I will be arriving in Pisa around 21.30, and have no choice but to take a taxi
to my hotel. How much might this cost to the city walls of Lucca?

Thanks Chris 22

Lucca Lucca Wedding & Transport information
Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 08:53 AM UTC
Hi everyone

I'm trying to organise my wedding in Lucca for next September and would love to hear from anyone who has done this before. I've heard that it can be quite complicated as far as the legal stuff is concerned.

Can anyone give me any information on how long we need to be in the country for, before the wedding. Also, we are doing this on a bit of a budget and would be keen to know of the cost involved for a civil ceremony.

The lovely woman who we have booked the Villa from, is going to help us out, but I feel really bad asking her to do the legwork for us.

We are flying Ryanair from Scotland to Pisa and would be keen to get any information about the actual airport which Ryanair fly in to. Am I right in saying that there are several Airports round about Pisa? If so, which one does Ryanair fly into and is this the one with the train station which goes to Pisa Centrale?

Any information would be appreciated, as i'd like to be able to pass this information on to any friends and family who may be coming with us. (We will probably hire a car as the wedding dress and Kilts will be quite bulky for public transport.

Thanks in advance

Lucca Transportation from Pisa Airport
Posted: Mon August 28, 2006 02:54 AM UTC
How does one get from the Pisa airport to inside the walls in Lucca? Is there a bus leaving frequently from the airport? If so, does the bus go inside the walls, or would one have to carry their luggage to their destination inside the walls?

Lucca Lucca or Viareggio????
Posted: Wed July 5, 2006 08:26 PM UTC
I am taking my girlfriend into Northern Tuscany for 4 nights, and finding it difficult to decide between Lucca or Viareggio. I intend to visit both during the trip, although unsure where to reserve accomodation. I am swayed towards Lucca, as I have found some charming B&B's and the location appears fantastic for access to Pisa, Viareggio etc... The purpose of the trip is a birthday surprise present for my girlfriend so i'd be looking for restraunts, some local charm, romance and some night life.

thankyou!

Lucca Ideas for day trips in Tuscany, from Lucca
Posted: Tue May 30, 2006 05:05 PM UTC
We'll be at a villa outside of Lucca in mid june before traveling to Geneva to visit family members. We will have a car and two boys aged 9 & 12. We are interested in Wineries, but will have to dole them out carefully as the children will be already over-exposed to the renissaince art of Florence, etc.

Lucca Is it needed to reserve all the accomodations?
Posted: Sat April 8, 2006 06:18 PM UTC
Hi!

Me and my girlfriend are visiting Tuscany this summer in August. My question is; do we have to book ahead for our whole stay? Or is it easy to get budget bed&breakfast rooms?

I am looking at Da Elisa in Lucca...does anyone have any experience with this place?

Thank you for your help!

ciao!

Lucca Christmas Day at the Chinque Terre
Posted: Wed October 26, 2005 02:51 PM UTC
We arrive in Lucca on Dec. 23rd and depart Dec. 26th. I had wanted to tour Lucca and shop in the markets on Dec. 24th. That just leaves Christmas Day for the Chinque Terre. Do you think that is feasible? Do the trains run on Christmas Day? Will anything be open in Chinque Terre on Christmas Day?

Lucca Wineries near Lucca
Posted: Mon August 15, 2005 08:35 AM UTC
hello,

we'll be in lucca for the day, and i want to hang out in town while my friends want to have lunch and taste wines at a nearby winery in the countryside.

is trying to do both in one day too ambitious? also, what are some recommendable wineries near the town of lucca??

we can catch a train there to lucca from livorno if we just decide to stay in the city all day, but if there are any nearby wineries worth checking out, we may have to rent a car or mopeds, would that make sense??...

let me know if anyone has any ideas, thanks.
