We are taking an Oceania Cruise in May 2008 and will have a day in Positano from 8am and sail at 6pm. I have no inyerest in shopping in the town. We would like to go to Capri as our daughter did last fall. Would it be possible to get from Positano to Capri and back by 5pm to be sure we make our 6pm sailing. I saw one posting that told of an excursion from the Positano Beach to Capri and back. It left Capri at 4pm. How long is the return boat trip? Thanks.

With so many villas and cottages to choose from, are there any recommendations for a nice cottage for two to three people in Poistano? Of course we would like for it to have a great view.

Just wondering if anyone has any information on Palazzo Belmonte, it's a castle in Salerno, Italy and I went to the website and it looks amazing. I am hoping to have my wedding there. Will be going to Positano this spring. Are there specific lookout points where you can get a nice picturesque view or is it that every corner/ street you turn into has a beautiful view? Are there lots of steps to go from one alley to another? What type of souvenirs can i find ? What's the weather like in May? Thank you for any advice.

Sometime after August 18th, we lost our camera in Positano and will pay a reward of 50 Euro for the return of the camera card! We bought a new camera..so this does not matter to us...just the pictures.

What is the quickest time to get from Naples train station to Positano? We will be arriving in the afternoon of 6th October and travelling to Positano. I've also heard that there are porters at the ferry terminal who will take the luggage to your accommodation. Those steps look a bit daunting to drag your cases up. Also, does the Sita bus go passed via della Tavolozza, 5. I think that's it for now.

I am renting a cottage in Positano in May and want to know if its easy to get fresh food (especially fish) there or nearby so that we can cook it in our cottage.

About a year or so ago, I read a post from a woman in another forum who had been to a restaurant in Positano with spectacular views and that had lemon trees growing in it.

She was enamoured with this resturant and I remember thinking at the time, that the restaurant looked divine. Unfortunately I didn't write the name down and we will be in Positano for my 40th birthday in May (I feel so old, hopefully I don't look it) and I would really LOVE to go to this restaurant for my birthday.

I have seen a photo of La Zaglia or a name like that in the restaurant tips here, and I don't think that's it.

If someone knows the name of the restaurant, I'd really appreciate it.

My college roommates and I will be traveling from Rome to Naples by train this May and would like to head to Positano from Naples. We thought we'd like to take a ferry. Could anyone give us precise instructions as to how we do this and where ferry docks are located and such? Thanks.

We will be goinfg to Italy in August and we will be staying at Villa Uliva its about 3.5 klm from positano. Anyone stay there or familiar with it. If you know about it it would be great if you could give us an exact location so we could find it on google earth.
