Posted: Tue June 9, 2009 02:01 PM UTC
Hi,
I will be in Padova/Italy between April 19 and June 25 for the Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics. Do you know a cheap but nice place which I can stay with my 10 years old daughter? I may share an appartment too. The size of the place should be at least 27 m2.
Thanks in advance for the information.

Padova Only 15 minutes for the Cappella degli Scrovegni!!!
Posted: Thu May 7, 2009 10:19 PM UTC
The highlight of my upcoming trip to Italy will be the chance to finally visit the Cappella degli Scrovegni. I was horrified to find I can only get a 15 minute appointment. Gah! I need more time than that. I made the appointment of course, but I wondering if anyone knows a way I could stay longer.

I read in the Rick Steves guide book that it's possible to get 20 minute appointments in the evening, but that's also tragically short.

Has anyone had luck getting past 20 minutes? Could I write a letter or something?

Padova Scovegni Chapel
Posted: Fri August 15, 2008 12:12 PM UTC
I will be in Italy in the last week of September/first week October. I will be staying near Desenzano, but have checked the Trenitalia website, and reckon that the 10:13am express train to Venice could get me to Padova in just over an hour.

My questions: I have been to the official Scrovegni(Arena) Chapel website, which seems to recommend pre-booking admission. But if I want to 'take things as they come' on holiday and not be committed to a strict timetable and spending money 'up front', 1) what are the chances of booking admission on the internet the day before I travel? or 2)getting in to the chapel after just turning up? 3) Are there any times of the day when its easier to get in? 4) Generally, how busy would the chapel be on, for example 2nd October? (or is it busy all year round?).

I can speak and understand Italian (and French and German)? Is it any easier to get in if you book yourself in to a non-English-speaking group? (This does actually happen at tourist sites in other parts of Europe)

Hoping someone can help...

Padova Restaurant 27 persons
Posted: Fri April 11, 2008 12:27 PM UTC
Hi all,

Currently I am organizing a study trip to Italy (Padova/Venice) in the end of April, and I am looking for a convenient place to eat.

The group consists of 27 persons. Also, since our budget is limited, the restaurant shouldn't be too expensive, say max 20€ per person.

Can someone advice us what would be an appropriate restaurant for us?

Thanks in advance for any reactions!

Padova Pernumia-Padova
Posted: Sun March 2, 2008 05:56 PM UTC
Hi people,I need a few answers!
I'll be staying in Pernumia (about 20km from Padova)so I wonder what's the best way for coming to Padova several times? By train (which would require going to Monselice first, i suppose) or by bus directly from Pernumia (if that's possible!) What is the better (cheaper/faster) option?
Are there any buses from Pernumia and how often do they run? I am not able to find this information anywhere...

Best regards!

Does anyone know if there is a locker service at the train station there in Padova and how much it costs? I have been trying to search for info online and I cant get specific info about it.

Thanks.

P.S. the hop-on-hop-off city tour bus does not operate during winter, does it?

Padova christmas holiday in venice, padova and verona
Posted: Sat October 20, 2007 11:07 AM UTC
Hello vters :)

We are planning to go to padova after our christmas in venice. We are thinking if we can already go to padova on the 26th and stay overnight then head to verona.

Are the churches, shops, museums and the university already open on the 26th or not yet? Is one day enough to see most of the tourist spots in padova?

If it is generally closed on the 26th, then perhaps we would stay one day more in venice and go to padova on the 27th and head to verona on the 28th.

Hoping for your enlightenment before we do our final plan and booking.

Thank you very much.

Padova Parking + Scrovegni Chapel with Padova Card
Posted: Sun July 8, 2007 10:20 AM UTC
Hello,
I'd like to visit Padova using Padova Card for discounts. Trying to book tickets online in the Scrovegni Chapel's website I saw that I can't book the discount tickets without buying Padova Card from their site. This way I will have Padova Card in my hands only when I'll go to take my tickets at the chapel but I'd need it to park the car BEFORE to go to the Chapel.
This UNLESS I need the Card only when I pay the parking AFTER my visit. Does anybody knows how it works with parking and Padova Card?
I'm not very sure I have been clear enough, but I do hope so ;)

Thanks

Padova Tips on what to see, where to eat, where/what to buy ??

Dear all travellers,

I need help. I'm traveling to Padova with 3 girl friends from 16 July to 19 July this summer. We are staying in Hotel Accademia Palace - Padua
Via del Pescarotto 39 and plan to go to George michael's concert to Stadium Viale Nereo Rocco 60. Does anybody can tell me which bus to take to go there?
Then I would be very gratefull for the tips where to eat, where to shop and what to buy. The most important question is what to see? I like museums and great buildings, parks and monuments...but there are a lot of them, so I need a selection and adresses - I will be using GPS.
Thanks for your help, greeting from Ljubljana,

hello. i'll be in padova this october 30 - november 1 and was looking for a nice, inexpensive place to stay. i found this bed and breakfast online - al ponte, along via a. zacco - and it looks like it has a really good deal: 50 euro a night for a double room with bath, breakfast and use of the washing machine.

the B&B website is www.bbalponte.it

i haven't seen any reviews though and was just wondering if any of you have stayed here or are familiar with it... any info would be good :)

thanks!

I also need a great restaurant for a Sunday lunch, one ideally situated in a "charming" town or vineyard somewhere between Venice and Padova (or near Abano). Ideally, something characteristic and non-turisto.

Padova Can anyone recommend a 2/3 star hotel (or apartment?) for 2 nights in Padova?
Posted: Tue March 21, 2006 09:33 PM UTC
We will be travelling to the west coast of Italy in June/July this year, finishing off with a 2-night stay in Padova in order to take my mother-in-law into Venice for the day. We require 2 rooms (double + child bed and a single) somewhere that is't too far from the railway station. Can anyone recommend a a nice hotel? If an apartment renter would be OK with just a 2-night stay, that would be great, too. Grazie!
