I shall be visiting Assam in January 2009. Does anyone have any tips for hotel accommodation in Tezpur and North Lakhimpur. I am looking for the best available hotels, but of course I am not expecting four-star comfort.

I'll be in Guwahati, State of Assam, 4 and 5 November 2007; I am looking for a very budget friendly accomodation: a hotel, or any sort of accomodation, as long as it is a safe one, of course, for 1 person for two days. I will arrive at the Guwahati airport at about 7 pm, 4 November: is there an info point there, so that I won't have a hard time finding an accomodation without booking first ? I'd like to have a very downtown place to stay: is there some sort of shuttle to and from the airport ?

One more point: is there the Guwahati old town where one can get the flavor of non modern India ?

We're planning a trip to North-India for december this year. We also want to go to the
Darjeeling area. But how is the weather there in december? I heard it can be pretty cold there

I wish to travel to beautiful Assam in April/May, from Toronto Canada. Could anyone please tell me the favoured route to use i.e. Delhi or Calcutta? I like meeting people, have heard assamese are very friendly. I love beautiful scenery. Have read they have lots of it. I'd like to know some budget hotels in Guwahati so I can visit the nearby temples.

Question about sightseeing in Tezpur: Is the Bhairabhi temple the same place as the Ancient remains of the Bamuni Hills ? Thanks.

I will be in Sikkim and then planned on going to Gauhadi Assam,around early March 2004. Is it worthwhile to take that time and can I see animals in wild there??Any and all suggestions appreciated. Travel solo and not into trekking, older man so sightseeing etc my priority. Aloha "O"
