Padova accomodation for the Summer + meeting new friends
Posted: Wed June 22, 2005 04:07 PM UTC
Hi everybody,

I am a French guy and I studied Italian in Padova last year, I'd like to spend a month again in your city or even more if possible between mid July and September. Anybody who would have a room to rent or even una doppia to share this Summer for a reasonable rent? I am a quiet and friendly person looking for nice and social people to share accomodation with. I am Interested in meeting new friends as well to go to concerts, walks or to travel around in Italy or Croatia. Potete rispondere in Italiano naturalmente.

Padova Transportation from VCE to University of Padova
Posted: Mon June 13, 2005 12:25 AM UTC
Hi! I will be studying abroad at the University of Padova in a couple months and was wondering how I would get from the Marco Polo airport in Venice to Padova. I hear the bus would be the best way, but which bus? Sita? And how would I go about purchasing a bus ticket? And where? Thanks so much!

Padova Transportation

Hi!

My husband and I are going to stay in a place called Lido di Jeoslo (not far from Venice) for 6 days. We allready planned some trips to Milan, Venice, Verona, but we would also like to visit Padova but I don't know if there are any buses or something that can take us to Padova (maybe Parma and Bologna if there are not to far?) from Lido.

Padova Cars!!!
Posted: Wed February 2, 2005 05:48 PM UTC
Hello everyone,

We are planning on moving to Italy at the end of this year and have a couple of questions. First one is, we are going to be taking our car with us, and we were told that you have to pay a fee for importing a car to Italy? Does anyone know how much it is? Also about driving, can we drive with our US lisances and for how long? Is there a special international lisance that we can obtain? And last question is does anyone know a web site of used car dealers in Padova, or surrounding areas?

Thank you very much. Any help is more then welcome.

Padova Baggage check at the Padova train station?
Posted: Wed September 8, 2004 11:15 PM UTC
Ciao everyone!

On the way to Milan from Rome, I'd like to stop in Padova to see Giotto's restored frescoes.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to spend the night. Does anyone know if there's a place to leave your luggage at the train station?

Grazie mille!

Padova Painless Italian?
Posted: Thu July 22, 2004 03:16 AM UTC
I'm going to be in Padua for several weeks next spring and would enjoy taking an Italian class while I'm there, but the only school I've found on line--Instituto Bertrand Russell-- sounds grammar based and rather tedious. I'm looking for something that includes both grammar and conversation. Or, does someone know of a place to post a notice for an Italian tutor. I hope to have some basic Italian under my belt by then. I speak French and am a former language teacher, so not a novice to this world--want a really good class, if I can find one. Any advice from people living in Padua or who know the city well? Thanks. Padova Where to stay
Posted: Wed July 14, 2004 11:18 AM UTC
Hi, I'm moving to Padova fro a year on the 15th-16th of august. I just finish my exams in Norway on the 14th so time is a bit short to make all the arrangements before i go down there. But this is not the point, well yeah but not directly. What i'm wondering is if anybody know of a scentral place to stay a couple of nights while i go apartmenthunting(while i'm in the languagecourse) And ideaslly if anyone has any good ideas as to where to look for a place to stay for my year. Student dorms doen't quite have a tempting ring to it.

So thanks

Padova Advice befor moving to this fair city... :)
Posted: Sun May 2, 2004 12:23 PM UTC
Hi, I'm Stine and I'm moving to Padova for a year in august. One year as an exchangestudent in Italy when you're from cold norway, sounds like heaven. :) But I'm blank, i know very little about the city, from in what part of town to get an apartment to how am i going to get my italian to progress without knowing anyone there. In other words, anyone out there that would like to give me a kick in the right direction? Or be a guardian angel, someone i can ask all my stupid questions? Any help will be greated with huge amounts of thanks.

Love

Padova Public transport or car hire?
Posted: Tue April 27, 2004 12:35 AM UTC
Hello Everyone!

How does this sound to those of you with knowledge of the Padova and Vicenza area:

I've got a maximum of 4 days.
Flight to Brescia.
Car hire and drive to Vicenza for 1 or 2 days.
Drive on to Padova for 1 or 2 days.
Something else?
Return to Bescia for flight home.

Or

Use public transport, I know there is a good bus service to Verona from Brescia (I've been there before) and then get train or buses to Vicenza and Padova.

I've been to Verona before (lovely place, but not for this trip). Would I have enough time to see Padova and Vicenza or best to spend more time in one or the other? Is there any other good places to go to?
Have been to Riva del Garda, Venice, Verona, Udine (a bit far anyway).

What about Bassano del Grappa, Cittadella or Parma?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Martin.

Padova The Scrovegni Chapel
Posted: Sat April 17, 2004 10:54 PM UTC
Hi guys,

Looks the Scrovegni Chapel open until 10:00pm.
I want to arrive Padua around 7:00pm and booked at 8:00pm.

I know I must collect their pre-paid booked tickets at the Eremitani Museum ticket office 1 hour before their assigned time of entry. The Eremitani Museum ticket office still open until 7:00pm?

Looks it's Catch-22.

Any body can help me?

Tanks a lot,
