!

Capri Capri in August
Posted: Thu June 16, 2005 02:01 AM UTC
My husband and I are going to Capri in the beginning of August. We both have been there before, but it's been awhile. We have 11 days to use up, only nine
if we include flying time. We would like to spend half of our time in Capri,
and the other half somewhere else. Any suggestions? We have to fly in and
out of the same airport due to us using travelmiles. I have been to Rome, but
my husband has not. Could do that and then go down to Capri. Or, we would really like to go to Prague. Does anybody know if flights go from Prague to Naples? How about Sicily? I'm just throwing things out there. Bottom line,
we really want Capri and one other great spot. Have to fly in and out of the same airport from the States, just need to find are own transportation within
Europe. Thanks, Cris
P.S. Any great hotels or B & B's in Capri that you would suggest?

Hello! I will be travelling in August to Rome for four days. I'd like, if possible, to spend one full day in Capri. I found on the Internet many organized excursions, departing from Rome. Does anyone has a suggestion for a good travel agency that offers one day trips to capri?

Capri Go on our own to Capri from Rome or take a 1-day guided tour?
Posted: Mon May 30, 2005 05:31 AM UTC
My husband & I are spending about 5 days in Rome in late Jun/early July and would like to visit Capri on a day trip from Rome. Is it better to take a 1-day guided tour to Capri or take the train, hydrofoil and go Capri on our own? Is it difficult to get around without knowing any italian? We are a young couple in our late twenties who can speak English and Mandarin/Chinese but no italian at all.
Is transportation expensive on Capri? We plan to visit the blue grotto while we are there... is it difficult to get access to the blue grotto if we are not with tour group?

Would appreciate some advice... Thanks !

Capri Visiting Amalfi coast from Capri - which direction?
Posted: Sat May 7, 2005 05:25 AM UTC
we are visiting Capri and wish to see the Amalfi coast. If we take a boat from Capri to Amalfi we could then get the bus from Amalfi to Sorrento and the boat back to Capri in the evening. Is the bus trip worth doing in this direction or is it more scenic going from Sorrento to Amalfi? Should we spend a night in Sorrento or Positano or is Capri better than either of these?

Capri Capri in March
Posted: Thu December 9, 2004 06:24 PM UTC
Dear VT Forum Readers,

My husband and I are going to Naples between late February and the begining of March, to visit Pompeii and Capri... I'm afraid about the weather, and I'm not sure if it is worth to visit the island, although I know that in sumer time its too crowded and its a bit uncomfortable.

Can we visit the "Grotta Azzura" or is it closed in winter?

Waiting for your answer....

Capri Capri or Anacapri ??
Posted: Thu August 26, 2004 02:22 PM UTC
Dear VT Forum Readers,

We're undecided about staying our (planned 2 nights) in either Capri or Anacapri.

We're not too big on shopping, or tourism . . . prefer quiet time, and island sights.

Anyone stay in Anacapri ? Hotel recomendations ?

We assume that it's quite easy to move around the island (to/from Anacapri) due to size, but comments are welcomed.
