How many hours does it take to travel from Tashkent to Samarkant and from there to Bukhara?

Are there any historical places in Tashkent? I saw nothing about the historical places in the Tashkent section.

I`m Shadi from Iran . I`m designer & photography is another profession
I have . I`m planing to have a trip to central asia countries ( for the
coming month ) to take some pictures for my next photo exhibition .
In this trip I`ll be with 3 of my freind that they are artist too.
Our trip starts from Turkmenistan,then Uzbekistan,Tajikistan,Kyrgyzstan
& at last Kazakhstan and from there we will back to our country.
We are already appling visa for all 5 but the only one that is
not possible is Uzbekistan.
as I called embassy they need letter of invitation.
as I read on "lonely planet" travel guide book there are some travel agencies (on tashkent) that they can help me by sending me LOI I was wondering
if I can get any help from the VT members to find any list of these travel agencies to get LOI by them I found some in the mentioned book but just less of their emails are accessible then I`m not able to do it by my self .

I hope some freinds on VT can help me about this matter .
I would appreciate your help alot .

we are planning to visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in April/May.
Does anybody know how long does it take to go from Bishkek to Tashkent overland and if it is safer to
(a) book a private tour/transfer with a guy with a jeep or something;
(b) Take a train, possibly an overnight train
(c) Take a public bus

1. Is hiring apartment better than hotel. My stay is for 30-60 days
2. Average expence for a maintaining a family of 2 in a rented flat.
3. Good aprtments for rent for 2 months. Name of hirer.
4. I plan to get married in tashkent. Can some one suggest possible course for getting the bide and expense for it.

I have been invited to Tashkent in late August or early Sept. Can anyone comment on the security situation there for tourists please. I am male and travelling alone. Is there a decent hotel in the city center? Any advice appreciated.

I need to buy an Airline ticket from Tashkent to Bukhara. I can se the flights on http://www.uzairways.com but i can't reserve the seat. the website doesn't work for some reason. i know the ticket should cost around $30. could some one help me with ticket reservations? i think it has to be someone in Uzbekistan. I will arrive in Tashkent on February 12 and I am curious about one thing. Do I need a power converter in order to use my laptop. I need to confirm which power convertor I would need (I am the USA) or if I even need one.

Also what is the local food specialities? Can anyone tell me a good restaurant that serves local food?

Are there any nightclubs? If so, which ones should I go to?

What language do they speak? What currency do they use?

hi every body realy i need help or i can say my love & my life needs a help , i'm from syria and i love my girlfriend too much she is from tashkent-uzbekistan but i don't know how to get the uzbek visa i'm in syria and she is in uzbekistan the goverment there said for her you can open visa just for one of your family and we wont to be merried as soon as possiple but i dont have the visa and sh wont to make the party with here family in tashkent and here mather can't walk for any place so i need for some body to help me to get the vist by any way beacuse if didn't see her maybe i will loos my mind or some think bad will happend for each us and i don't think there is no body can help us to give me the visa , we dont have any office or empassy for uzbekistan. i'm a computer engineering and i love the peace i don't het any one on this world .
