Fraud at the Post Office in "Thong Sala", Koh Pha Ngan Posted: Sat September 8, 2007 04:07 PM UTC
Since approximately 3 months, certain employees of this post office have an anormal behavior when you brought to them a postcards to stamp and to send.
Before, the employee given to you the stamps and It was you to stick them and give the postcards for sending.
But since a certain time, when you claim the stamps for your postcards, the employe took your money and he asks you to give your postcards to him while making you understand that it would stick even the stamps.
I send regularly the postcards towards my country and I realized that my postcards had never arrived their recipients since approximately 2 months.
Not just one time ! But several and at different dates.
It's a mystery ! But we advise you to stick your stamps yourself before giving the postcards to the counter.
If someone has had the same problem, If someone has had the same problem, let know it to us.
We are thinking that this people make a traffic with the money and they throw the postcards

Purple Pill From Pharmacy right on Haadrin Beach - ALLAM 1.0???? Posted: Fri September 7, 2007 02:09 AM UTC
I've recently discovered a mystery pill in my first aid kit from travelling. I brought it from a little pharmacy right on haadrin beach, (opposite Cactus Bar), along with some Valium
They said it was like valium but stronger - its a small oval purple pill, with ALLAM 1.0 imprinted onto it - no where on the net has anything about this, and just wondered if anyone knew WTF it is?
Any info is appreciated

Where to stay in Oct? Posted: Mon September 3, 2007 06:17 PM UTC
I have read mixed reviews about where to stay in Koh Phangan during Oct. I will be there from the 9th to 21st of Oct 2007. I have read somewhere that the SW monsoon is active during my time of travel. If so, is it best to stay on the West or East side of the island during that time, I would like a swimmable beach. I heard to stay away from the west side of the island during that time. BTW I am not a budget traveller, but I do not want to spend over 2500 TBH/ night. I need recommendations on what side of the island to stay and maybe recommendations on nice beach front resorts.

Accomadation for 5 people Posted: Wed August 8, 2007 04:42 PM UTC
Hi!
I'm going to Koh Phangan for New Years and finding it very difficult to find accomadation for 5 people. All I can find are places for 2 people and the odd place for 4 people. Does anyone know of any self catering apartments or villas? We're not really picky as long as it's relitivly clean, it doesn't matter if it's far from the beach,
Thanks!

First time to Koh PhanNan Posted: Thu July 12, 2007 08:09 AM UTC
Hi,
I am coming to Koh PhanNan in August for the first time and staying at The Sanctuary and Mai Pen Rai Bungalows.
While on the island, can anyone recommend some ‘must-see’ spots/ places of interest and also some ‘must-avoid’ spots?
Also, where is the best place for seafood on the island?
Is there a preference of who to go with for some serious snorkeling?
I would also like to experience some of the culture while staying. Any ideas/advice?
One last thing. How is the best way to get around?
Thankyou in advance!!!

Phangan to AngThong Marine Park Posted: Tue May 8, 2007 07:28 PM UTC
A trio of us will be in Phangan in August.
have read postings abt Angthong but most depart from Samui.
was wondering if there are trips from Phangan to Angthong marine park?
if there are, how much do they charge?
is the trip better from Samui compared to from Phangan?
how long would the trip be?
would like to avoid stopping at Samui as we are going to Koh Tao after Phangan.
thanks.

Secluded Bungalow Accomodation - Help!!! Posted: Tue March 27, 2007 02:06 AM UTC
I have been looking extensively for a nice bungalow in Koh Samui that is right on the beach (ie - you can stay on the waters edge, not just seaviews)but that is also secluded or private (ie - not bungalow next to bungalow). In Koh Pan Gnan, I found 'The Sanctuary' resort which is similair to what I am looking for in Samui. Can anyone help me please? I am going in mid August. My budget extends to around 3500/night.
PS- If not on waters edge then definately with great views close to the beach, but some privacy and seclusion is a must - cheers!!!

Which Beach?? Posted: Fri February 23, 2007 11:15 AM UTC
Is it true that Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach is the best beach on Phangan.
I am after a calmer place to say with my family.
I am having trouble finding acom on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach to fit us all but have other options on Baan Tai Beach, Haad Yao, Haad Salad. These other beaches have cheaper options for me but would I be dissapointed to miss out on Thong nai Pan???
I plan to spend a most time swimming etc.
Am going in early July.
Thoughts anyone??

Chilled out beaches around 'The Sanctuary'? Posted: Thu January 25, 2007 10:16 AM UTC
Hi guys,
We are going to be on Koh Phangan for the April FMP and are looking at staying at 'the Sancutary'. We have been told that this is a really chilled out kind of place, where people just do their own thing and the whole place has a magical feel?
Our friends told us that the beach there is the nearest thing to Ibiza, where you can wear as little or as much as you like and nobody cares?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thong Sala Football Where? Posted: Sun January 7, 2007 06:43 PM UTC
My girlfriend and myself will be visiting Koh Phangan in February for 2 months. We will be staying near Thong Sala. Looks great but I worry about not seeing any prem football. Is there a bar in the area that shows the football and maybe six nations rugby. I'm not going to cancel the holiday if not, but any info would be gratefully received.
Many thanks and see you soon
