I'm Josie and I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I have a friend named Sherine who will be leaving for Perugia next month for a 3 mth course studying Italian at the university.

She's currently still looking for accommodation between 1 April to 1 July 2004. I was wondering whether you would know of any suitable place near Perugia university.

Please, help me to find the easy and and beautiful way from Rome-Fiumichino Airport to Perugia old city . How mach we should pay for tolls? Can we drive without tolls or it will be very slow (we'll drive on Friday morning)?

We will be driving to Perugia from Krakow in the beginning of August.We will probably spend about a week in or around Perugia.Does anyone have any suggestions of interesting day trips close to Perugia??We are staying with a friend so acommodation isn't a problem.Neither kinga or myself has been to Italy before.thanks for the help!!!

I'll be in Perugia from 10-14 July, atending Umbria Jazz Festival. Have found an very attractive offer, three nights in hotel "Park" (four stars hotel) plus breakfest for 132 € only, would you belive it.
The festival starts on Friday 11, there are free outdoor concerts whole day starting at 12:00 in Centro storico, Giardini Carducci and Piazza IV Novembre, the main event of the day is at Arena Santa Giuliana, 20:45 with "Trio's 20th Anniversary tour" - Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette.
Saturday 12
the main event is "The great vocal night", with Caetano Veloso and Tony Bennett,
also at Teatro Morlacchi: Elvin Jones jazz machine, etc.etc.
Would like to meet some VTer if coming.

I will be in Perugia from the 11th July for some ten days or so...provided all goes well maybe even longer ;0)) I am going to see that jazz festival that is to be held there.
I heard that the people are willing to rent the student's apartments to tourists and if possible we would like to rent one, so can anybody help?
Any other tips about Perugia are more than welcomed.
VT meeting is a "must do" if somebody is available and willing.

In 1981, when I was young and foolish, I stayed in Perugia for a week and was utterly bowled over by it. I'm surprised there are no Perugia pages - has something gone wrong, or is it just the embarrassment of riches that Italy has to offer?

The reason I am asking is that I really would like to go back to this wonderful city later this year, and I wondered if anybody has any advice. Or, indeed, would like to show me round when I get there? I heard recently that the long steep slog up from the railway station has been relieved by a super-escalator!
