Share a ride on 10/4 /09 from airport to pier Posted: Tue September 29, 2009 03:33 PM UTC
We are in the process of renting a van through a limo company our travel agent recommended because the RCCL transportation option is full. The limo company has quoted 145 euros. Currently there are 4 of us. I assume the van will hold more but am checking on the capacity. We arrive FCO on 10/4/09 at 10:45am. Let me know if you are interested in sharing a ride and the expense. Transfer from Cruise ship to Fiumicino Airport in Rome Posted: Sun September 27, 2009 07:37 PM UTC
Does anyone have a suggestion for "less expensive" ways to transfer from port to FCO airport? We need to leave at 8 am on October 30 (from Celebrity Solstice) to reach FCO for a 12:30pm flight. Online companies are very expensive. My husband and I are willing to share a ride if anyone is interested.

how long does it take to disembark a cruise ship Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 01:09 AM UTC
We are "arriving" at the Civitavecchia port at 9:00 am and want to catch the 9:22 train from CV to Rome Termini. We don't know how long it takes to disembark, then walk the 10 or 15 minutes to the train station. Should we take the next train instead? There are 4 of us.

From train station to pier Posted: Sat August 22, 2009 11:26 PM UTC
We are taking the Train from Termini to Civitavecchia station. But I can't find information on how far the train station is from the pier, and whether it is walking distance or if we have to take a taxi. We are going to Pier 12.
Can someone tell us how to get from the train station to the pier the quickest way, and how many minutes that is? Thanks!!

Taxi/Shuttle tour from Civitavecchia to Rome or train Posted: Mon July 6, 2009 11:47 AM UTC
We are arriving in Civitavecchia on 8th August 2009 and plan a days excursion into Rome.
We are in a party of 6 however one member of the party is wheelchair bound but can transfer to a car seat. The only suitable cruise excursion is a 5 hour coach trip, only 45 minutes of which is free time before a 0.8km walk back to the bus.
Does anybody know how much it would cost to hire a private taxi/shuttle bus for the day?
Would we be able to manage by train...do the stations have elevators for disabled passengers ? Is Rome a wheelchair friendly city or a nightmare?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems that Hotel MiramarE is OK to spent one night at Civitavecchia city.

We're arriving at Fiumicino on July 5 from DC at about 8:30 pm and heading straight for the port. If you happen to be arriving around the same time, let us know and maybe we can split a cab or car.

Where, exactly, you have to report for a Princess Cruise? Posted: Thu June 4, 2009 03:49 PM UTC
Hi,
I will be arriving in Civitavecchia by car. I can easily find the direction to teh Port; however, the port is quite large. Where exactly is the terminal where you do a check-in for a Princess Cruise?
When you look at Google Maps, you can see a large cruise ship at the end of the long pier, but I don't expect that you report directly on-board.
I guess if take a transfer, you don't need to know, but I am driving myself. I hope that some who was there already can help.
thanks

Transfer between FCO and Civitavecchia port Posted: Tue May 5, 2009 02:44 AM UTC
Transfers between the Rome airport (FCO) and the Civitavecchia port can be a bit pricey. The lowest taxi fare for 2 persons is about 100 euro (US$133), but the same taxi (new big comfortable MiniVan) can transport up to 4 persons, for the same price. They also have larger vehicles which carry up to 8 persons.
Would you like to share a taxi before or afer the cruise?
We arrive at FCO on 9/18/09 at 2:40PM. We're cruising on the Celibrity Solstice at 6PM.
We'll return to Civitavecchia port on 9/28/09 at 4:AM.
Our flight leaves from FCO at 9:25AM.
If you would like to reduce your transfer costs and the times above suit you, please let me know and I'll order a suitable vehicle and we'll all share in the cost.

FCO to Civitavecchia November 15, 2009 Posted: Sun May 3, 2009 09:33 PM UTC
What is the best way for my husband and I to get from FCO to the cruise port in Civitaveecchia? We are "young senior citizens" with one checked luggage and two carry-ons? We have never been to Europe. We should arrive November 15 around 8:00 a.m. Approximately how long does it take to get through customs? Our ship boards around 3:00 p.m. We would like a short tour of Rome but doubt if we have time or it would be worth the added expense. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Help! Confused about taking train Civitavecchia to Rome Posted: Sat March 14, 2009 05:13 AM UTC
Hope you guys can help me....I was originally thinking of taking train to Rome and getting off at Termini, then taking Metro to Colosseum/Palatine. Then someone told me I could take the train to Ostiense and then go to Colosseum station....I have a Frommers guidebook that show the Metropolitana and those two routes are different. The one I am thinking about looks like it goes past Vatican to the Termini. The one they say looks like it comes from the Airport (opposite direction). So, if I am coming on the train from Civitavecchia....is there a different stop or something that I need to take to come in from the Ostiense direction? Does any of this make sense? I would appreciate your help! Barb
