Manaus True Massage

I'm going to be staying at the Tropical Manaus Resort in Manaus. Does anyone have a suggest where I might get a "safe" Swedish Massage. I don't want a candle and incense session, but a true deep tissue massage.

Manaus Opinion about ECO-DISCOVERY TOURS ?
Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 05:43 PM UTC
Hi, I'm off to Brazil in September and I will visit Manaus for 2 weeks. I want to book a jungle/boat tour but it's a 'jungle' out there and I don't want to choose a wrong operator.

I checked Amazons and Swallows tours but they're very expensive. On the other hand I found Eco-discovery tours which have reasonable prices for pretty much the same service.

What is your opinion on Eco-discovery tours? Are they reliable? Any good/bad experiences with them?

I'd really appreciate your help with this, It's my first time in Brazil and I don't want to regret it.

Cheers,

Gerry

Manaus Tour guides
Posted: Fri July 14, 2006 05:31 PM UTC
My husband and I will be in Manaus in January 2007, arriving on the Regal Princess. We are traveling with two other couples. We are looking for an English speaking private tour guide who is willing to show us the sights for a day. We hate taking the ship's excursions because they have no individuality and the thought of being herded like cattle on tours buses does not appeal to us. Any one have a name of someone who provides tours of the city? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lu

Manaus City tours in Manaus
Posted: Thu June 15, 2006 01:32 PM UTC
Hello, a colleague of mine is looking for a one day city tour of Manaus. I checked out some tours on the web, but the prices were exhorbitant, around R$500 for a whole day. I am looking for someone who will provide a tour around the popular tourist sites, for example: teatro, mercado publico, floating docks, INPA, Bosque de ciencia.

I would appreciate it if someone could recommend a city guide/tour, preferably ones that leave in groups.

Thank you

Manaus Searching for a guide.
Posted: Fri June 9, 2006 12:58 AM UTC
A friend of mine and I are coming from London in November and are looking for a guide to take us deep into the forest cause we're shooting a documentary about the flora, fauna and undiscovered tribes of the Amazon. Obviously a Tour Operator cannot help us, that's why we're looking idealy for a local (English speaking) guide who's willing to take us there for such a long period.

Manaus Have you Been to Manaus
Posted: Thu May 25, 2006 07:12 AM UTC
This is our second trip to Brazil and during the first we visited Rio, Slavador Bahia, Receife Curbitia, Paraty,Receife, Olinda, Sao Luiz but not Manaus. I chose to visit Lençóis Maranhenses instead of Manaus. This time we are thinking of visitng Manaus and I would like to get others opinons. We do not want to take a jungle tour but would do just a day trip to the meeting of the waters.
while you're I could use some hotel recommendations near the area where the sights are within walking distance and the are is safe to walk around in the evening.

Manaus Iguana Boat Tours in the Amazon
Posted: Mon May 8, 2006 03:18 PM UTC
Hi,

We want to book a boat tour in the Amazon for 4 days and 3 nights (from 29th July to 1st August 2006), departing and returning from/to Manaus. The tour is organised by Iguana Tours: http://www.amazonbrasil.com.br/1index.php?vart=3&var=boatexpedition3. We read some pretty good reviews about them (including some on this website) so it should hopefully be good. The thing is that there need to be a minimum of 4 people for this tour and at the moment there are just the two of us. It's cheaper than other places we found: it costs U$85 per person per day - you can check out the itinerary on their website. Sleeping on hammocks on the boat seems like a nice touch.

Manaus Manaus hotel suggestions
Posted: Thu February 16, 2006 09:38 PM UTC
Hi, I've booked an amazon lodge and me and my two friends would like to stay in a nice hotel the night before and after the lodge, I want somewhere with an outdoor pool so I can chill out and relax.
I'd love to stay in the Tropical Manaus but it's just too expensive, we dont want to pay more than £70 for a triple room for a night.
Any suggestions please? What region of Manaus should I be looking at?
Thanks

Manaus Getting from Caracas to Manaus
Posted: Sat January 7, 2006 08:56 AM UTC
I have been looking for ways to get from Caracas to Manaus on the web and have not had much luck. Flights from Caracas seem to go in all directions except Manaus. It seems I would have to fly either to Rio, Santa Cruz or Miami to get to Manaus – which all seem ludicrous to me. I haven’t been able to identify any bus routes that go further south than Ciudad Bolivar either.

Could someone suggest either a quick way to get from Caracas to Manaus (ie more direct flight) or an interesting way to get between these cities (ie, by land).

Thanks

Manaus Brazil to Peru
Posted: Tue November 8, 2005 08:37 PM UTC
Has anyone got experience in travelling over-land from Brazil to Peru via the Amazon. I have a friend in Barcelos who is prepared to run us up the river on his boat doing a combined river / jungle tour but we then want to investigate if we can go further through to Peru.

If so, is it safe and how difficult is it to do?

Thanks

Manaus day hike
Posted: Wed October 26, 2005 09:19 PM UTC
I will only have a couple of free days during my trip to Manaus, and was thinking about a one day hike as one of the days. Does anyone know of local areas that have good day hiking? I don't want it to be too far away, since I will need to first convince a relative to hike, then convince that relative to take us there...

Manaus 4 days tour from Manaus to Amazon
Posted: Wed August 24, 2005 07:45 PM UTC
Hi!
My name is Darek I am Polish. Now I am in Brasil in Curitiba. I will be in Manaus 25-29.09 and I would like to make some tour to forest and river - just to see as much as it is possible. Could you tell me where should I look for company, and do you know any cheap and good companies? I've found only negative opinions about tours but nobody said anything about some good experience.
What can I do in 4 days? I prefere to spend all time making some trips, not in the city.
I will arrive on Sunday 13:00. Is everything open on sunday?? What would you do to find tour and hostel the same day??
I will be grateful for every help.
Does somebody plan to make similar trip in the same time? If so please contect me: yavor@o2.pl
Thanks!!

My girlfriend and me will stay next January for one week in manaus. We intend to explore the wildlife and the nature. Our question is, if it's necessary to book trips in advance or it's is easy possible to find good options in manaus when we arriving there?
Can you recommend a tour-operator?

Manaus Amazon Trips? Getting into the basin, Bolivia, or Peru from Manaus?
Posted: Sat August 20, 2005 09:29 PM UTC
HI there, we have nearly 3 weeks to spend in the Amazon.

Can anyone recommend some really nice ranforests in the Amazon? I am hearing from a lot of people that the actual Amazonas area is not that nice... A bit spoilt?

Is it possible to go from Manaus into Bolivia (we want to go to Madidi) and then across to Peru?

If you have no idea to the answer of these questions, any suggestions as per itinerary would be really helpful! We are booked to fly out of Lima so we HAVE to go upstream unfortunately.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
