Are you familiar with Matera? We may be in the city for 2 nights to do some photo-shooting, and I'd like to know what hotels you can recommend that have cave bedrooms and spectacular views of the town (I'm cheating on a couple of the photos, to shoot them from my bedroom window!). I don't mind if it's pricey, but it has to be worth the cost. I'm leaning toward the Hotel Sassi, and recent reviews of the place are favorable.

Does anyone know if all the trains you book for night travel automatically include sleeping quarters? Is there anyone who can give me some good advice on traveling by train. It appears there is more than one company, and prices vary.

Hello,

Probably I'll visit Italy (Matera and Grotole) for this year's Christmas. I'll spend there about one week.

My questions are in the field 'How to reach... .':
I can fly to Milan or Rome. Can you help me - where it is easier to reach Matera? Is it better by train, or, probably busses are more convenient? After that I have to leave for Grotole. How is the public transport?

Do you think I'll manage knowing almost any Italian?

Thanks for your help, and greetings from Bulgaria. You are welcome if you are coming here.

Have a nice day,
Lillyia
