hi guys! I have planned a trip to simla with hubby from 26-29 October.We are doctors and we have managed this trip after long planning.plz let us know how we can best utilize our time. we are fun loving and admirer of natural beauty.will there be snow during our stay? also I have read that stay in Kufri is better and cheaper. Is that true? should we take tour packages or rely on booking at spot?

Does anyone know if camping gas cartridges (threaded type/ lightweight)are available in either Manali or Shimla?
I'm about to embark on a cycling trip and would prefer to take gas stove rather than kerosene. I understand from a friend just returned from there that gas is available in several places in Leh up in Ladakh, but thats at the far end of my proposed trip.
Any help appreciated.

I am planning to stay in Hotel Bhrigu. I know it is not a classy place and is dirt cheap, can anyone share any experience staying in this hotel.

Also will I get to see snow now in rohtang? I am going in mid July.

We are planning trip from to Vaishnodevi and then Himachal. Dharamashala,Palampur,Jogindernagar, Mandi,Kullu,Manali...then back to Mandi,Bilaspur,chandigarh.

1. Most sites says monsoon starts in July, so how will be weather in end of June? If rain then heavy or just shower in this season? Not aware of landsliding,but is it risky?

2. Apart from these well known tourist places other places which are not so known but where can be close to nature.

3. More info about route from Bilaspur to Chandigarh or Delhi.

I am planning to travel shimla for 3 days ...

I am reaching shimla at 11 AM in the morning on next friday and leaving on Monday around 5 PM ...

Could u pls suggest me what places I can see in Shimla on arrival day-friday ( I have around 7 Hours) and departure day - Monday (on that day I have time till 5 PM.)

Sunday is reserved for Kuri / chail tour.

How is weather there in September/October? Do you recommend visiting places like Sangla and Kaza in September/October?

we have booked four days accomodation in dharamsala(club mahindra)we have another five days of holiday time.which place near dharamsala would you recommend to spend those days?we want a place that is quiet and beautiful and relaxing.is it worth booking accomodation in mcleodganj for the next five days or is it better to go to another place in himachal pradesh like spiti or kulu/manali?any suggestions would be welcome.

We are planning a holiday in summer (may- june)we have allocated four nights in Dharamsala.Is this adequate time to see the places around Dharamsala?How to reach Dharamsala from Corbett?I have been browsing on the indian railways website and am not getting any connectivity,though others have told me that there are trains from Ramnagar(corbett) to Pathankote(which is near dharamshala).Please provide details of trains.

Hi all,

We are very interested in taking one of the toy trains from Kalka to Shimla. However, as we will be based in Delhi, we need to set out from there. My current plan is to take the Kalka Shatabdi from Delhi at 7:40am, reaching Kalka at 11:45am. I then plan to take the Himalayan Queen Express which departs Kalka at 12:10pm. However, I am concerned about what would happen if the train from Delhi is late for any reason. Will the Himalayan Queen wait for the Delhi train or will it simply depart on schedule ? Since the whole point of this exercise is for us to experience the toy train, I don't want to take alternative transportation between Kalka and Shimla.

I would really appreciate someone advising about this.

Please recommend Airlines that fly from Delhi to Simla return. Will also need a 4-5 star Hotel in the centre of the Town for a young family. Will there be snow in early January. Which Hotels do we get mountain views from.

Pramod here, Myself and few of my friends are planned to visit Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Rothang Pass, Leh, Kardung la, Kashmir, Jammu from September 20th to Septmber 30th.
I love snow, so am very much willing to experience the snow. Will it be snowing at that time in any of the places am visiting..
