Hi , we are a couple from uk early 40's goin to Pattaya for the 1st time.We will be there on 24th dec for 14 nights. Could anyone please tell me where to go on first night just to get my bearings .Not really that shockable but dont need bein fired at with pingong balls on night 1.

My girlfriend & i are spending xmas&newyear in Pattaya, never been before. Could anyone please tell me what the Royal Orchid hotel is like (good or Bad).We are in mid 40's & looking forward to seeing what Pattaya is all about. Can someone please tell iv not dropped a bollok bringing her here.Doin the usual 3nights in Bangkok first so need transport on 24th dec to Pattaya is taxi best?

We have now booked our flights to Bangkok arriving 8th Jan - 30th Jan. We will probably stay in Pattaya/Jomtien area for a week, then travel on. Would be grateful for any advice on places to go on from there, ie travel/accommodation details plus any costings, on a bit of a budget so not looking for 5* accommodation. We have already been to Bangkok and Ko Samui.

Coming to Thailand in January, haven't been to the Pattaya/Jomtien before, hearing mixed reports on the area! Will it be a nice place to holiday for 3 weeks, is the beach nice, been recommended to stay in Hill Beach Hotel just on the outskirts, beach bungalows basic but cheap. Can anyone give me any info on the above and maybe a few names of recommended bars and restaurants in the area.

How is the weather during that time? How long would it take?
How do you get to Pataya from BKK cheaply?
Is Pataya different since the Tsunami in terms of beaches resport, night clubs etc.?

I will be traveling to Pattaya in mid-december and will be there for 2-3months. I would like some recommendations for an apartment near the Carrefour mall area (Central and 3rd rd) for that duration of stay. Ive been to pattaya last year and stayed at an apartment near southern part of 3rd rd (soi 17) and paid 6000 baht per month (including AC,tv, electricity, water). Are there any apartments near the carrefour vicinity with similar price range..(less than 8000 baht)?
Not need to be a fancy room..just basic amenities (TV, A/c, water, electric, shower) and safe, clean area..

Hi All,

We will be staying in Sheraton Pattaya and it supposed to be a little away from town. Are taxi readily available in town to go back to the hotel even late at night? How much should we expect to pay? Or should we hire a driver for the day so we don't have to worry about not being able to get taxi on the streets? Also, can anyone recommend a nice spa in town? Any other suggestions to activities/restaurants would be appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone ever got a limo from bangkok to pattaya.

As the hotel transfer car is way to small etc.

If so have they anything limo services they recommend.

Hi I'm going to Thailand next feb for a short and sweet break. Been to thailand quite a few times but never been to pattaya. Can anyone recommend a good hotel. Basically I'm after somewhere I don't have to walk to far to the nightlife. Not to worried about beach as will get beach fix on ko samet but a nice swimming pool would be good. I also need somewhere thats not noisy. Thinking around 2000 - 2500 baht a night.

Hi thinking of getting transfer direct from bankgok airport to pattaya or jomtien, does anyone know the distant time cost from the above to ko samet. Only going for a week so don't want to spend too much time travelling.

Hi, My husband and I willbe in Bankok for 3 nights in middle of October. We would like to be in Sukhumvit area and we wondered if anyone had stayed at the ROYAL ASIA LODGE in Soi 8 or the SWISS PARK HOTEL Soi 11 recently. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Suzy

hi vt members, stayed in the rabbit resort this year and thought it was perfect location , unfortunately , the rabbit has put its prices up by quite a lot next year so was wondering if anyone knows the name of a decent hotel on the same strip of beach as we really liked the idea of stepping a few paces across the small road to the beach

I'll be going to pattaya in Nov and my main queries are:
1) Are there baht buses that travel to area Jomtien? If so, where can i see the routes that these 'buses' take?
2)Are there boats that depart from Jomiten beach? Where? And how much?

I've made my bookings at Grand Jomtien Palace. Anyone to update on the situation of this hotel?

Is there any Porter in bangkok international Airport for hire? How much should i pay the Porter?since i have heavy bags and suitcase with me

Hi guys, I was just wondering if its true that asian nationals chinese/indians/lankas etc are refused entry into most of the clubs and bars in pattaya?? also you are ignored by most of the ladies if your brown skinned. is this true? as i've not really heard about this kind of thing in bangkok!

My wife and I are in Thailand again in October and for the first time we want to spend a few days in Pattaya. We are looking for a hotel that is quite central and in not too noisy an area, with easy access to all the attractions.
I have been given the names of three hotels and I would appreciate any comments as to their suitability. They are
Areca Hotel.
Pattaya Bay (2nd Road/Soi 15)
Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments
I have mobility problems so I don't want to be walking too far.
If anyone has any other recommendations about hotels I would appreciate their advice.
