| Foz do Iguaçu | Visiting Paraguay Posted: Tue June 5, 2007 08:41 AM UTC
Hi VT´ers.
Im visting Puerto Iguazu for one day in September and then crossing over to Foz for one night from where I have a flight to Rio de Janeiro. Since I really like to visit Paraguay then I was wondering wether it would be better to cross over from the Argentina-side or the Brazilian-side? I hope you dont mind that I posted the same question on the Puerto Iguazu-forum. Með fyrirfram þökk fyrir hjálpina :) Bearzy. |

| Foz do Iguaçu | From Foz to Puerto Iguazu Posted: Mon April 30, 2007 03:49 AM UTC
A few questions:
What is the best way to get from Foz do Iguacu to Puerto Iguazu? By bus or Taxi and about how much was the trip? How long is the trip between the two cities? I have read about the difference between both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls and plan to spend the bulk of my time on the Argentine side. However, I was wondering how much time I should spend on the Brazilian side. I will have a Brazilian passport so there is no problem there. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Bus tickets in advance??? Posted: Mon March 26, 2007 06:55 PM UTC
Hi, Sadly we don't have much time on our trip and must stick to planned dates, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a website where I can buy my tickets from Curitiba to Foz do Iguacu in advance and tickets from Foz do Iguacu to Campo Grande too. I saw Catarinense (running a Curitiba-Foz do Iguacu route) has an online buying area, but it is only for Brazilian nationals. And Eucatur (running the Foz do Iguacu-Campo Grande route) doesn't offer online purchases.
We really don't want to miss the buses we need to be on to keep the itinerary. Any suggestions??? |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay Posted: Fri January 12, 2007 12:47 AM UTC
Hi!
Im from Iceland and I and my girlfriend are coming to Brazil (& hopefully as much of S-America that we can cover) in September. Coming from far away we of course want to maximize our time there. Our plan is to check-out the Brazilian side and the Argentina side in 1 day? Is that to optimistic? Then I was wondering if the Paraguyan-side was worth the visit? Ive heard about a tax free paradise but we dont want to buy anything since we would have to carry it a round for the whole time. So is there anything else to do there except shopping? Some nice cafés and watching interesting culture is sufficient! So does somebody recommend it? Thanks! Bearzy |

Hello, I'll read through all the posts later, sorry please excuse if I am asking a question that has been replied already.
Me, white chick, and my boyfriend, Taiwanese, will be travelling to Brazil mid September. Our travel agent has helped us book hotels. In Iguacu we are booked for the above hotel. Question: How do we easierst and safest get there from IGU airport. Is this area save? Can we walk around during the day / during the evening without being afraid of being robbed? Sorry, first time to S. America and a little worried. Thanks for your help! |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Luggage Storage & Foz Itinerary Posted: Fri August 25, 2006 05:28 PM UTC
I'm arriving to Foz do Iguacu by plane on the Brazilian side around 2pm. I want see the falls from the Brazilian side properly before I across over to Argentina (where I'll be spending the 2 night). Is there somewhere I can safely leave my backup until I'm ready to cross over to Argentina?
I plan to spend the next day on Argentinian side ...and maybe cross over to Paraguay...just to say I've been there...LOL :-P. The day after that I will have the whole morning and part of the afternoon until I take the bus to Buenos Aires. I may take the earlier buses so I can stop at the Jesuit Mission...does that sound feasible? |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Buses between the falls and the pantanal? Posted: Thu May 25, 2006 09:47 PM UTC
Hello - I would like to take a bus from Foz do Iguaçu to the pantanal. I know there are a few cities there and I think Campo Grande is the biggest. But so far I've not had any luck finding buses that run between the two in my guide books and on line. Before I book flights to get from the pantanal to Rio, I want to make sure I'll be able to get to campo grande etc in the first place! Any names of bus companies/website I can look into?
Thanks, Rose |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Visiting Argentine side from Brazil Posted: Sun March 19, 2006 06:05 PM UTC
Hi, I am in Foz Do Iguacu at the moment. I want to visit the Argentine side tomorrow. Do I need to pay anything at the border. I am from the UK and have no dollars or pesos. I am planning to catch the bus from Foz to Puerto and then a bus up to the falls. I am hoping to get some pesos in Puerto bus station for the bus trip up to the falls and back to Foz. Any help on this would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Colin.

| Foz do Iguaçu | Getting around - car/taxi/bus? Posted: Mon February 6, 2006 11:31 PM UTC
Hello to all,
Hope somebody will be able to help me with some advice. I will be arriving in Foz do Iguacu at 11:30 pm on a Friday. I'll be there all day long on Saturday but I'll be leaving at 7:30 am on Sunday. So basically I have one full day to explore the falls. I thought about renting a car from the AVIS airport location. The only problem is that they close at 5:30 pm on Friday and they open only at 9 am on Sunday and hence they are closed both when I want to rent the car and when I want to return it. The question is... even if I can make some arrangements with AVIS so that I can rent this car, is it worth it or I'd be better off tacking some taxi or bus? On Saturday I want to wake up as early as possible and try to do both sides of the falls - brazilian and argentinean. Is this doable if I have a rented car? (I'll be staying with my wife at the Continental Inn) Thanks a lot, Gabriel |

| Foz do Iguaçu | 2 days in Iguacu Posted: Thu February 2, 2006 03:42 PM UTC
Hi I´m spending just under 2 days in the Iguacu area, arriving in the Brazilian side early afternoon on 7th March, leaving Argentinian side early afternoon on 9th March. What is the best way I could plan my trip. I am thinking of spending one night in each side in the cities. Is it possible to see the falls in the afternoon or just the morning. I´m also very interested in doing the speedboat trip under the falls. Do I need to allow time for crossing the border as I´ll be spending 3 months in Argentina after crossing the border?
Can anyone help me plan these 2 days so I can get as much in as possible. Thanks |

| Foz do Iguaçu | Specific Safety Posted: Tue October 18, 2005 09:13 PM UTC
I am thinking about flying from Rio to Foz early December and staying at Paudmir hostel. The two flights I am thinking about taking (through Gol) would get me there at either 12:30 at night or 1:30 in the afternoon. If I do the night one, I have two full days at the falls, if I do the afternoon one, I would have about a day and a quarter. I am not sure how safe it would be for me to arrive that late and how easy it would be to get to the hostel? Any help? I´m early 20´s, female and will be travelling alone.
