Milan New years in Milan
Posted: Mon October 26, 2009 11:34 AM UTC
Hello! my husband and I are spending the 31st of December in Milan. I've read that this is not the ideal place to spend New Years, is that true? Even if it is, I would like to know if anyone knows what we could do to have some fun. Perhaps a nice restaurant (not so expensive) and then a party or bar to go to??

Thanks!

Milan Obtaining tickets for Inter games in Curva Nord
Posted: Thu October 8, 2009 04:50 PM UTC
Hi,
I fly out to Milan on sat 07/11/09 to go to see Inter v Roma on the sunday evening. I would like to get tickets sent across to England but after weeks of research this is proving near impossible. So it's looking like i may have to travel across and try to purchase a ticket either on the sat or the sun. Obviously sat would be better but i need to find out where the ticket outlets are and when they are open.
I hope somebody can help with my enquiry!
Thanks

Milan Hotel Nasco room choice
Posted: Thu September 24, 2009 03:13 PM UTC
Hello,

Is there anyone who could advice me which room at Hotel Nasco to specifically request if we need a larger space in the room because we are staying there with our baby? I have read from some reviews that double rooms are not equally large so we are hoping to have some tips which double room to get from VTers who have been there. Also, we want to request for a room not on the roadside for our sleeping baby. Is street noise really a problem in a roadside room? I was wondering if we choose a room not on the roadside would mean we would miss any lovely view of the city (or park?) that comes with a roadside room. I presume that roadside rooms are the ones with balconies.

Any tip or enlightenment would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

greetings,
ning

Milan Tickets for the Rossoneri this Sunday.
Posted: Tue September 22, 2009 05:24 PM UTC
Ciao from Glasgow,

Will be in Milan on Sunday and would like to take in the game at the San Siro. Will I be able to buy tickets in Milan on the day? I know that you can often buy them from banks etc but don't suppose these will be open on a Sunday. Am in Bellagio Friday/Saturday and don't think I'll be able to pick one up there either.

Any help gratefully received.

Also, any good tips for aperativo on Sunday night?

Harry.

Milan Milan to Venice by train anyone?
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 04:55 AM UTC
Me again,

We want to travel to Venice at the end of our week - and by train. How long will it take? Are there ticket options (like first class/coach) Should we buy from a travel agency - as others advised on the Milan to Switzerland thread?

Can we get to a station which takes us by boat over to Venice easily (train station?)

Thanks again!

Milan Nannini shops
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 04:30 AM UTC
Hi,

I'm going to Milan in a few weeks and will have some time to shop. I've seen Nannini purses the last time I was in Italy - didn't buy one and really want to get one this time.

Is there a Nannini store or a place that sells a good selection of their leather goods in central Milan? Thanks so much for any advice!

Milan Milano to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland by train - URGENT!!
Posted: Sat September 5, 2009 06:25 PM UTC
Hello!

My husband and I are in Milan, but we need to take a train to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland on September 7. However, I am having a difficult time getting any information about getting train tickets and how much they cost.

Can I do this online? Or, do I have to go to the train station? I have waited in the long line at the train station just to get a person who could not speak English. And, my Italian is not good enough to communicate exactly what we need or, at least, to understand exactly what they are trying to tell me.

If I need to go to the train station to buy tickets, is there somewhere I can go besides the main ticket line?

Thank you so much for any help you can offer!!!

Milan parking near milan central train station?
Posted: Thu August 20, 2009 01:38 AM UTC
forgive me for the rush but i need an answer very quickly. is it possible to park within walking distance of milan central train station around 8-9 AM, and return at 10 PM for your car? this could be on the street, at a garage, or elsewhere. if parking at a garage we would need to be able to retrieve the car between 10-11 PM.

if parking close by is not possible, what is the best way to park and ride? i am coming from como if that makes a difference but i need to be able to get back to my car from milan at the stated time. thanks very much

Six of our best friends (all seniors) want to take a day's bus tour from Milan to Lake Como, incl. the lake cruise up to Bellagio. I noted the train goes there, however, I presume there's a lot of walking involved from where it drops you off to get to the lake cruise dock? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Milan Bergamo in early October
Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 10:28 AM UTC
Hi

Does anyone know what Bergamo will be like in early October, for example, will there be many tourists around, or have I picked an out-of-season time to visit when it will be totally deserted with nothing to do?

(I originally posted this question on the Eergamo forum, but received no replies, so hopefully someone here may reply!!)

Milan BERGAMO AIRPORT TO LAKE COMO
Posted: Wed July 15, 2009 01:56 PM UTC
Hi, does anyone know how long it would take to get from Bergamo airport to Lake Como? I've never been to LakeComo before, so am unsure of the best resorts to visit, but as I'm only visiting for 2 days, would guess that the South shore would be most time-efficient, therefore probably Como as a starting point??

Is there a direct train from Bergamo train station to Como and if so how long would it take?

Thanks, Simone

Milan LAKE COMO IN SEPTEMBER
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 10:43 AM UTC
Hi to everyone

I have booked a flight to Milan with a view to spending a couple of days at Lake Como at the end of September.

However, I wondered;

Firstly - will the holiday season still be going at this time, ie, will all the resort be open, shops, restaurants etc and will the transport connections still be regular at this time?

Secondly - what will the weather be like at this time?

In general then, is the end of September a good time to visit Lake Como or would I be better advised to stick with a city like Milan?

Thanks, Beth

Milan milan stopover
Posted: Wed July 1, 2009 12:33 AM UTC
We will be staying in Milan for a two night, one day stopover, and want to get some suggestions on what to do. We are staying about 10 minutes tram ride from central station, close by and will of course visit the duomo. Other suggestions are castello S forzesco, fashion district and basilica di S. Ambrogio. Any other suggestions would be apreciated for a full day of sightseeing, and maybe some cheap eateries and not so expensive bars or nightclubs. Would love to be lucky enough to catch a game of football, but am only there 31st august and 1st september.
Any suggestions would be much apreciated.

Milan Travelling Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport to Milano Malpensa Airport
Posted: Thu June 18, 2009 06:32 PM UTC
Hi, on Saturday I'll be arriving in Bergamo Orio al Serio airport and then taking another flight from Milano Malpensa a few hours later. The bus Orio-Milano (Stazione Centrale) and then a train to Malpensa seems to be the way to do it, but it takes a good while and makes me a bit short on time. Does anyone know if there's any kind of bus from Orio al Serio airport straight to Malpensa Airport?

Would anyone know how much a taxi would cost,
Orio Airport-Malpensa Airport, or
Orio Airport-Milano Stazione Centrale, or
Milano Stazione Centrale-Milano Malpensa airport?

Or give me any other tips on what would be the best thing to do (before Saturday of course)?

Thanks!!!!!!!

Milan Milan to Switzerland via Lake Como
Posted: Thu June 18, 2009 08:01 AM UTC
Hi there,
I'm trying to plan an itinerary for our Euro trip at the end of the year.
We're going through Italy and will be in Milan for a night. After that we're heading to Switzerland via Lake Como hopefully
I wonder if anyone can please advise us further. Is it a good idea to visit Lake Como in early December or is it a stupid idea? We have no idea what to expect.
Also it's proving to be very expensive trying to find transport from Milan straight through to Switzerland. The de bahn and swiss rail websites won't allow me to purchase tickets this far ahead so again we have no idea regarding cost etc.
Ideally we'll leave Milan, head to Lake Como and then spend about three days in Switz, we're thinking Geneva, Zurich and Interlaken hopefully.
Any advice at all would be great!!
Cheers
