Hot Springs and elephant treks Posted: Sat October 3, 2009 08:02 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
Just wondering, Im not too keen on organised tours, is it possible to rent a motorbike from Ao Nang to make the trip to the hot springs and emerald pool, or would I need to rent a car for that trip?
Also, although its not my cup of tea, my partner wants to do an elephant trek. Does anyone know which is better - the one near Ao Nang or the one on Ko Lanta? i.e better experience, better treatment of elephants, nicer trek etc etc?
Thanks for your help!

We are a family of 3(daughter with 15 years old) and plan to visit for the first time Krabi for Christmas holidays. How busy is this place during this period? What is the average price for eateries? Are there many restaurants and what type of culinary? Is seafood expensive during high season? Just for reference, we have been to Phuket,Koh Chang,Pattaya,Hua Hin,Cha Am,Bangkok,Koh Samed,Koh Phi Phi and the last time Koh Samed.

Speed Boat from Krabi to Phi Phi Posted: Tue June 30, 2009 12:52 PM UTC
Will be arriving in Krabi on Sunday 27th Dec late afternoon (possibly 16.00hrs or later). We need to get to Phi Phi as we are booked into a hotel there but unfortunately I have noticed that the last ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi is 15.00hrs. Does anyone know of any other ferries/speedboats etc that leave later than 15.00hrs. Any info, (websites etc) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Railay accommodations at Christmas - please help! Posted: Sat June 27, 2009 03:37 AM UTC
Hi,
My husband & I will be in Krabi at Christmas and we were hoping to stay in Railay. The hotels are pretty expensive, especially since they are charging an obligatory Christmas Eve dinner ($2000 - $2500 Baht each). On top of that, I've been reading reviews on Trip Advisor and many people have mentioned "bed bugs" at the Sand Sea Resort - does anyone know if this is true??
I really want to be in Railay, but would Ao Nang be a better option? Is it easy to get from Ao Nang to Railay, especially for those wonderful sunsets I heard about? It would be great to hear your thoughts and if anyone knows of any great bungalows in Ao Nang (under 1500 THB), that would be much appreciated
Thanks! K.

AoNang Paradise Resort - (Krabi airport to hotel) Posted: Fri June 19, 2009 07:31 AM UTC
Hey all
We've just booked to stay at AoNang Paradise Resorts for 3 days next week.
The address is 25/18 Moo 2 | Aonang Muang, Krabi 81000, Thailand.
The hotel's pick up service cost THB600 but it sounds a bit too much for 40mins journey considering we paid THB300 in Bangkok from airport to hotel for about same distance.
Are there many meter taxis outside Krabi airport like in Bangkok or not? Or is THB600 a fair deal?
Many thanks!

Nopparat Beach vs. Ao Nang & others. Posted: Mon May 11, 2009 09:19 PM UTC
I'm wondering where in this area I should book a hotel. I'm with my wife and senior parents. We are looking to stay about 6 days in the Ao Nang area. I'm looking at Nopparat Beach as a reasonably quiet, relaxed, beach front spot to stay with esy access to boats and taxis to the town (ao Nang)and surrounding areas. Any comments or recommendations of hotels would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hotel recommendations - Railey Beach West or East? Posted: Mon March 2, 2009 09:14 AM UTC
We are staying 3 nights in Krabi in march, and we're not sure wether to stay on Railey Beach East or Railey Beach West. We heard that the West beach is the most beautiful, but it looks like the hotels there are more expensive. Any recommendations for a nice, not too expensive hotel?

Krabi to Phi Phi to Phuket Posted: Sun March 1, 2009 10:12 PM UTC
We are planning to end our 2-week Thailand-trip in Krabi, staying there for 3 nights, then take the ferry to Phi Phi islands and stay there for 1 night, and then continue to Phuket, where we are flying back home.
Does anyone know the ferry times and rates from Krabi to Phi Phi islands, and from Phi Phi islands to Phuket? Will the sea be rough in march? Also, which ferry terminal in Phuket will the boat from Phi Phi islands arrive at - and how far is it from there to the airport, and is taxi the best way getting to the airport?
We also need advice on a nice and not too expensive hotel in Krabi and Phi Phi.
