Hi, I'm a young Canadian female currently living in Berlin, i work as an au pair and a position will open near Positano this time next year which I'm thinking about going after, but I have a couple questions.
I dont speak any italian, is there much of an english speaker population? What is the public transit like? Is there much to do in the winter? Whats the age of the town like? (people wise) If someone could help me out I'd be very appreciative. Thanks PS I hope that this is travel related enough |

| Positano | Looking for Photographs of Positano esp. S.Pietro Chapel . Posted: Wed February 28, 2007 03:17 PM UTC
My fiancee and I are getting married in Positano this April in a Chapel near there called S.Pietro it is a short drive from the center of town and has a view of the ocean. We were trying to find some photographs of the chapel or Positano, that we could incorporate into the wedding announcements. Also, any restaurant recommendations for a party of 18 would be appreciated.

| Positano | Transportation from hydrofoil to Villa in Positano Posted: Sun February 4, 2007 08:11 PM UTC
We are staying in Positano in the fall and would like to arrive from Naples by Hydrofoil. Date October 14. This is a Sunday. Our villa is at the top of Positano on the road that leads from Sorrento. It is described as "three kilometers from center of town". If we were to arrive with luggage, would there be buses or taxis near the hydrofoil dock, or would this be a long difficult walk to reach a taxi or bus? Do you have any suggestions? Our Villa is not far from Hotel San Pietro. Thanks for your help!

| Positano | Australian? In Positano on September 20th,2006 Posted: Tue October 17, 2006 02:08 AM UTC
Are you Australian? Were you in Positano on September 20th, 2006 and did you eat at lunch time at Chez Black. There were 3 of you: a husband and wife and the wifes brother, you sat on the edge of the restaurant by the promenade.
We were two middle aged ladies who disturbed your peace! We were in Positano for a 'girls pamper yourselves' stay. I offered to clean, cook and tend the garden if you bought a house in Positano. Your brother had started a 'new hobby' and we started a collection also. What was that hobby? Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Positano. How are you all? |

| Positano | Looking for lemon soap Posted: Mon October 16, 2006 03:16 AM UTC
When I was in Positano last year, I bought the most wonderful lemon soap. I would like to order more of it. It was in the shape of a lemon cut in half, and I purchased it on the main shopping street of Positano. Walking up the hill from the beach, the store was on the right hand side of the street. Thank you so much for any help you can give me. I would like the store owner's website if there is one or the store's phone number.
Thank you so very much. Karen |

| Positano | Positano Art Store Posted: Mon October 2, 2006 10:23 PM UTC
I am looking for the name of an art store we were in while there in June. It was located on the first street you come to as you walk up the major path from the beach. As you come to the first street, you take a right and it is located about 1 block on the left side. If you know the name and number it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

| Positano | Positano in November? Please help... Posted: Thu September 14, 2006 03:18 AM UTC
I will be on my honeymoon in November and would like to stay in Positano 11/19-11/23. We'll be in Venice & Florence beforehand and want to end the trip on the Amalfi Coast. I've heard that many things shut down during this time in Positano. Is it worth going this time of year or should I try somewhere else.
We really really want to go to Positano but are scared that it will be a ghost town with nothing to do. Thanks for any help you can offer!!! |

| Positano | Is using public transportation a problem in late March? Posted: Fri September 8, 2006 05:12 PM UTC
We are considering staying in Positano in late March but prefer not to rent a car. Does anyone know if there is any ferry service either north to Sorrento or south to the other towns along the coast? Also does the in-town bus run at that time of year and how frequent is the SITA bus service in March. Lastly, does anyone know of a web site which has a map of the town in some detail including bus stops. Thanks for your help.

| Positano | Rome to Positano Posted: Fri August 11, 2006 11:22 PM UTC
My husband and I are scheduled to arrive at FCO at noon after a long flight. (We were unable to fly to Naples.) We would like to go to Positano the day of our arrival.
Is it sensible to hire a driver to pick us up at FCO to drive us to Positano? Or is there a more sensible approach? Considerations: We are shipping our luggage directly to the hotel in Positano and we will be each carrying only a small personal bag with us. I speak very limited Italian. We are not spendthrifts and we dislike getting ripped off, but we are willing to pay for convenience. Thanks. Ana Isabel |

| Positano | Positano Accomodation Posted: Tue August 1, 2006 11:46 AM UTC
Hi there!
We are heading to Positano Aug 21 for 5 nights. Does anyone know if any good B&B's, pensiones in the area. The majority of my internet finds are hotels . Pensiones are never advertised so I'm relying on a bit of local knowledge. I'm almost tempted to take the risk and find something when we arrive....but the thought of "looking" with all those stairs!!!!! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! |

| Positano | Wedding in Positano Posted: Fri July 21, 2006 12:06 PM UTC
Hi All,
I am looking into getting married in Positano in the San Pietro chapel. I was just wondering if you have to stay in the hotel associated with this chapel or is it possible to book sepatately. The hotel looks lovely but have read some mixed reviews about a few oddities there and the service apparently is not the best! Has anyone recently been married there and if so I would appreciate any info on things like hotels, reception venues, wedding planners, how to book ect! Also the all important question of money and prices would be helpful!! Any details would be greatly appreciated, Thanks |

| Positano | Visa Gift Card Posted: Tue July 11, 2006 04:52 PM UTC
Hi all!
My fiance and I are really looking forward to spending our honeymoon in Positano. Some relatives from abroad have sent us a VISA DEBIT gift card, it says that it will be accepted internationally wherever VISA or STAR is accepted. We just wanted to check if anyone knows if this is accepted in most places in Positano or if we should cash it before leaving home. Thanks, Colette & Stephen. |

| Positano | Getting Around in Positano Posted: Mon July 10, 2006 05:36 PM UTC
I am going to Positano in August and will be 5 months pregnant. I booked this trip before knowing I would be, and as I read about Positano it appears that there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to places. This will be difficult for me. Are there taxis or buses that can take you around the city as well to avoid harse climbs?

| Positano | Looking for a painting Posted: Tue June 27, 2006 07:44 PM UTC
My boss just came back from Positano. He is very upset with himself, because he and his wife went shopping there and came across a painting. The painting was of the city of Positano. He said he saw it in one of the shops on the island. I tried on the internet to get a listing of shops in the area or art galleries. Cannot get a thing. Was hoping that someone could help.
Thank you..... His Loyal Assistant |

| Positano | Where to watch the June 12 World Cup Match - near Positano Posted: Tue May 9, 2006 07:51 PM UTC
Hello all-
We will be in Positano June 10 - 17 on our Honeymoon and we are absolutely thrilled that we will be in Italy during the World Cup. Italy's first game is June 12. We would love to go someplace where a large number of people will be watching the game so that we can cheer along and join the excitement. Is there any place near Positano that any one would recommend to enjoy the match? Do Italians go out to sports pubs to watch matches the way Americans do? Thank you! |
