Im going to Xiamen to visit my girlfriend in dec 08.. actualy its a suprise. she is there at Xiamen University.

I have no communication skills in chinese, i can't read, can't write, can't understand, can't speak chinese.

I would like to know how do I get to Xiamen University from the airport, it would be great if i could get bus numbers, because I dont want to spend a lot of money, i heard like 60 rmb on taxi, it would be good if i could catch a bus close to the area, and then taxi.
Any areas close to the University would be excellent.

Could someone please help me, thankyou

Xiamen Budget hotels on Gulangyu Island ?
Posted: Tue October 2, 2007 08:30 AM UTC
Hi guys I will be in Xiamen from the 14th October and will stay at the Home Inn but thought it might be worth staying on the island as I plan to visit for the day. Are there any budget hotels there ? I read that the Lizhi Dao was cheap (according to the ROUGH GUIDE) but can't find it on the net.

As for Xiamen I am staying 4 nights and may change hotel to a smaller one which again is about 200-220 RMB......does anyone know of any that are good ?

Hi, we are a family of 8 travelling to Xiamen 12-15Oct. Need arrangement for airport/hotel/airport trfs (van or minibus) sightseeing on the next day.
Will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel. I have to make these arrangements as our package does not include land transfers. Have read that taxi prices are reasonable from airport to hotel but if possible we like to travel together.

Fujian Sheng Travelling to and from Yongding
Posted: Thu August 30, 2007 09:09 AM UTC
My plans in October take me to Xiamen for two days and then inland to Yongyan and Yongding where I want to see the Hakka houses. I plan to stop over in Longyan from Xiamen and bus to the Hakka houses. The train appears to stop on route to Shenzhen in Longding, so do I buy a train ticket which covers my whole journey from Xiamen to Shenzhen (if thats at all possible), or do I have to buy seperate tickets for Xiamen to Longyan, then again from Longding to Shenzhen ?

I really don't want to get stranded in Longding !!!

All suggestions welcome and if its easier to do this another way then please tell me

Fujian Sheng Me Again!! Travelling from Shenzhen to Wenzhuo
Posted: Mon July 9, 2007 07:08 PM UTC
It looks like I can take a long time to take a train, then bus travelling from Shenzhen to Wenzhuo. The train alone from Longyan to Fuzhou takes 12 hrs !!! So am i being really stupid attempting this journey just to reach Wenzhuo ? The flight back appears to cost about 90GBP which is not cheap.

I am worried that attempting to get to Wenzhuo and back will take me too many days and I only have 4 to do it in.
