Hello,
I have been looking for places to stay in Taormina, possibly cheap ones with shower in room.

I am looking for some kind of bed and breakfast for a comfortable stay with my family. Anybody with some positive experience that could share the place and if it's possible its website or phone number would be very greeted! We are a family of 5 persons (me, my spouse and 3 children), so we are looking for a big room or a mini-apartment it's ok as well.

I have been to the B&B San Placido Inn in Catania ( www.sanplacidoinn.com ) but I would like to look for something near to Taormina, to better enjoy the sea in summer. By the way I recommend the latter if you wish to stay in Catania, I found a very friendly enviroment there!

I am going to spend 6 days in Sicily by myself, 3 in Catania, I wonder what is the best way to go to the following places?

1- I need to go to catania airport at 7:15, I will stay at UNA Hotel Palace, I wonder what is the best transport at that time? Is bus available at about 5:00am?
2- I wish to go to Taormina, which bus should I take? and where?
3- If I wish to go to mt. enta, what is the best way? should I take a tour?

hi I am thinking of coming over to sicily/italy to go shopping at ikea..i believe there is no ikea in sicily so must travel to italy...I shall be arriving by ferry in catania...can you advise me on the easiest way to get to the closest ikea by car?

my family will be staying in the Catania region of sicily. i am interested in traveling to the italian mainland (Positano) and possibly Rome. What is the best way to travel?

I am planning a four or five day vacation on the Sicilian East Coast. The basic plan is the following:

Day 1 - Fly into Catania, early to mid-morning, and spend day in Catania (Sights, markets, etc)
Day 2 - Climb Etna (perhaps with organised tour?)
Day 3 - Go by bus to Siracusa, spend the day there, and return in late afternoon (5-ish?) by train or bus, spend evening in Catania
Day 4 - Rent a car to Acireale, Taormina, Linguaglossa, Randazzo
Day 5 - Morning in Catania, catch plane back home (Malta) in afternoon...

So, now the questions:
1. Would you recommend going by public transport, then rent a car to go to Linguaglossa/Randazzo or rent the car in Catania and drive from there?
2. Could anyone direct me at a site that offers Etna tours?
3. Acireale - is it worth the hassle?
4. What do you think in general? Too much, too little, too boring? I will be among friends (4 or 5 including me).

I didint include Messina/Milazzo on purpose - I'd do those on a separate trip along the Northern coast. Same goes for Noto, which could go in along a south coast trip.

I will be arriving by catamaran in Catania and will be driving my motorcycle. Have to leave Catania immediately to take Highway to Messina. Does anyone know whether one has to drive through the city to take Highway or is it close to port?

You know how traffic is in Catania and want to avoid as much as possible driving there.

i'm italian so feel free to reply to me in italian.I'll be with my gf in the area around catania(Valverde exactly) during august.Someone can tell me,some good beaches in that area to go by car(also where is praticed nudsim-naturalism) with no lots of people?I like quiet places,but i really don't know the area.And,please,if you can let me know places (also small town)where there is something during evenings,like fireworks,or saint's feast,and stuff like this

I will be in Catania the first week of August. CAn anybody recommend me the best clubs and bars where the Italian tourists (from Milano and Roma for example) hang out rather than locals in Sicilia and tourists? It will be helpful if you could specify the name, address of the places as well as what day of the week is best to go to any of those places! Grazie!

My wife is going to study in Catinia from october to february. I am a musician and will be arranging and producing music. My children are 6 and 14 and will attend school in Catania. But it is hard for the non italian speaking to find a place to rent over the internet because the english speaking websites are all holiday aimed. And the ones with long-term rentals are all in italian! Does anyone have a clue where to look ? We are looking for a big appartment ore a house. Any help appriciated.

I am arriving to Catania airport late (9:30 p.m.) on Sunday night. I want to go to the train station in Catania to catch the train to Taormina. Does anybody know how much it will cost to take a taxi from the airport to the train station in Catania? Is it easy to find a taxi at 9:30 p.m. on a Sunday night at the airport? Grazie!

I'm a 19 year old male English student from Warwick University who will be studying in Cstania next year as part of the Socrates/Erasmus scheme, and am uncertain as to how to approach finding accomodation in Catania. Would you suggest to fly across or ferry?

I'm here in Catania for only 3 days and night and i cant find anyplace with people speaking french, english or spanish (i'm french).

Is it possible to get from Cantania to Reggio di Calabria by ferry, or does one have to go overland and cross at Messina? If there is a ferry, can one find out about it on line?

I am planing to take a ferry from Catania to Naples in April.
Did anybody travel on TTTLines ferry and what is your experience, especially the quality of the cabins
