Puerto Iguazu to Sao Paulo Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 04:22 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm traveling to Puerto Iguazu in Feb. I fly into the airport mid morning, will see the Argentine side on my first day and will be staying there overnight. The following day I would like to see the Brazilian side before getting an overnight bus to Sao Paulo... can anyone tell me how frequent the buses are from Foz do Iaguzu to Sao Paulo and how much they cost. Also if I go from my hostel to the brazilian side where can I store my luggage while I explore the falls?
Thanks

Iquazu falls visit Posted: Wed March 25, 2009 01:24 AM UTC
we(3 people) plan to visit the Iguazu falls, arriving at the IGU, Brazilian airport on May 2. We only have 2 days to see the falls. We plan to visit the Brazilian falls soon after we arrive. After that, we will cross to the Argentina side as our we plan to stay in a hotel there. Our plan also include exploring the Argentina falls the next day. Question:
- we need transportation from the airport to the falls
- we want to keep our luggage somewhere while we tour the falls on the Brazilian side
we need transportation from the falls to our hotel on the Argentina side after touring the Brazilian falls.
What is the best way to do this? Has anyone done it this way before?

Puerto Iguazu - Accomodation Posted: Sun February 1, 2009 11:48 AM UTC
Hello
I've already been a few times in Puerto Iguazo and i've never had any problems finding accomodation without making a reservation in advance.
In April I will visit Puerto Iguazu with my parents. So this time i will not stay in a youth hostel .. My parents don't want a luxury hotel, just a nice room with private bathroom.
Can anyone reccomend me a hotel?
Is it necessary to book in advance during this time ? ( april )
Thanks

Overnight in Brasil or Argentina Posted: Sat January 3, 2009 07:09 PM UTC
I will arrive to P. Iguasu from Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening. I will have a full day of Thursday to travel the Iguasu Falls on both sides. However, I have to catch a very early flight on Friday from the Brasilian side airport to Rio de Janeiro.
My question is where it is better to overnight: in P. Iguasu (argentina) or Foz de Iguassu (Brasil) or to split it.
If I stay both days in P. Iguasu (Argentina) how long in advance I have to leave in order to clear the borders and to get to the Brasilian Airport (the flight is scheduled for 06.00 !!).
Thanks a lot

Iguazu baggage storage and Itaipu Dam Posted: Thu September 11, 2008 05:55 PM UTC
Hi,
I am planning to arrive in Foz Iguazu at 1pm and leave the next day at 3pm from Argentinian site. Can you help me plan this stay?
I think i will book a hotel on brazilian site-check this side of the falls then next morning very early check out and off to Argentinian Park.
I would like to know whether there is any baggage storage on Brazilian site (so that i can go there directly from airport) and on Argentinian site of the park? Maybe you can store baggage at Argentinian airport?
The other question is can you see Itaipu Dam without doing the tour. I heard it is 90min tour and I do not have time for this. Yet I would like to see the dam briefly. Do you think I could go there around 6-7pm on my first day?
Thanks

Hotel and visa questions Posted: Sat September 6, 2008 02:41 PM UTC
Hello,
My family and I will be going to the Falls in October and found the Hotel Carmen (Argentine side) and seems like a good choice http://www.hotelcarmenteresa.es/iguazu/hotel/index.html . Has anyone stayed there before? Also, does anyone know what the weather is like in October? We plan on crossing over to the Brazilian and Paraguayan side too. Does anyone know how strict the Brazilians are with visas? My 1 year old daughter does not have a Brazilian visa (she has a US passport) and we don't feel like going through the hassle of getting her a visa for a one-day day trip into Foz, do you think it will be a problem for her? we figured if they don't let her through my husband would stay with her in the Argentine side since he has already been to Foz, but since she is so little does anybody think we can try and see if they let her through without a visa?
thanks in advance to my fellow VT friends.

crossing the border from Argentina to Brazil at igacu falls Posted: Mon August 27, 2007 04:15 PM UTC
This maybe a stupid question but a little confused with requirements for entering and leaving countries whilst trevelling.
At the start of 2008 my girlfriend and I are beginning our world trip in Argentina. We are planning to end up at the Iguazu falls for 3-5 days, staying on both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides before flying on to Manaus Brazil.
Will we be able to cross the border after staying in Puerto Igazu for 2 nights and then continue our travels in Brazil, or will we need to have pre booked a flight out of Argentina before entering the country. We are arriving in Argentina on the 2nd of January. Hoping someone can help with our inexperience?
Any recommendations on accommodation both sides of the falls would also be great

Hi VT´ers
In september I will be visting Puerto Iguazu for one whole day and then crossing over to Brazil for one night in Foz fromwhere I have a scheduled flight to Rio de Janeiro.
Is it better to go from Argentina-side into Paraguay for a short visit or is it better to go from the Brazilian side?
Also can somebody recommend a good hotel which is very close to the town of Puerto Iguazu?

Things to do in Iguazu in June Posted: Mon April 16, 2007 10:30 AM UTC
Hey all,
Once you've done the Falls is there anything else recommended in Iguazu?
What's the nightlife like?
Has anyone driven from Bs As to Iguazu? Is it a good idea with a rented car?
Cheers,

buses from buenos aires to san ignacio to puerto iguazu- Posted: Sun October 29, 2006 06:41 AM UTC
Hello!
A group of us will be traveling to Argentina at the end of the year. We are going to spend a week in buenos aires from christmas to new year's and then take a bus up to iguazu.
couple of questions-
lonely planet listed andesmar and chevallier as the biggest bus companies in argentina, but when we called them up, they said that they did not run the buenos aires - san ignacio - puerto iguazu route. i know there has to be other companies that run that route, does anyone know of these companies? do they have websites? is it necessary to prebook long distance bus tickets? we're going to be travelling right after new year's, or better still on new year's day itself if the buses run then (do they?) and so it'd probably be a busy time. we're looking for a bus that runs from buenos aires to san ignacio or posadas, we'd see the san ignacio mini jesuit ruins there, and then carry on to puerto iguazu for the falls.
we're excited about seeing the argentinean side of the falls. it looks like we're going to be arriving sometime in the afternoon, around 2pm. the park closes at 6.30pm. how long do the tours take? do we have time to see the falls on the day we arrive?
any help would be greatly appreciated. we're kinda stuck now because we have no information about bus companies, and we want to get that down before we book accommodation.
thank you so much.

Is there a bad day to go? Posted: Tue August 15, 2006 03:32 PM UTC
I'm trying to time my visit to Iguazu (Argentine side) perfectly....
I've heard its better to go during a full moon vs not. Would arriving December 4th and leaving December 6th help me do that?
Also, is it true that the park shuts down on Mondays?
Thanks, Kamal

Getting to Iguazu from Montevideo Posted: Tue August 15, 2006 02:43 PM UTC
I'm studying Spanish in Montevideo in December, and would like to find the most scenic route to Puerto Iguazu and back.
I'd also like to avoid going through Buenos Aries twice (on the way there and back). Could anyone suggest some routes? I saw a posting about traveling the last 200 miles via the river, which on the surface sounds exiciting?
I've saved up a lifetime worth of hotel "points" to get Falls View room at the Sheraton for two nights. I'm really looking forward to this!

Weather in Las Cataratas Posted: Tue March 21, 2006 06:06 PM UTC
I will be travelling to Las Cataratas next April and I need to know what is the weather like in that time of the year. Is it too rainy? Should I take some winter clothes in case it gets cooler at night? Or is still too hot even at this time of the year? What worries me the most if April is a rainy month like in the rest of Argentina.
Any answer will be appreciated. Thank you.

Visiting Argentine side from Brazil Posted: Sun March 19, 2006 07:17 PM UTC
Hi, I am in Foz Do Iguacu at the moment. I want to visit the Argentine side tomorrow. Do I need to pay anything at the border. I am from the UK and have no dollars or pesos. I am planning to catch the bus from Foz to Puerto and then a bus up to the falls. I am hoping to get some pesos in Puerto bus station for the bus trip up to the falls and back to Foz. Any help on this would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Colin.

2 days in Iguazu Posted: Thu February 2, 2006 04:46 PM UTC
Hi I´m spending just under 2 days in the Iguacu area, arriving in the Brazilian side early afternoon on 7th March, leaving Argentinian side early afternoon on 9th March. What is the best way I could plan my trip. I am thinking of spending one night in each side in the cities. Is it possible to see the falls in the afternoon or just the morning. I´m also very interested in doing the speedboat trip under the falls. Do I need to allow time for crossing the border as I´ll be spending 3 months in Argentina after crossing the border?
Can anyone help me plan these 2 days so I can get as much in as possible.
Thanks

Bus from the airport to town (hotel) Posted: Sun August 14, 2005 09:34 PM UTC
We will arrive by aeroplane and just wondering how to come to the town of Puerto Iguazu (or even better our hotel along Ruta 12). Off course there will be taxis and our hotel offered a pick up service, but they charge 35 pesos and I think this is rather expensive.
My question: are there regular busses running between the airport and town/hotels ?? How much do they charge ??
Thanks a lot
