Boats to Cinque Terre Posted: Wed September 2, 2009 06:20 PM UTC
Hi, My husband and I will be traveling to Vernazza, from Florence on September 22nd. We are planning to take the train from Florence to La Spezia, but we would like to travel by boat from La Spezia to Vernazza.
How do I get a boat schedule? Do we need a reservation on a boat, or just show up? Is it too far to walk with our suitcases from the train station to the boat docks? Thank you for your help and advice.

from La Spezia to Fiumicino Posted: Fri June 5, 2009 09:12 PM UTC
If I had a flight out of FCO at 1115,is it possible to get there by train or could I get a van or driver to take my family? If it is possible on the train, could you give me a website and schedule, I do not know which train I would take. Also, what would the price be? Is there a car service and how much would it be? Should we leave at 5 in the morning or leave the day before and stay in Rome? This would be August 12, 2009. Thank you.

Porto Venere Posted: Sun April 5, 2009 11:04 AM UTC
Arriving in La Spezia by train, how can one go to Porto Venere by boat. Where do we take the ferry boat and how to go there from train station of La Spezia ? Or if no boat, where do we have to take the bus to Porto Venere from train station ? Last time, I walked a long way to the port to find out that they did not run any after waiting for 2 hours and had to walk back to town to take a bus. It was very confusing and lost 3 hours before reaching Porto Venere.
Thanks.

Help needed Posted: Fri August 15, 2008 12:07 PM UTC
I will be in this region for a wedding soon and need some help
What are my options?
I need to get from Pisa to Portovenere on Saturday morning
I need to get from Portovenere to Milan Linate airport on Sunday morning early
Is a car the best option? Is it easy to drive these roads? How long will it take?
Or are trains and buses the better options and if so, how much and what times?
I would be so very grateful if someone could help
Thanks

What do I do with my luggage? Posted: Sat July 5, 2008 02:53 PM UTC
We're planning on spending the first two weeks of October in Italy; 4-5 days in Rome and then Cinque Terre. Am I crazy to be dragging my luggage into one of the towns? Is there a place to leave them at La Spezia and then just load essentials into a backpack?

Hotels in Cinque terre Posted: Wed December 5, 2007 08:38 PM UTC
Ciao
Althoug I've never been there the Cinque Terre it gives me the impression of being a laid-back kind of place. My parents like to stay in nice hotels, not exacly 5 star but maybe 3 or four. What are recomendations for nice clean hotels with a view and terrace.
I looked over La Mala B&B but they do not reply to my emails. I need to start thinking about other options.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Grazie

Cinque Terre Arguments Posted: Mon November 19, 2007 03:57 AM UTC
Is Cinque terre really a wonderful as people say?
I need some arguments to convince my parents to go there on the next family trip as they are hesitant about visiting the area.
If they choose to go, I think we would be staying in Manarola, it is a good choice?

Cinque Terre in November? Posted: Tue September 25, 2007 01:17 AM UTC
Hello,
We will be flying into Milan the end of November. I really want to visit the Cinque Terre. Is that a good choice that time of year? What is the weather usually like? Will we most likely be able to hike?
If it's recommended, how do we get there from Milan? How many nights should we stay? I was thinking about staying 4 nights. Is that too long? What town is recommended?
Sorry I have so many questions! All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Getting around Posted: Sun August 13, 2006 08:23 PM UTC
Hello!
We will be coming into La Spezia by train on September 9th. Question #1: Are there two train stations there?
There will be six of us, including a 2-year old and a 5 year old, plus all of the assorted luggage. We're actually staying in Tellaro. Question #2: Is a car hire necessary for us, and if so, where do we find a car hire place?
If a car hire is not necessary - we can get around by train and bus - I think we will need a taxi (or 2!) to get all of us from the train station to and from Tellaro. Would a taxi be available at the train station? And what do you think the charge would be?
Thanks!

Does anyone on this forum live in La Spezia? I would like to say Hi to someone that I met in Novara when I was working at the "Country Pub" in a village called Sologno.

I would love to say Hi and know that he is well and happy and contact me if possible via this forum. Thank you. Sally (England)

Accomodation suggestions Posted: Thu September 22, 2005 04:13 AM UTC
Hi all,
this is my first post so I hope it works ok.
I will be arriving from Rome to La Spezia on the 4th & staying till the 8th of October & am looking for any suggestions for a cool place to stay. There are 2 of us and we would like our own room and close to the action & transort etc.
Ive been reading the forum and also like the sounds of a B & B but would prefer not to spend more than about 60 euros a night if possible.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks & cant wait to get there!
