Hi. My husband, 11 year old son and I want to spend 3 or 4 nights in the Cinque Terre area. I've heard Rio Maggiore is good to stay. Have you any ideas about quiet, nice accommodation? Thanks

When we were in Cinque Terre last July, we spent a great deal of time at night at a bar in Riomaggoire. The bar played all 80's music and one of the owners, Franka, danced with us every night. I seemed to lost her email address to send her pictures. Does anyone happen to know of the place I am speaking of. I believe it was called Bar Tabacci or something. Any help would be appreciated. My sister and I will be visiting Cinque Terre at the end of October, 2004. We are looking for the best way to get from Milan to the Cinque Terre area (we haven't chosen a particular village yet) and back again to Milan. Any tips on the best way between these locations? Any favorites among the five villages?

We fly into Milan-Bergamo airport around 16h00 on a Monday and out around 12h00 on a Thursday. Does it make sense to stay closer to Milan on the last night (in Milan or Genoa for instance) instead of trying to get back from Cinque Terre or is transportation available early in the morning and reliable enough to count on?

If we stay in Genoa, does anyone know how long it would take to get back to Milan-Bergamo airport or perhaps just to Milan (we can find our way to the airport from there)?

We are looking for a nice camping near 5terre. Any recommendations?
Did anybody walk other trail than the coastal one? There are supposed to be two more, middle and upper trails which connect Portovenere and Levanto. How is the view? Are the “open” or run in a scrub and forest which prevent from seeing?

Looking for a reasonable place that will house 6 adults for a week in Sept. Any contacts??

I was contemplating a trip to Italy over Christmas and New Year's, and I was wondering if anyone has spent New Year's Eve in any of the Cinque Terre towns, and could tell me how it was. I'm also concerned about whether I would be able to find accomodations easily, last time I visited I was able to find a great apartment in Riomaggiore just by walking down the main street, but I'm afraid everything may be booked because it's New Year's Eve. Thanks!
