Banks in Garda, Lake Garda? Posted: Tue February 24, 2009 02:03 PM UTC
We are staying at the Regina Adelaide Hotel and want to pay our bill in cash, as you get a discount if doing so. I assume that you can't just go and withdraw £4000 from an ATM/Bancomat. Which banks are in Garda town and will we be able to go into any bank with a Nationwide or RBS debit card and withdraw money?

Where is best to stay? Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 10:45 PM UTC
Hi, I will be visiting Lake Garda in the beginning of August after a few days in Tuscany. I will be travelling by car. I am hoping to find lodging at San Zeno di Montagna. Can anyone tell me something about this place, for example any restaurants if there are any beautiful views of the mountains and the lake? If there are any special attractions? If in the evening I visit some other place by the lake will it be crowded and would I find a place to park my car? I tried to find information about this place but I did not find much and I really would like to know more about it.
Thanks a lot hope that you will give me some advice!!
Best regards
Stephen

Tradtional bars and cafes in Garda and Bardolino Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 11:16 AM UTC
Hi
I am visiting Garda in August (to the La Perla Hotel) and I am trying to find out about more tradional bars (and cafes) in the Garda and Bardolino towns - the sort of places the locals are more likely to use than tourists. Are there any such places or are the towns completely tourist dominated? Surely there must be places where the locals go to drink and chat and perhaps watch the football etc?
Thanks in advance for any help

Garda, Bancomat (ATM) and restaurants Posted: Mon March 6, 2006 05:09 PM UTC
Hi
We are visiting Garda in May and would like to know if ATM's are plentiful in the town as we aren't planning on bringing many Euro's and prefer to withdraw cash as needed.
Also this is a holiday for our 1st wedding anniversary and are looking for a recommended vegetarian friendly restaurant for our anniversary meal.
Thanks

Typical costs Posted: Fri April 29, 2005 01:46 PM UTC
I am travelling to Lake Garda next week and was wondering whether eating and drinking in bars and restaurants was expensive in comparison with the UK.
Also we are going to Venice for 2 days - any suggestions of where we should eat?
I have heard some horror stories about eating fish/seafood.

Public transportation from Verona airport to Sirmione (Columbare)? Posted: Wed April 6, 2005 11:04 PM UTC
Hi!
I guess this is a similar question to Jayne's (see the other question).
We are planning to make a trip to Sirmione, and more precisely, to Columbare, where we are staying at the Mirabello hotel (Via XXV Aprile, 100 - 25019 Sirmione). What is the best way to get to our hotel from Verona airport?
This far I've given these options:
1) A shuttle service from the airport to Verona town, where transfer to a direct bus to Sirmione?
2) A shuttle.., where transfer to a train to Desenzano, and then a taxi to Sirmione?
3) A taxi from the airport to Sirmione?
Which of these three options is the best one, and what is the cost?
Do you have any ideas where to look for the schedules and rates?
Have you any extra options on top of these three mentioned?
All the answers will be highly appreciated!
Thanks!
Greetings from Finland!

rent a car Posted: Sat February 26, 2005 03:02 PM UTC
We are going to Lake Garda end of May. Is it worth it to rent a car while we are there, or is it just as easy to use the lake and locale transportation? We also will be flying ito Milan. We plan on taking the train from Milan to Verona, then being picked up there by the hotel shuttle service, is the easiest way to get there. I did not find a train from Milan to Lake Garda, is this correct? Thanks for any advise. sincerely Cathymo

Public transport from Verona airport to Sirmione Lake Garda Posted: Tue March 23, 2004 12:21 AM UTC
We are travelling to Lake Garda (Sirmione) on 25th March and would be very grateful if anyone can tell us the best way to get there via public transport.
We gather there are a couple of train stations in Verona, Porta Nuova and Villafranca di Verona and trains go to Desenzano del Garda where you can get a ferry to Sirmione but
1. How do you get to Verona from Verona airport?
2 Which of the two stations do we need to go to for a train to Desenzano del Garda?
3. Is it possible to go straight from Verona airport to Lake Garda by public transport?
We also think there are buses but could only find two listed on the website - both going before 7am in the morning. Does anyone know if there are more buses than this and the address of the bus station in Verona?
All help will be gratefully received.
