How much time in Mumbai? Posted: Fri April 4, 2008 10:03 AM UTC
How much time would you recommend spending in Mumbai as a tourist?
There's a special on Kenya Airways to fly to Mumbai, and we basically want to take a handful of days there, but is 3 enough or is a longer stay like 5 or 6 days necessary?
Please don't say we need a month in Mumbai or 3 months to see all of India - we can spend only a handful of days in Mumbai only. We know India is a big country and that there are many, many more places to see elsewhere in the country, but we're doing only Mumbai this time.
We don't need to spend days and days shopping, and we get bored sitting in cafes and eating all the time. So we can pack a lot into each day and move around a lot.

Which destinations are feasible to see from Mumbai in two days? Posted: Sat February 23, 2008 11:06 AM UTC
Hi there!
I will be working in Dharavi slums in Mumbai from 2nd of May till the 14th and then I have only 2 days till the 17th to visit some places in India. I have to be back to Mumbai on the 17th to catch my flight back to London, U.K.
I would like to know what can you do in those 2 days? I'm not interested in Goa as it's full with Western tourists and doesn't represent India at all. When I think of India, the images of Varanasi and Armitsar come to my mind, but it seems to be too far away.
Would it be possible to visit Jaipur and other sites in Rhajastan? I want to see the temples, ancient architecture.
I am also on a tight budget as I'm finishing my degree in urban development therefore cannot afford to take flights or any other expensive means of transportation or expensive hotels.
How are the local buses and trains?
I would appreciate your feedback, dear travellers.
Cheers,
ronaldpk

Mumbai International Airport Posted: Tue February 12, 2008 07:53 AM UTC
Hi, i was just wondering if anyone knows if the Mumbai International airport has a Lockup storage for baggage?
We will be stopping in India for a two week holiday on our way home to Australia. So we will have extra baggage we would rather not carry around on our trip. Any ideas?
I know some airports have lockers you can hire to store stuff in.
Thankyou for your help.

Money exchange Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 02:09 PM UTC
I'm coming to Mumbai next week from England and travelling also in Gujarat & Rajasthan. I'll be travelling in India for a month. How and where can I get Indian Rupees? I have UK debit cards and credit cards and could bring some sterling in cash. However, I'd prefer not to carry too much cash. Is it easy to use a bank debit card to get cash? Should I buy travellers'cheques from somewhere like Thomas Cook?
Any help will be gratefully received, thanks.

over night train to Delhi Posted: Mon January 28, 2008 10:02 AM UTC
If somebody would be kind enough to post some advice.
I am interested in knowing if advisable for a first time visitor to India to take the overnight express ( Rajdhani Express ) to Delhi .
Is it slow and annoying or a pleasant experience ?
Is first class Air Con comfortable to sleep ? WE are three , two adults one child .
Lastly , what middle range hotel would you recommend for one night in Mumbai , arriving kind of late (10 pm ) at the international airport ?
Thanks for your time !
