Where to go for shooting landscapes Posted: Tue September 29, 2009 07:25 AM UTC
What aprt of the island is the most interesting for landscape photography from your point of view?
Will I find "fall colors" in the second decade of october there or i will see a summer landscape still?
Any sample pics will be of help.
Thanks for all replies in advance.

is there transport from Seogwipo to sights on the southeast coast? Posted: Mon September 21, 2009 02:32 PM UTC
I'm staying on Jeju for two days in October, and based on what I'm reading, it looks like I want to stay in Seogwipo. Is there transportation from Seogwipo to the Jeju Folk Village and/or the sunrise crater at Seongsan-ri? Or do all the busses originate in Jeju-si?
Also, any recommendations for a cheap and clean place to stay would be appreciated. Thanks.

Going to Jeju for 3 nights - any suggestions? Posted: Thu July 16, 2009 01:34 PM UTC
Hi
I will be going with my husband to Jeju for 3 nights we are staying near the beach in the north west (near the dragon rock i think!) we will hire a car for the time we are there and wondered where to go in the evenings?
We will be joined by a friend for 2 nights and plan to see most of the island - but as we arrive mid day we wont have time to do much on 1st day - or will we? the tour guides I have looked through all seem to say most places of interest are closed at 6pm ish (we will be there begining of September)so I am not sure where to go in the evenings we will have car so we can get to most places (just need a good map!)
We wll probably go to most of the tourist areas, my friend wondered about going up Mount Halla - does it take long??
Any suggestions welcome including places to eat!

Jeju city or Seogwipo Posted: Tue February 10, 2009 12:25 AM UTC
Hi
I did some research for hotel in Jeju island and i m not sure if i better stay in Seogwipo or Jeju city?Because almost all the hotels in Seogwipo are like in the resort, you dont have much choice to eat at the hotels(Hyatt,KAL ,...)but then it is close to places i would like to visit. If i stay in Jeju city,i ll have more choices concerning places to eat ,convenient stores,shop... but then it is far from Seogwipo!I will travel by taxi or bus or hire a van with driver cause we are 6 people.
Thanks for any advice

Driving in winter and how to reserve room at Jazz Village Posted: Fri November 21, 2008 06:35 AM UTC
Hi,
I'll be travelling to jeju from 10-13th Dec 08 w my family of 7 and planning to rent a van. How is the road condition in winter? Is it safe esp on winding roads? And are the rental vehicles eg tyres, heater suited for winter driving?
And how's the weather, will it rain/snow a lot esp on mountain areas like mount Hallasan during this time of year? I come fr a warmer climate country and has no experience driving in winter conditions.
I'm also planning to stay at Jazz Village but the website's in Korean. Any other way to reserve a room there prior to my arrival. Are there any grocery stores near Jazz Village?

Busan to Jeju-do Posted: Fri August 29, 2008 05:18 PM UTC
Hi All,
I will be in Busan 23. September to 4. October, and I am think about making a short trip to Jeju-do.
I heard the journey by boat takes 10 hours! Any idea what it costs?
How about flights? What do they cost?
Is Jeju-do worth a short visit of 2 days...??? Or will Busan more or less similar?
Any idea how the weather would be? Will it be warm enough to swim in the sea?
Thank you!
regards, Gerlinde

Help! Car rental - maybe with driver Posted: Fri September 14, 2007 05:32 AM UTC
Hi all
Two friends and I are travelling to Jeju for Chusok (September 22-24). Just been told by the travel agent that we need an International License to drive around, which we don't have. Is there a way of getting around this? If not any contacts with getting an inexpensive car and driver for the 3 days would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Possible to rent a van with driver Posted: Fri April 27, 2007 09:06 AM UTC
I will be in Jeju from 2 May to 5 May. There are 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids). We do not want to drive as we do not have international driving licenses. We want to rent a van with driver who can bring us to places of interests (including airport transfer) in Jeju for our whole entire trip. Tried to find some car rental companies online and all have provided their tel nos but not their email addresses? Can someone advise? Thanks.

Suitability for a family holiday ? - young kids Posted: Thu March 29, 2007 02:43 PM UTC
Dear forum.
We are from the UK but have just moved to shanghai, china and planning our spring break (1st week of may). We have noticed jeju island is quite close to shanghai and a resonable flight. So would anyone recommend it for a family destination.
Our children our young (3 years old twins). so we need resonable accomodation but not 5 star as with kids posh is not great either. So we are trying for a balance on what we visit. Get our children some experience but manage the food health etc.
We have quotes from a travel agent for the
Kal seogwipo--- 4*
PALACE --- 3*
How expensive is korea ? and what is the food like?

where to go in jeju city? Posted: Fri October 27, 2006 03:21 PM UTC
Hello!
I will go to Jeju Island on Nov 9 alone and stay at Hotel Marina. But on Nov 10-11 I will move to Shilla Hotel in the southern part of Jeju to attend a conference so I think I have no problem those days.
The only problem I have is on Nov 9. I will arrive after lunch on Nov 9. Since I will be travelling alone, where am I supposed to go in Jeju in the afternoon? Do you have any suggestions? and how to get there? Hotel Marina is located in Jeju City so is there something worth seeing in the city? how about any tourist spots near the city?
At this time, I still dont have any idea where to go there. I will be glad if can give me any suggestions and tips. Thank you in advance.

Drive farther west and take ferry from closer place - any other ideas I might not have thought of?? Will be there at end of Sept.

Seogwipo Sights: Jungmun Tourist Complex Posted: Tue July 11, 2006 05:03 PM UTC
Im just wondering if the following tourist spots: Teddy Bear Museum, Yeomji Botanic Garden, Cheonjeyeon Falls, ICC and Daepo Coast Jusangjeoli are near to each other that you could possibly walk between these places.
Coz in the map, it seems that they are in short distance from each other.
Thanks.

Peak Season Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 10:55 AM UTC
No really, how bad is the peak season? I've read late July to early August, I've read all of August...I'd like to go during the last week of August--how bad do you think that is? I went last year in early May, and it was pretty much deserted, it was great.
And if Jeju is a bad idea at that time, does anyone have any other recommendations? The only reason I'm considering Jeju is because I got a cheap flight back to the states that routes through Seoul, and I figured Jeju would be a nice diversion...

Hiking up Mt. Halla Posted: Fri June 30, 2006 06:21 AM UTC
I am thinking of hiking up Mt. Halla during my trip to Jeju-do this coming November.
Is the route to the peak (1950m) accessible still only by the eastern (Seongpanak) and northern (Kwanumsa) trails? And from Kwanumsa, how do I find my way back to the cities, or even Seongpanak (if I drive I will park there first, and later on need to retrieve the car)?
In early November, will the peak of Mt. Halla be snowing? It will be nice if it's a snow-capped Hallasan.

accommodations in August? Posted: Sun June 18, 2006 02:47 PM UTC
We're going at the worst time of the year: August. Do we need hotel/motel/bread and breakfast reservations at that time? And will we need to book a car before we get there?

Jeju DIY tour Posted: Wed June 14, 2006 06:21 PM UTC
I would like to go to those places not included insidethe published package tours on the net. And when I show them my customized tour , the quote is sooooo expensive. So , I might as well go on my own. But the problem is our transportation.
Is it possible to hire a cab from the island? Or there might be better suggestions from you, guys?
Thanks a lot.
