Can you tell me the best way to get from Livorno to Pisa by train or bus, we will be there for the one day at beg of November by cruise ship, my husband and I are very fit so do not mind walking to the station. Next day we are in Civitavecchia for Rome and looking for the same info. Many thanks

We will be staying in Marina di Pisa and flying home out of Fiumicino on a Monday. We are planning to get to a hotel close to the airport on Sunday as our flight is early. Must we train to Rome first? Are there buses from Livorno to the Fiumicino Airport area on Sundays?

Any ideas for a hotel near the airport?
How long a trip is it from Livorno to the airport by car? What would a taxi cost?

I want to travel by train from Livorno to Pisa, my wife is confined to a wheelchair and cannot walk or stand
,are the trains wheelchair friendly?

We are docking in Livorno and would like to visit some vineyards. Does anybody have suggestions of a good tour company that would be affordable or if it would be a good idea to rent a car and go ourselves? Thanks!

we are arriving at 7am on a criuse ship in Livorno and would like to see some of the vineyards in Chianti or any other place that would be nice. Can anyone offer advice on renting a car or a good (not too expensive) tour that will pick us up in Livorno for the day? we need to be back to the ship by 6pm. thanks

I'm taking a cruise in October. We have 12 hours to spend in this area, and we know our way around the train stations between Florence and Livorno.

I didn't get an opportunity to visit Tuscany on our last trip, and I am not sure where or how to get there. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Our ship, the Queen Mary ll will be docking at Livorno on Sunday 20. What transportation is available from the dock to the train station for trains to Pisa and Lucca?

I have read elsewhere that the bus trip from Livorno to Pisa, though longer than train ride, is more scenic. Do you agree? Is the Livorno bus station far from the cruise ship termial? Is the bus station in Pisa centrally located? Finally can I get the hop-on/hop off bus near the bus and train stations in Pisa? Thanks.

I will be in Livorno/Pisa/Luca in early Dec. How cold can I expect it to be? I live in Canada so I am not scared of the cold but I am wondering how warm I will have to dress to be comfortable. Will a sweater and a spring/fall coat suffice? Thanks for any info.

I'm flying to Pisa/Florence on 1st June and want to get from there to Livorno and find a hotel ok for a single woman to stay in for 3 nights (max cost £100 per night). I also need to know the best means of travel and how I can book it from the airport to the hotel. I need to know what that will cost. I also need to know how much it will cost to get a taxi from the hotel to the port (meeting a cruise liner on 3rd for day only) and if its easy to get a taxi back to the hotel from the port - so the hotel should be in that general area. I am not a seasoned traveller and am a bit nervous about making this whole trip alone.

Can anyone give detailed directions as to how to get from the port to the train station? We would like to go to Florence. If it is a fifteen minute walk from where the ship docks, then it should be an easy enough walk. I looked at the Livorno map and was wondering what the name of the train station is on the map. Other than walking, what other ways can we get to the train station other than a taxi?

One other question, I have toyed with the idea of renting a car and driving to Florence. Has anyone done that who does not read or speak Italian, and if so, was it easy or difficult? Parking in Florence? Gas prices / stations?

Greetings! I will be arriving on the NCL GEM into the Livorno Port (Sqarallino Calata) Ports 61-62 on November 18 2008. Being in Livorno for the first time I would like to know if this port is walking distance to Piazza Grande or is it too far from the city itself? Any input will be greatly appreciated! I am planning to take Bus Number 1 towards Stazzione in order to catch a train to Siena.

What is the best way to get from the port of Livorno to San Gimignano using public transportation? I'm assuming it would be a bus.

Also any recommendations for restaurants close to the cruise ship piers would be very appreciated.

I'm picking up 2 friends in wheelchairs who are arriving at the Livorno train station. I'll be in a car. Is there an obvious spot on the ground level of the station (no stairs) where I can tell them to wait for me? Better yet, is there somewhere outside they could wait so I could just drive up, pick them up and not have to park?

We are arriving on November 14, 2008 in Livorno on the Norwegian Gem. We want to stop in Pisa to see and not climb the leaning tower.
We want to then go on to Cinque Terre and see as much as possible.

My husband and I are spending half our honeymoon in Italy. We are booking a hotel for a week in Florence and then doing lots of day trips from there. We would like to spend a day in Livorno, but we are having problems finding any real info on it. We like to book everything that we do in advance and really don't want to have to wait until we get to Italy.
