Hello fellow members,
I'm arriving in Salvador for the first time this Thursday, the 26th, and plan to look for a flat in or near Barra. I would be gratefull for any advice you could give me regarding looking for flats, recommended hostels in Barra to stay in while I look for a flat, etc. And if you're available to meet me for coffee to tell me about the area and where I should and should not venture, that would be very helpfull too. I'll be spending 3 weeks in Salvador, Brazil in August. Do women wear white dresses, pants and skirts in winter (August) in Brazil or do they favor darker colors?

Also, should I buy travelers checks or rely on ATM machines. Obrigada!

I am going to be in Salvador for two nights only in June. We are two 20 something females that would like to stay in a nice hotel in Barra. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone know of someone or companies that rents our reasonably priced apartment or flats in salvador bahia. I would prefer the barra area or pelourinho as second choice. please help??
