October and restaurants in Capri Posted: Wed October 21, 2009 12:44 AM UTC
My wife and I are heading to Capri this weekend for vacation. We have read that many restaurants close during winter months. Is it typical for most restaurants to close in October or do they wait until November? Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Advice concerning Naples to Capri travel arrangements Posted: Wed September 30, 2009 12:00 AM UTC
Arriving at Naples Centrale train station at 5PM the 2nd week of October. We have hotel reservations at Marriott Capri Resort for 2 nights. Any advice to get from train station to Capri and then to the hotel would be greatly appreciated. Are we able to make reservations in advance?
Also, we would appreciate any reccommendations of how to make the best use of one full day.

Train Station/Ferry Station in Naples Posted: Thu September 17, 2009 11:27 PM UTC
I'll be in Naples via cruise by late Oct. I recognized there are jetfoil, bus or train services directly to Capri or Sorrento. Before deciding the means of transport, I need to measure the distance between the place my ship dock and the Ferry Station or train station. Anyone can help me out the following:
1. Is it necessary to take cab or bus to the jetfoil terminal or to the train/bus station? I prefer to walk if not far.
2. What is name of the train station or the bus stop
3. do all above transportation operate in late Oct?
Greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks
Stephen

Capri/Pompeii with overnight from Rome/drive or train best? Posted: Sun August 30, 2009 11:15 PM UTC
Greetings! My husband and I will be in Rome in Sept. We would love to visit Capri and stay there 1-3 nights. We also wish to see the ruins at Pompeii. We are unsure as to whether it is better to rent a car or take the train to Naples. How does one get around on the island w/o Car best, and are there certain areas where the hotels are not near any of the main attractions and therefore will be hard to get to once we arrive? I've heard the drive along the coast is spectacular though I have also heard that if you do not know the roads well, it can be treacherous! We are experienced city drivers...so just how true is this? If we do not elect to drive and do take the train to Naples, I know we can get to Capri via hydrofoil but is it near the train? How would we also see Pompeii most cost effectively, before or after Capri? Thank you for any help you can give!

with small children on capri -_ where to stay? Posted: Sun June 7, 2009 10:23 AM UTC
Hi! We'll be coming to Capri for a week in September with our 1 year old (by then) daughter. From a 6 years ago visit on capri I remember the city/ landscape is not so baby-friendly. So we have hard to decide where to stay - can anybody recommend a suitable place/hotel with swimming pool? What places & activities can you tip for a family with a toddler? We are very active people, using a back-chair for our baby to move around/ hike.
Thank you a lot!

My wife and I plan to visit Capri in the summer for a few days.
I'll be arriving at Marina Grande and will be staying near Capri town center, and will have a large and a small suitcase.
What's the best way to get up there?

Please advise.

Chairlifts to AnaCapri Posted: Wed July 2, 2008 12:03 AM UTC
We will be returning to Capri next week. Last there 16 yrs ago! We now have children age 8 & 10. Looking at our old videos it appears that the chairlifts could accomodate just 1 passenger. Is this true now? Are small children allowed on with a parent? Are they allowed alone? (Seems kinda dangerous to me). Alternatives? - taxis? Cost?
Thanks for helping.

Capri in August Posted: Wed May 28, 2008 01:54 AM UTC
I am traveling to Italy (possibly Rome - Florence - Venice not sure the order)in August. I know August is a bad time to travel but I won the tickets and this is the only month available.....
I would like to spend some time in Capri or the Amalfi coast. Is it worth it this time of year? Or, is it better to stick to the larger cities in August?
Thank you!

Capri & Ischia in one day? Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 05:45 PM UTC
I will be arriving to Naples by cruise ship in May. Is it possible to plan to see both Capri & Ischia in one day? I would have from about 9-430pm to see both. I realize that I would'nt have a lot of time for sightseeing, but atleast some great photo opprotunities. If this is possible. How would I go about seeing both?

Getting to Capri from Naple Airport (NAP) Posted: Thu February 7, 2008 03:32 PM UTC
I assume the quickest and best method is to get a taxi from the airport to the harbour and then the hydrofoil to Capri. Is this correct? About how long should I allow to get from the airport to the harbour and do I need to pre book a boat (I expect to be going there in September).
TIA

Hi there Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 04:01 AM UTC
We are going to Isle of Capri in May and want to see the Blue Grotto.
We were thinking it would be nice to walk there instead of getting a bus or a boat. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?
What I'm asking specifically, is can you walk from Marina Grande to Anacapri (and then to the Blue Grotto) and how long does it take and how do I get a map?
Thanks in advance. Grazie millie :o)

Have you been to La Canasta Capri??? Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 12:42 AM UTC
Has anybody been to this hotel?
If so, what is it like? I am thinking of booking a superior double room and don't want to be dissappointed but realise it is only a 3 star hotel.
Not bothered that it is not close to the beach, more interested in nice clean rooms friendly service decent breakfast etc etc
Any comments would be welcome, thanks.

from Rome to Capri Posted: Sun August 12, 2007 10:11 PM UTC
Hi
I am travelling to Rome in mid september and I would really like to visit Capri. What I want to know is -if a day trip to Capri from Rome is feasible. Also, what is the best and the most economical way. From my research I have sort of figured out that I shoud take a SITA bus from Rome to Naples (which would be around 2 hours) and then take a ferry to Capri. Would I be able to do justice to Capri in 5-7 hours that I am on the island. Also, I am a little concerned abour returning to Naples after dark. It has a dubious reputation. Is that justified? The day trips otherwise (the pre-packaged ones) are ridiculously expensive. Are the SITA buses reliable and easy to board. Do I need to book in advance?
Please advice the best way to go about this.
Thanks

I am hoping to rent a small boat in Capri. Something with a small outboard motor, nothing too fancy. Does any one have a suggested vendor or has anyone done this that would care to give some feedback?
