Capri Capri & Ischia in one day?
Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 04:45 PM UTC
I will be arriving to Naples by cruise ship in May. Is it possible to plan to see both Capri & Ischia in one day? I would have from about 9-430pm to see both. I realize that I would'nt have a lot of time for sightseeing, but atleast some great photo opprotunities. If this is possible. How would I go about seeing both?

Capri Getting to Capri from Naple Airport (NAP)
Posted: Thu February 7, 2008 02:32 PM UTC
I assume the quickest and best method is to get a taxi from the airport to the harbour and then the hydrofoil to Capri. Is this correct? About how long should I allow to get from the airport to the harbour and do I need to pre book a boat (I expect to be going there in September).

TIA

Capri Hi there
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 03:01 AM UTC
We are going to Isle of Capri in May and want to see the Blue Grotto.

We were thinking it would be nice to walk there instead of getting a bus or a boat. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

What I'm asking specifically, is can you walk from Marina Grande to Anacapri (and then to the Blue Grotto) and how long does it take and how do I get a map?

Thanks in advance. Grazie millie :o)

Capri Have you been to La Canasta Capri???
Posted: Wed January 16, 2008 11:42 PM UTC
Has anybody been to this hotel?

If so, what is it like? I am thinking of booking a superior double room and don't want to be dissappointed but realise it is only a 3 star hotel.

Not bothered that it is not close to the beach, more interested in nice clean rooms friendly service decent breakfast etc etc

Any comments would be welcome, thanks.

Capri Blue Grotto
Posted: Mon August 13, 2007 02:03 AM UTC
I am arriving by cruise ship and would like to see the Blue Grotto. I will have a full day there, from 7:00am to 6:00 pm. Since we have been to Capri and Sorrento before, we would like to see the Blue Grotto. Does anyone know how to get from the cruise ship to the boats that will take us to the grotto?

Capri from Rome to Capri
Posted: Sun August 12, 2007 09:11 PM UTC
Hi

I am travelling to Rome in mid september and I would really like to visit Capri. What I want to know is -if a day trip to Capri from Rome is feasible. Also, what is the best and the most economical way. From my research I have sort of figured out that I shoud take a SITA bus from Rome to Naples (which would be around 2 hours) and then take a ferry to Capri. Would I be able to do justice to Capri in 5-7 hours that I am on the island. Also, I am a little concerned abour returning to Naples after dark. It has a dubious reputation. Is that justified? The day trips otherwise (the pre-packaged ones) are ridiculously expensive. Are the SITA buses reliable and easy to board. Do I need to book in advance?

Please advice the best way to go about this.

Thanks

Hello!

I am hoping to rent a small boat in Capri. Something with a small outboard motor, nothing too fancy. Does any one have a suggested vendor or has anyone done this that would care to give some feedback?

Thanks!

We want to take a day from Sorrento to Capri. We love water trips. We would like to go around the island by boat and of course do the Blue Grotto. Seems to be much info about bad companies. Which is the best? Where would we get it? And also any other suggestions for '1 day' in Capri?

Capri Best of 1 day in Capri
Posted: Mon March 5, 2007 04:06 PM UTC
My fiance and I are planning an Italian honeymoon in April and May and plan to stay in sorrento for 3 nights from May 5 to 8. During this time we plan on taking 3 day trips. One to Pompeii and vesuvius, one drive down Amalfi coast and visit Postiano, and one day in Capri.

We are wondering how our day in Capri should be best utilized. We hear there are some nice hiking trails there, and this sort of thing interests us. We would also like to take the chail lift to the top of the island, or possibly hike up - lift down. We are not interested in shopping on the island (hear it's outrageously priced!), and could possibly do without the Blue grottoes...unless someone convinces us otherwise.

Any help would be appreciated. We don't mind squeezing in as much as possible, and plan to get over ealry and stay till the last ferry back.

Thanks

Capri Spas, Shopping, Getting around the island...
Posted: Sun January 14, 2007 09:21 PM UTC
Spas:
I will traveling with a friend this spring to Sorrento. We are looking for day spa recommendations in the area. Do you know of a good one? Have a great experience to share? Grazie mille in advance. We plan on visiting Naples, the hill towns of the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Ischia, and Procida. So a spa in any of these locations is of interest.

Shopping:
Have you had sandals custom made in Capri? Is there a particular shop or artisan that you would recommend (and why)? In addition to a nice handmade pair of sandals, I'm interested in local artists. Paintings, drawings, etchings, prints, etc. Are there a variety of artists/galleries on the island or is it all commercial, tourist souvenir crap? Please be honest.

Getting around:
In your opinion, is it possible to see the major sites on Capri, at an enjoyable pace, in a single day? Or would two trips be advisable/preferable? I'd like to do a bit of shopping, see the Blue Grotto, get up in the hills for the view, eat, laze about the beach. Am I leaving anything key out that I shouldn't miss?

Cheers,
Marisa

Capri Special Restaurants in Capri
Posted: Fri September 22, 2006 05:38 AM UTC
Will be in Capri for about 4 hours via cruise ship. It is my husband's birthday and I'm looking for a special restaurant for lunch in Capri overlooking the sea. I would like something like Il San Pietro Hotel in Positano. Unfortunately, we do not have time to drive to Positano so I need to find a special place in Capri. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks!
