Hi,
I am from bangalore. My passport has expired and is currently in renewal. Do I need a passport or any sort of permit to visit Maldives? Or is it like traveling to an other Indian state where your license or any ID will do?

Thanks
Priya

I am from Pune, India.

I would be getting married in July '08. I and my fiance have decided on honeymoon in Lakshwadeep in July.

It would really help a lot if any one can please tell me about how the weather is during that period?

Are there any special honeymoon packages? Any resort which is absolutely recommended for honeymooners? Is it extremely pricey?

Regards,
Ketan

Hi,

I am trying to organise a 3 night stay in Kadmat for early Jan 07.

I have been in touch with Lacadives Mumbai who are able to arrange permit, ship ticket and accomodation in Kadmat.

Can anyone say if the ship is reliable or subject to delays. And what the crossing is like - I get very seasick.

Also does anyone know what lacadives Mumbai are like.

Thanks in advance.

I plan to visit Agatti island(part of lakshadweep) in the first week of August.
I am not certain about the condition out there at that time of the year.Does it keep raining the entire day, or would i get to spend time on the beach !!

How much would a trip for 5 days to that place cost me ?

How good/bad is the ship journey from cochin to Agatti ??

If anybody got any info, plz do let me know.

Hi all,

i was planning a visit to Lakshadweep for 7-10 days in Nov'05. I need info. I planned to fly down as my wife gets sea sick quickly. We are keen on water sports like scuba diving, sailing & kayakking.

I need suggestion on weather during Nov. Also had this rough thing planned out please tell me

land in Agatti spend 2-3 days then travel to kavaratti & Bangaram island for 2-3 days each hence a total of 7-9 odds in all. I plan to travel between island on boat itself i think that will be the cheapest option left for me.
Suggestion to stay in all 3 island. Do you think i should visit other island too? Can you suggest me an agency or local contact fo bookings.

I am a Indian citizen.

thanks

Could anybody recommend a very cheap, down to earth accomodation at the beach front in lakshadweep, similar to the long term rentals in Goa. Also when is the time in which i would hav to spend comparitively less than the peak season.

Awaiting your advice.....Vinod

hello,
I am planning to go backpacking in asia for 6 months. doing my research, I came across Lakshadweep isle. I had never heard of it before. I realize you can not go there as a "backpacker" and am considering to actually spend some money (I can hear Indian board of tourism's sigh of relief) and turn into a cruise ship/resort person for a few days just to see the place. BUT is it worth it? does anyone know anything about these isle? kalpeni looks like the best one? any info is welcomed.

I want to visit Bangram next year in the first week or two of September. I have read that the Southwest monsoon lasts until the middle of September so I would catch the tail end of it. Does anybody know what the weather is likely to be like at this time? Is it likely to rain consistantly or just in patches? And will there still be some sunshine?

Thanks!

These must be just about the most difficult islands in the world to find info on!

Wrldtravler has given some great info on them on Virtual Tourist, but I am unable to contact him by email, so am now looking elsewhere.

Ideally, I'd like to make email contact with someone who has visited to ask some fairly specific Qs, but in the meantime feedback on places to stay other than Bangaram and Agatti Island Resort would be great, and also any tips about how far accommodation is likely to be from places to eat, would be very much appreciated.
