Hello everybody. I have actually 2 questions:
1) Ive read everywhere on the net that Esmeralda Tour was the best agency to do the jeep tour. Ive tried to reach them but they won't pick up the phone. Was someone recently there and could tell me if they're still in business? and what is the best way to reach them (email?)

2) I would like to use this tour operator but starting from San Pedro De Sula and ending at uyuni. Do you know if it's possible? the lonely planet mentions few agencies that do the tour from San Pedro but they can't recommend any of them. I wish I could book the tour with Esmeralda from San Pedro.

3) here's a last one: do we have to book in advance or can we just show up there?

I want to go to the salt deserts of Chile and/or Bolivia in December - and this is already my question:

Should I visit both San Pedro de Atacamar AND Salar the Uyuni or do you think that they are pretty similiar and I can reduce to just one of them? Any advice would be helpful for me to decide if I go from Salta straight to Bolivia / Uyuni or if I take the bus from Salta to San Pedro de Atacamar instead - which should be a rather uncomfortable ride, I heard.

Hello - I'm planning to travel in July from Cusco to La Paz via Puno, and then from La Paz to Uyuni and back. What's the fastest way to travel from La Paz to Uyuni, overnight bus, or bus and train via Oruro? How long does it take? Also, any other random tips on Uyuni tours would be great, thanks to all who have already posted advice!

Also, does anyone know if there are currently any strikes or other issues that would cause roads to be blocked in the area, or any other delays?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am travelling to Uyuni on an overnight bus from La Paz and am hoping to do a two day tour while there. Can any one recommend good two full day tours of the area.
