Positano Rome to Positano
Posted: Sat September 12, 2009 02:51 AM UTC
I am reading some of the posts regarding travel from Naples to Positano. I am planning on taking the train from Rome to Naples. Getting on another train to Sorrento then a bus to Positano sounds exhausting!! Viator.com advertises $29.13 for van ride from Naples train station to your hotel in Positano. This now almost sounds to good to be true. Has anyone used this service?

Positano rome to positano
Posted: Mon August 31, 2009 05:30 PM UTC
We've dropped Pompei from our journey and think from what has been posted the the best way to get to Positano is by train to Sorrento and then the SITA bus to Positano. However, is there a direct train from Rome to Sorrento or do we have to take two. Thanks

Positano traveling through Amalfi Coast with carsick-prone children
Posted: Sun August 23, 2009 03:45 AM UTC
My family and I are planning a trip to the Amalfi Coast in June. We would like to base ourselves around either the Sorrento or Positano area. My one daughter tends to get carsick and I know the roads there are full of twists and turns. Does anyone have any travel suggestions for me regarding where to stay and what roads/forms of transportation are best so that we can make my daughter's experience as pleasant as possible? (Dramamine pills are definitely coming with us!)
Thanks!

From CAPRI, I will leave in the evening and travel to ROME. What is the best way to do this? HOw far is the journey? Cost?

Positano rome to positano thru pompei
Posted: Sat August 1, 2009 03:30 PM UTC
What is the best way to get from the Rome airport (FCO) to Positano and then return, stopping in Pompei on the way to Positano? Would want to experience the Amalfi coastline. Does renting a car make sense? We have a hotel room in Positano for two nights so figure one day to travel to Positano with half day in Pompei. We are going Labor Day (sep 3) '09.

Positano Romantic restaurant in Positano
Posted: Wed July 29, 2009 06:00 PM UTC
My wife and I will be in Positano to celebrate her 60th birthday, in last week of August. Can anyone suggest a restaurant that will be memorable for her - good food, exceptional atmosphere, prefereably outdoor seating, and possibly arrange for a music band to serenade her. If it's expensive, it's ok - she is worth it!

grazie,
Jim

Positano Trying to remember....
Posted: Thu June 4, 2009 04:33 PM UTC
We were in Positano in 2004, and enjoyed Music on the Rocks and Max's Restaurant (correct name?), among many other places. Now a friend is going in August and I would like to remember the names of more places:

Restaurant: Near Ristorante Max either on Via dei Mulini or on Via Christoforo Colombo, on the way down to the beach from the main road. "Gated" outside patio dining with greenery all around and, as I recall, some live music.

Nightclub: About 25 minutes or so away from Positano, built into the rock with glass floor in places to look down into the sea. From what I recall, located in an inlet of sorts. Very unique structure...a surprise at every turn as you walk through.

Any guesses on these?

Thank you!

Positano AMALFI DRIVE ROUTE
Posted: Thu May 14, 2009 04:54 PM UTC
I will be tendered from sea to Positano and want to do 'The Amalfi Drive'. I would like to go one direction by public transportation and return via ferry to Positano. I have read some places that parts of this drive is one way. If this is true, in which direction is it one way? I also heard that it is a steep hike from the road up/or down to Positano. If true, what is the easiest route? Thanks. Jerry

Positano Early morning travel from Positano to Naples
Posted: Tue April 28, 2009 10:24 AM UTC
I will be staying in Positano for a friends wedding in early June this year.

I have seen much advice on how to get from Naples to Positano but little about the return trip.

I need to be at Naples airport at around 10am on a Thursday morning.

Is this possible via public transport or am I going to need to get a taxi or hire a car instead?

Any advice would be most welcome

Thanks

Positano Getting married in Positano
Posted: Wed April 22, 2009 12:34 PM UTC
My fiance and I are getting married the end of May - on the terrace of Hotel Marincanto. We were wondering about where to go afterwards to celebrate Italian style. Are there any customs in Italy we should be aware of. It will be just the two of us - someplace for dinner that is romantic and fun. Thank you so much!

We will be traveling to the Amalfi Coast in the mid fall, and need some help in finding a nice 3 or 4 star hotel. We would like a hotel that has great views, not to many steps and serves breakfast. Convenient to shopping and good restaurants.
We plan to take the train from Naples to Salerno than get a taxi to wherever we find a hotel.
Please help I have looked at so many hotels on the web I am lost. Thanks.

Positano day trip from positano to capri

We are taking an Oceania Cruise in May 2008 and will have a day in Positano from 8am and sail at 6pm. I have no inyerest in shopping in the town. We would like to go to Capri as our daughter did last fall. Would it be possible to get from Positano to Capri and back by 5pm to be sure we make our 6pm sailing. I saw one posting that told of an excursion from the Positano Beach to Capri and back. It left Capri at 4pm. How long is the return boat trip? Thanks.
