São Paulo What kind of Transportation from Sao Paulo to Santos Cruise-Harbour recommended?
Posted: Wed January 7, 2009 10:51 PM UTC
Hello Cruiser,
we decided to go onto a cruise with the RCCL Radiance from Sao Paulo to Chile.
Now we would need some Recommendations:
Can you tell us, how we get safe and cheap w/ Luggage from:
- Airport (GRU) to the S.P.City?
- Sao Paulo City to Santos - Harbour for Cruiseships?

And when we arrive at the End of the cruise in Santiago de Chile - can you recommend Transportation from Valparaiso to the Santiago de Chile City?
If you have further any Infos or Recomm. for Hotels in SP or Sant.d.C. I´d be more than happy.
Thank you so much.

São Paulo My first trip to Sao Paulo! Suggestions?
Posted: Wed December 17, 2008 04:01 PM UTC
My friend and I are taking our first trip to Sao Paulo December 29-January 2. We'll be there over New Year's Eve and I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for New Year's activities? What are some of the more popular, safer places Paulistas gather on New Year's? Also, if anyone could recommend 3-5 "must do" activities, it would be much appreciated!

Obrigado,
Kemp

São Paulo Cheap flights - SP to Lima
Posted: Tue December 9, 2008 06:23 AM UTC
Hi all,
I'm looking for budget flights to Lima, so far, my search on expedia has provided me with a USD600 (flying from SP) as the cheapest. Is that the normal price ? (one way)

Would there be any airlines you can recommend? GOL does not fly direct and LAN / TAM comes up with a USD600 price tag.

Thanks All!

São Paulo best way to Santos from GRU
Posted: Sat December 6, 2008 05:39 PM UTC
My family is flying into GRU and cruising out of Santos. The cruise line offers transfers for $45 (US) per person. What is the distance/time to the pier? Since there are four of us (plus luggage), would we be better off taking a taxi, or spending $180 for transfers?

São Paulo SP to Rio by car - Is the coastal road much more scenic than the inland road?
Posted: Wed November 26, 2008 07:13 AM UTC
To really get the true flavor of Brazil, we would like to travel by car from Santos cruise ship port (if there are rental places nearby) to Rio. We've also heard Buzios is well worth seeing. Any comments? We would probably stay overnight in Paraty, we don't want to drive in SP or Rio (I've read the comments about that!) Are minivan rentals pretty reasonable? What are the gas prices like? Would it be advisable to drive knowing only English and/or Italian? (We would have a dictionary of course). Would we expect to have pretty hot weather near the end of Dec.? Rain? Any advice/comments would be appreciated! Thanks, Debbi

São Paulo SECURE Luggage storage & distance from the cruise ship terminals to the airport (GRU)
Posted: Mon November 24, 2008 08:17 AM UTC
We are a group of 5 getting off of a cruise in Sao Paulo with considerable luggage. We want to sightsee for 4 or 5 days before returning home. I see previous inquires stating that there are luggage storage places at the buses & airports, I'm wondering how secure they are, & would it be expensive to store 5 or 6 suitcases, & the best place. If it's not too much hassle to go to the airpot to store it, that would be ideal. We would probably have some valuables like laptops etc., so very concerned about security. From what I've read here it sounds like it would be better to not carry our valuables with us. Thanks for any help! Debbi

São Paulo COACH/BUS TO IGUASSU FALLS FROM SAO PAULO AND THEN RETURN
Posted: Wed November 19, 2008 09:15 PM UTC
Hi All,

We are very interested in staying at Yacutinga Lodge at Iguassu falls. And we are thinking of traveling to Iguassu falls by coach from Sao Paulo and then return (not by plane).

I have been told that a company called Pluma does offer this coach service. However when i go on the website i can not access any timetables or prices.

Does anyone know what evenings these coaches go to Iguassu falls and return to Sao Paulo?

We are thinking of travelling to Iguassu falls from Sao Paulo on a Saturday evening. And we are thinking of returning back to Sao Paulo from Iguassu Falls on a Tuesday evening.

Costs also would be very helpful.

Thanks for any help....

São Paulo Commuting from GRU to CWB
Posted: Thu November 6, 2008 01:27 AM UTC
I'm looking to get from GRU to CWB (Curitiba) via train, since the air-fares are absolutely unaffordable. Is there a line betweeen these cities, and if so, where is it in relation to the airport and is there a web link? Must tickets be purchased in advance here in the States, and or, about how much are they and how long is the trip?

Thanks,

Hi
I just returned from Sao Paulo, there only 4 days return in November for two weeks. Am working at the Fundaceo Bienale in Ipirapuera park. Staying in a nice hotel in Moema...producing a play for the 20th Sao Paulo Bienale. When I was their I coudnt figure out how , except via taxi, to just cruise the city...Buses were so crowded and I couldnt find the underground and I dont speak the language..difficult being a tourist especially with limited time....I am looking for someone to act as a guide to show me some of the stuff...Most the time I will be working but I dont want to go to Sao Paulo and only see the inside of the Fundaceo Bienele in the park but I can tell that getting around on my own will not work.

São Paulo Vaccination for Yellow Fever needed when coming from Argentina

Hi,
I`m a European and I will stay a few weeks in Buenos Aires and plan my return trip to Europe travelling on land to Brazil- Sao Paulo where I will board a plane back to Madrid.
Does anybody know if you need a yellow fever vaccination when crossing the border? I have heard that in some South American countries this vaccination is needed if you are in one of the other countries but I don't remember which countries those were.
Cheers,

São Paulo Casas para estrangeiros
Posted: Wed August 27, 2008 05:09 AM UTC

Alguém conhece algo desse tipo aqui no Brasil?

Abraços a todos

São Paulo Sao Paulo to Goiania
Posted: Wed August 13, 2008 05:14 AM UTC
I'm a brand new international traveler and I could really use your help. My husband and I will be traveling on Delta Airlines from the USA to Sao Paulo. We layover at GRU for about six hours. From Sao Paulo we take TAM to Goiania. When we go through customs in Sao Paulo, will we be expected to retrieve our luggage to go through customs and then recheck it with TAM or will it be automatically forwarded to TAM from Delta without us retrieving it? I'm very uncertain about the whole process and want to be as prepared as possible.

Thank all of you so much for your advice and wisdom! I really appreciate it!!
