Ban Khao Lak Looking for Angela Sperling and Nicolas Sperling
Posted: Mon December 27, 2004 09:33 PM UTC
Hello, is there anybody who has got any information on the whereabouts of my sister Angela Sperling, age 46, and/or her son Nicolas Sperling, age 9? They were staying in Khao Lak, Sea View Resort & Spa while the tsunami occured. Please contact me - we haven't heard anything about her for the last days... Or does anybody know about the range of destruction in that hotel? Are there many dead people? Which places were the victims taken to? Please help!

We're desperately searching for information on our relatives who stayed in Khao Lak. We have not heard anything from any of the nine missing.

They are a family of four:

Anders Östman, man aged 26
Anna Jämtlid, woman aged 26
Tuva, girl aged 3
Love, boy aged 1

From what we know they lived in two bungalows on the beach together with Annas parents (Ante & Anki), sister (Annika)+husband+kid

If you have ANY information on these people, PLEASE let us know!

it is very difficult to get any information from the Khao lak region and I would like to hear anything relating to Inge and Margareta. Are there any lists from hospitals and schools or other places where missing people could be? Anyone who knows anything, I would be grateful for the help.

Q: I am looking for a Thai male person living and working at Khao Lak. His name ist "jirayuth sutjarittum" (nickname: Klang). He used to work at Tuktas restaurant right at the nang thong beach next to the nang thong bay Resort 2 and Khao lak seaview resort& spa and right next to the Khaolak divers shop. He has got a Irocese haircut.
If you have any information about him and if he is still alive please let me know immediatly. Does anybody know about the situation at Khao Lak? It sounds like it is really bad. could you find out anything about names at any kind of emmbassy? I am so sorry for everybody who is looking for people like I do and can`t get any informations...

Ban Khao Lak Similana Resort v Baan Krating Khao Lak
Posted: Sun October 3, 2004 10:08 AM UTC
Has anyone stayed at or visited either the Similana Resort or Baan Krating Resort as I cannot make up my mind which one to book. The Similana seems to have the best beach but is further from Phuket airport and is more expensive.
Baan Krating must be very new, the rooms look better but I cannot see from pictures if it is isolated or close to lots of other hotels.
Any information/advice would be most welcome.
Thanks

Ban Khao Lak Bayfront Resort
Posted: Tue June 8, 2004 09:49 AM UTC
Hello everyone,

Has anyone of you stayed in Khao Lak Bayfront Resort? I´m going to stay there with my husband for 3 weeks next January and we would like to know if there`s any good restaurants with traditional thai and sea food near this resort? What about the beach infront of the hotel, white sand? Clear water? Crowded? We are basicly looking for peace and quiet. We don`t need shopping centres and nightclubs...

We are planning to do some island hopping and snorkelling as well, so The Similans are the must thing, are they? Do you suggest anyother islands nearby?

Thanks,

Riikka

Ban Khao Lak Merlin Beach or South Sea Pakarang
Posted: Wed February 18, 2004 12:19 PM UTC
Obviously a lot of construction is/was going on in the Khao Lak area as new hotels are/were build. We plan to spend some time in Khao Lak in April 2004, but cannot find the right information. We are that kind of spoiled travelers who like to spend their holiday in a really nice, luxury and quiet surrounding. In the Dutch travel brochures we could for that purpose find the Khao Lak Merlin Beach and the South Sea Pakarang Resort. It is however very hard to get some inside information, probably due to the newness of the hotels. There is also some confusion about the South Sea Pakarang being the same hotel as the Blue Village Pakarang resort. For that matter, we read a very bad review on the latter. Can anybody tell us more and give us a hint on which of the two to choose?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Posted: Wed October 22, 2003 08:40 AM UTC
Me and my wife are going to Khao Lak in December and my wife is very sensitive to the sandflies so I was wondering if there's any good repellant or other insecticides to keep sandflies away when you're on the beach. Thanks for any reply!
