Lago di Garda Lake Garda on my own
Posted: Mon March 17, 2008 02:54 PM UTC
Hi there,
I plan on traveling to lake Garda on my own in July either from Austria or from Rome.( I am Backpacking Europe) What is the safest and easiest way to get there? (I don't have a car) Is there a bus or a train to take.
Which town at lake Garda is the easiest to get to, but still very beautiful? Any Hotel suggestions?
Or is there even a tour for younger people around Lake Garda?

Thanks a mil for any replies :) it will help me a lot!!

Lago di Garda Train travel from venice to lago di garda, where to stay, what to do
Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 05:36 PM UTC
Hi
My partner and I plan to fly in to Venice and stay there for about 3 nights of an 8 day holiday in italy. Do you think this is the best way to plit the holiday up? Wherd do you think we should spend most of our time? It is our first time to Italy and we love old towns, walks, scenery and nature and places to chill out.
Can we get an open return ticket to garda? Is it very dear? Do the trains run everyday?
We dont have lots of money but love quirky, rather than modern places to stay (no camping). Where would you suggest and why?
Where should we stay around the lake given how we like to spend our time and my wish to go out on boat, maybe get up into the hills and/or nearest mountains.
Hope that you can help
thanks

Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 07:41 AM UTC
Hi

I am thinking of taking a short break in Lake Garda - probably Malcesine, in March. Can someone tell me if restaurants and businesses will be open during this time or does everything tend to shut done out of season?

Thanks

Lago di Garda Visiting the dolomites from Garda
Posted: Sun October 28, 2007 10:40 PM UTC
Hi, myself and a friend are visiting lake garda and staying in garda next May. We have been before in 2005 but only for a couple of days. This time we would like to visit the dolomites. Is it better to go on an organised tour or do it yourself. We have no transport so it would be train/bus. Also how much would it cost and where should we go in the dolomite region. We would only be going on a day trip.

I've just booked a trip for my wife and I in late September for 10 days in the Hotel Benaco in Garda. Can anyone offer any advice/recommendations on transfers between Verona Airport and Garda? Also, any general advice on train travel around Italy? Affordable, dependable? Best to book in advance? Many thanks for your help.

Lago di Garda Getting to Garda
Posted: Wed June 27, 2007 11:53 AM UTC
Hi there,

What is best way to travel to Garda from Milano or Munchen? I heard that it's easy and cheap to travel there with train and bus.

Garda is one best places in Europe to practise windsurfing and other outdoor activities.

Thanks in advance :-)

Lago di Garda TRAVEL INFO

I am staying at Brenzone (Nr Garda) in September, can anyone tell me the best way to get to Venice. We really do not want to go on a Coach Tour. When staying at Salo in May we took a train from Desenzano to Venice. I am wondering if there is a Train from the Garda side of the Lake that goes via
Verona.

Lago di Garda Anybody know the Hotel Le Balze?
Posted: Sun June 3, 2007 04:20 PM UTC
I'm trying to decide on a hotel to stay at in September on or near Lake Garda, and I found a website for a Hotel Le Balze, which sounds nice, at Garda Heights. However, it's not on Trip Advisor nor Expedia so was wondering whether anyone's stayed there. It's own website doesn't answer a lot of questions!

Lago di Garda Verona airport returning from Padenghe
Posted: Tue May 1, 2007 11:00 PM UTC
I am most concerned about my RETURN to Verona Airport in late September from Padenghe about 4km from Desenzano. I was quoted 80e for transport from a local company for 2 people and our bags. Does anyone have other information regarding our options? Does this sound expensive?
Getting there we can take the train as we arrive early in the AM with the week ahead and planned to leave our bags at the train station and enjoy the day in Verona . Getting home we must be timely and can't afford to rely on public transport .

Thanks

Lago di Garda Windsurfing

My partner and I are staying at a campsite near Salo in June. He is a keen windsurfer and I believe Torbole, Malcesine and Limone are good areas to surf. Does anybody know how easy it is to get to these places and hire equipment as we won't have a car.

Many thanks

Lago di Garda Lago di Garda Last minute change
Posted: Fri March 16, 2007 03:53 AM UTC
I was supposed to go to Rome, but now I have am looking to stay in Lago di Garda during Easter week if I can find accomodations. My friend is in Limone but I will have no transportation and would like to be able to take day trips to surrounding areas.
I don't want to depend on their schedule being available for me so I would like to place myself in an area nearby with things to do.
Which town is it best to stay in for someone traveling solo, near Limone. No nightlife necessary - but things to do in the area, hike, walk, and cafes - restaurants.
Any help is welcome. Suggestions? Hotels? Daytrips? Weather/packing tips.
