Hainan Places to stay at Shimei Bay?
Posted: Thu September 17, 2009 12:31 AM UTC
Hi there,

Im am going to Hainan End of October for a few days to relax at the beach.
I heard that the Shimei Bay is very nice and not so much touristic.
Can't find any hotels on the internet which are on the beach. Only the huge Méridien. Doesn't need to bee that fancy for me.

Thanks for tipps for places to stay!

best wishes,

Sanya Beaches in Yalong Bay and Sanya Bay
Posted: Sat August 2, 2008 05:36 PM UTC
Hi, my family and I are planning to take a few days vacation in Sanya at the end of August. The hotel descriptions aren't very clear as to how far the beaches are. Can anyone tell me how far the beach is from the Crowne Plaza Hotel or the Holiday Inn Hotel in Yalong Bay?

The Holiday Inn at Sanya bay says it has a beach front, is this beach good, or should I stick to Yalong Bay?

Thanks.

Sanya Sanya
Posted: Sat August 2, 2008 04:33 PM UTC
Hello VT’ers

We are thinking of Sanya for one month from mid October-mid November.
Can anybody tell me if the weather is good then or should we move the dates back or forward a few weeks.
When is the busiest time for tourists, is there a time we should try and avoid?

Also can anybody recommend a 3* or 4* hotel as we have no idea where is good/safe to stay?

Thanks

Hainan Sheng Visa requirement
Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 03:20 PM UTC
We (6 of us) are planning a trip to Hainan Island in early September. Heard that we may not need a China visa but am not sure about it. Do any of you Vters know anything about this ruling and how do we go about applying for it. Can we just fly in and apply for an entry pass? We will be there for 6 days.

What will the weather be like in September? Will it be easy to arrange for some transportation to take us around? Are there buses from Haikou to Sanya and othere points of interest? We are also looking for hostels in Haikou, Xinglong and Sanya.

Thanks

Hainan Sheng Any general Suggestions about Hainan welcomed
Posted: Fri February 8, 2008 11:11 AM UTC
Hello VTs,

in May we (7 People) are planning a 5-day Holiday on Hainan Island/China. I would like to get a draft orientation of the Island. Which direction (North, South, East, West...) is recommended for a beautiful beach Holiday?

We are looking for places with less Western Toursits and Hotel prices at local level.

Our tour starts in Guanzhou Area. How can we get to Hainan from Guanzhou when NOT using Plan or Bus? We prefer either Train or Boat. Any recommendations?

Thanks for your suggestions and experiences.
By the way, I speak fluent Cantonese, so communication should not be a problem...

Ciao,

Sanya How could I go to downtown/Dai Dong Hai Bay area from Kempinski Hotel by public transport?
Posted: Fri August 31, 2007 03:11 AM UTC
I'm thinking of staying in the newly built Kempinski Hotel this Christmas. But since the hotel doesn't provide any shuttle bus service, does any one know if there's any public bus running to and from the Kempinski Hotel area to downtown of Sanya and to Dai Dong Hai Bay also (cos I want to go to the 'Spring Garden' seafood market for meals)? May I know the bus no. and is it running frequently? Is the bus stop near the Hotel? And is the same bus no. going back to Kempinski Hotel area also? Where should I take it when I am in downtown?

Besides, any good massage centre (traditional chinese massage and not spa)in downtown also? What's the name and how do they charge? Many thanks!
