Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 07:33 PM UTC
Hi Everyone. We are going to Bangkok next week 11/14/09 and would lke to make some reservations for a dinner cruise and the Siam Niramit show. Found some great prices on hotels2thailand.com but I can't find anyone who has used that site. Since they require a credit card I'm a bit concerned. Does anyone kow anything about that site? If not ,any suggestions on those two ventures?

Thanks for any help you may give, Princesscat

Bangkok Recommended locations/places for New year eve (2009)
Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 10:03 PM UTC
Hi,

I am going to Bangkok between 28th Dec 2009 and 2nd Jan 2010.

I am wondering whereabout are the best places to celebrate new year eve 2009 with local people?

Some people said it is by the river. some said it's Siam square etc.

I couldn't verify those but I ask people here if they know the best places to count down and celebrate the new year celebration in open air (no, not interested in those clubs).

Many thanks!

Cheers,
D

Bangkok serviced apartment with 2 bedrooms
Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 02:05 AM UTC
Hi! We're travelling to Bangkok with our 3 kids by the end of January 2010. Can anyone recommend a reasonable 2-br apartment in a convenient location? Is anyone familiar with Abloom Serviced Apartments? They have very reasonable rates (free night for a minimum of 4 night stay) but I'm kinda worried about the location.

Bangkok Recommendation for hotel room near Suvarni Airport
Posted: Sat October 31, 2009 06:55 PM UTC
Hello. I'm arriving at Suvarnibhumi and have only one day in Bangkok before flying out to a neighboring country so would like a room at a nice hotel or guesthouse closer to the airport but which is still close to maybe a cinema/movie theatre. This time I don't need to be in central Bangkok and would prefer to avoid the 'traffic'. My preference is below 1,200B, if possible but am willing to pay more if the amenities are well worth it.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Friends, this is Goutam Mitra from Kolkata. We are a group of 5 ( four adult and a kid) would be visiting Bangkok for 8 days from 3rd Jan to 10th Jan. Though we have many places in our mind to visit. We are reaching BKK at 12 NOON on 3rd. We would like to see Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Floating Market, Chao Praya river cruise, almost all the wats, Bangkok Museums, Royal Palace, Royal Museum, Boat Museum, Safari park, Pattaya only for a day, Thai Dance drama, etc . In other words we would like to explore the city and surroundings as much as possible. We are not interested to see the sex related shows like Alcazar, Pat Pong shows etc. We have drawn many itinerary but joining the VT forum is obtain help from some expert Bangkok travelers, who can suggest me as what we can see day wise to explore the place. Could someone help me to draw a day wise itinerary to explore the place? I would like to spend the first day exploring the city and wats if possible.
We would also like to have a small VT meet with like minded people in Bangkok. Our VT Archeologist friend Pattayaraj would be joining us for a day!

Thanks to all of you for responding in advance!

Bangkok Baiyoke Tower II qns
Posted: Mon October 19, 2009 03:12 PM UTC
I tried to find info on Baiyoke Tower II but not much info abt the interior.
I gather from the forum that says that there is a public observatory on the 77th floor, may i know whether we need a fee to go up there?
And what time is it close? what is the best time of the day to go up there)

Also, i saw some1 mentioned abt a bar called "Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge" on the 83rd floor, and a 360-degree revolving roof deck on the 84th floor.

Is the drinks at the lounge expensive?

Can we just go up the tower just to see the view or we must dine or drink there

Lastly where is it located? Is it near Novotel Siam hotel?

Bangkok Where to stay in Bangkok
Posted: Thu October 15, 2009 06:01 PM UTC
Hi
What do you reckon is the best place to stay for 3 nights in Bangkok, with good transport links. Khao San Road seems the obvious choice, but is there anywhere better? Not looking to flash loads of cash, but also not necessarily on the tightest of budgets either. Any ideas? You don't have to be exact, just a rough idea of a location and then i can get on tinterweb to research further.
cheers.
