| Ko Samui | Chaweng Bay View Resort Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 03:48 PM UTC
Hi, I'm visiting Koh samui with 7 other ppl. Looking out for a 4 bed room bungalow/house. Came across Chaweng Bay view Resort,
What is your opinion on this resort? Is there any other locations where we can get a house with 4 rooms? Also is CBVR in a nice location - convenient to the nightlife and restaurants? |

| Ko Samui | Travel Koh Samui to KL by train Posted: Sat April 19, 2008 01:29 AM UTC
I need help with trying to work the trip back from Koh Samui to KL and we have chosen to go by train (as Berjaya Air are the only direct flight and their flight on the Sunday is too late for our International connection)
Can someone please assist with the times it would take for travel: 1. From Hotel Cheongmon Beach to Ferry 2. Ferry Trip back to mainland 3. From Ferry Pier to the train station Also will it be safe to leave booking this train until we arrive in Thailand?(10 days before) Any input on the train / train trip would be appreciated. There will be one couple and 2 single guys travelling together. Thanks in advance.. |

| Ko Samui | Hotels and bargains, or not? Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 12:54 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm in Samui on the 5th May, have only booked a room for the first 2 nights as most hotel reviews are so mixed. My question is, will there be plenty of rooms avaiable this time of year and will I get some good deals. Was in Phuket last year and got stuck in a horrible hotel as the place was heaving, though it was in Jan, peak time. Will be trying to visit a few beaches in Samui. Thanks for any comments left, John |

| Ko Samui | Best Beach Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 01:51 PM UTC
I'm coming to Ko Samui with my girlfriend in May and was wondering if anyone can give an opinion on what the best beach to stay at is. We're looking for something calm and romantic but not too quiet with a lovely clean beach. Also reading other posts there seems to be a big issue with mozzies here, I am very susceptable to being bitten at the best of times and was wondering what the best advice is not to get bitten?

| Ko Samui | Maenam beach Samui or Phangang. Posted: Thu April 10, 2008 10:42 AM UTC
We will be spending 9 nights on Samui from May 30th and was going to do 4 nights Chewang and 5 nights Maenam beach with a day trip to Phangang.
Would it be better to spend more time on Phangang and less at Maenam beach Samui? Thanks, Den. |

| Ko Samui | Samui: Queries Posted: Wed April 9, 2008 08:13 AM UTC
Hi
We're heading off to Samui on 30th April and back on 4th May. We have a few queries and hope that you guys can assist. We will be staying at Anantara @ Bo Phut. 1) Repellant - saw a couple of tips on this. Is it really that bad there? I read that mossies are everywhere .. are they even on the beaches? 2) Bikini - I'm quite large in size. Over here in Singapore, they don't seem to sell bikinis which will fit large size bodies. So my question is, are there any surf/bikini shops in Samui which I can get my bikini and wont cost me an arm/leg? 3) Tailoring - what's the cheapest in THB terms anyone has paid for a work shirt to be made in Samui? 4) Any good/reasonably priced travel agencies which we can arrange for daily trips around the island? |

| Ko Samui | Where in Koh Samui/Koh Tao for couple in 50s Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 12:23 PM UTC
We're a young minded couple in our early 50s and going to Koh Samui and Koh Tao in June and are wondering which resorts to stay in. We like some nightlife and particularly enjoy a live band but don't really want to be surrounded by partying travellers. We're going to Koh Tao for snorkelling so the clarity of the sea is more important than the nightlife, though we don't want to be in the middle of nowhere! Koh Samui we've narrowed down to Chaweng, Lamai or Bophut - any suggestions as to which would suit us best? And are the taxi charges as bad as I've been reading? For example, if we choose to stay in Bophut, how much should we expect to pay for a taxi to Chaweng?

| Ko Samui | Transfer in BKK to Samui Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 07:49 PM UTC
Is it still possible to have luggage checked through form Europe to Samui (transfer in BKK) and then clear customs there? Do I have to do immigration formalities at BKK or possible to that on arrival in Samui? I have been told there has been some changes after the opening of the new Samui airport, but not sure if this imply baggage and immigration.

| Ko Samui | Info please...... Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 03:01 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
We're going to Ko Samui as part of our honeymoon in a couple of weeks. We're staying at a Bophut resort. Can anyone advise what the best way to get around the island is? Is it the same as other parts of Thailand - tuk tuk?? Also we want to see the Big Buddha and the famous rocks while we're there, are they far from Bophut where we're staying? Cheers Rach : ) |

| Ko Samui | Elephants! Posted: Tue February 12, 2008 07:44 PM UTC
Hi, will be going to Ko Samui in a few weeks time, and wanted to know if I could see any elephants? I love these animals and would like to know if they do rides? Are they well looked after and treated well too? I couldn't go to a place if they were badly treated either, as I would be too traumatised. Thanks for any replies.....

| Ko Samui | The Waterfront Bophut. Any info please Posted: Sun February 10, 2008 10:23 AM UTC
Hi,
We have read a huge amount of reviews about this hotel on other forums. Most of them were excelleant. However recent ones were negative and inferred that others may be inaccurate or indeed may have involved some input of the owners (being diplomatic here). Just wondered if anybody had ever stayed there. Many thanks Charlotte |

| Ko Samui | Has anyone ever stayed at Jariya Bungalow? Posted: Sun January 20, 2008 10:39 AM UTC
I found this website (http://www.jariyasamui.com/). I found the website quite by chance (can't really remember how, I was drunk) and noticed the check-in dates are for two to three years ago. The rates seem reasonable enough, anyone know anything?
Incidentally location wise, it's on the northwest of the island on Bang Po beach. Cheers, Jim |
