We're planning a visit here soon (this month or next), along with Changsha, Chengdu, and JiuZhaiGou.
Any thoughts on how long is needed to enjoy ZhangJiaJie? We'll likely arrive in the evening, so we can start early the next morning and are wondering if one day is sufficient, though we prefer a liesurely pace.
Also, we're still trying to figure out the best route for our trip to all these places, looking at flight costs and so on. Right now we're thinking of starting in ZhangJiaJie (flying there from Beijing)where we can then go to Changsha, Chengdu, JiuZhaiGou, then back through Chengdu to Beijing. If you've done a similar route or have any thoughts on this, please do share!
I wish to have couple of homestay in Zhang Jia Jie and also "miao zhai" during mid of June.
- Do you have any recommendation to me? How much? email address to contact?
- Is there only Southern Airlines reach Zhang Jia Jie airport? any other airline option?
- what kind of transport most suitable to go on? should we rent a car, motorbike..?
- we wish to go for hiking? any recommendation?
- is it hot during mid of June?
Wondering if anyone could offer travel experience in Changsha. Where are the 'must-visit' sites? Heard about Fenghuang gucheng and zhang jiajie and the famous spicy cuisine, embriodiary too. Any reasonable-priced hotels you can recommend, in term of location and cleanliness? safe to travel alone there? Advisable to take public transport from airport to town? Appreciate all your help.
Please can somebody suggest a hostel or cheap hotel in Changsha. I have stayed in Changsha before but i was unhappy with the service and prices of the 2 hotels.
I need to visit again in a few weeks and have spent hours searching for hostels and hotels but cannot find a single bed for under RMB158 I normally pay about RMB70 in most towns but Changsha seems to be the most expensive city in china.
Perhaps I am searching in the wrong place.
A hostel dormitory would be great. Anywhere in or around Changsha is fine as I am quite happy to use the buses.
Thanks for your help.
Gary.
Hi. Can somebody please help with the detailed instruction of how to get by train to Changsha from Guangzhou and how to book for train tickets on line. We are getting the bus from Macau to Guangzhou. Much thanks.
My wife has a physical problem and cannot climb hills for extensive period. She can do mild climbing. If we go to Zhangjiajie, do we need to climb a lot of steep hills? Are there porters who can carry her over more demanding places?
I will be traveling to Hengdong (South of Changsha), Hunan, China this summer and have a few questions. Where would be a good place to stay? What would be some things to see in the area? Would it be worth it to take the train there as we would be coming form the Guangzho/Hong Kong area? Or take a plane to Changsha and than a bus/van to Hengdong? Any other advice by those who have visited or live in the area would be appreciated. Thank you.
I've booked myself a 5-day tour to Hunan province over the Chinese New Year holidays (late Jan. 2004), namely to Changsha and Zhangjiajie. However, I'll be taking the tour by bus originating from Hong Kong. I'd like to know:
-specialty snacks or products worth purchasing in Hunan province -are there a lot of steps to hike up within Zhangjiajie -special types of food unique in Hunan province -weather in late-January (will there be snow in the mountains of Zhangjiajie
