Hotel Suggestions? Posted: Sat December 6, 2008 01:42 PM UTC
I will be in Chiang Rai in early February and would like to get some suggestions for a nice, well-located hotel. So far, I have looked at the Legend, the Anantara, the Dusit, the River House, the Suanthip Vana, and the Golden Pine on the Internet, and they all look nice. Any feed-back based on personal experience would be very helpful. If there are others that you would recommend, I would like to hear about them, as well.
Thank you.

Help! Transfer from Chiang Rai City to Chiang Rai Airport Posted: Mon November 20, 2006 10:15 AM UTC
Hi everyone
I tried searching everywhere for information on getting transportation to the Chiang Rai Airport but couldn't find any.
My group of 7 will be taking a flight to BKK next month at 0820 hrs, meaning we got to be at the airport at about 0700AM perhaps.
Can anyone tell me whether it'll be easy to flag a taxi off the street to take us to the airport, or do we have to arrange in advance?
I also couldn't find many guesthouses located in Chiang Rai near the night market. Can anyone put me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Rey

Car hire Chiang Rai Airport Posted: Wed April 5, 2006 03:54 PM UTC
Hi chaps,
Does Anyone know the cheapest daily prices for booking a car at Chiang Rai airport or downtown Chiang Rai.
I've seen a few online booking agencies and wonder if it's cheaper just booking at the airport. Or maybe it's cheaper waiting until I get to downtown Chiang Rai?
Any help would be appreciated.

Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai Posted: Sat August 27, 2005 03:00 AM UTC
Hi Frens,
I am planning a 4/5D trip to both Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Anyone can answer the following questions? Planning for 1 nite at Chaing mai and 2/3 nites at chiang Rai.
1. 1 full day at Chiang Mai (elephant riding, bamboo rafting, etc), then nite time visit night bazaar. Is one full day sufficient for this?
2. From Chiang Rai , how can i get back to Chiang Mai? What is the frequency and how much is the fare?
3. Anyone heard of someone called Eric ? He is a member of the virtualtourist, offering home stay at his house in Chiang Rai for 580 Bht per night. Any comment on it? Or any other homestay recommendation. We are on shoe-string budget.
Thx,
MK

Chiang Rai Akha Village Guesthouse! Posted: Sat August 2, 2003 10:29 AM UTC
Hi could anybody shed any light on the Akha Village guesthouse about 20ks from Chiang Rai for me. THe brochure presents it in a very positive light as a charity that gives most of its profits to the village people. I was all set to go but came across a leaflet in my hostel claiming to be written by the villagers themselves. Said they recieve nothing from the guesthouse and tourists should boycott the place on the grounds it is a have for drug dealers etc. Which propaganda should i believe can anybody help asap if possible as running out of time up here. Thanks TOmmy
