Sahthiya in Ko Phangan or Santiburi in Koh Samui for honeymoon? Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 02:29 PM UTC
Hello All, This is my first time posting on this forum. I hope to get some feedback about these 2 resorts. I am planning my honeymoon in Thailand and wanted to know which of these 2 Resorts are more luxurious. I am looking for a quiet romantic 7 day trip. I looked through the pictures for both resorts and I love the vibes I am getting from Santhiya. Fro several reviews I gathered that Santiburi is also really great but I feel the rooms in Santhiya or Melati are much bigger and many have attached private pools. Whic of the 3 resorts would you recomend for an ultimate honeymoon getaway?
Santhiya
Melati
Santiburi
Thanks!!!!

Samui - Koh Phangan Boat Services... Posted: Sat June 20, 2009 10:51 AM UTC
So I will be arriving into koh samui on July 5th at about 7:30pm by the Bangkok Air flight from phuket. can I take a boat/ferry across to Phangan at around 8-8:30pm ? as far as i can tell, the last boat leaves at 6:30pm to KPN. is there a private speedboat i could take at night (8:30ish)? approximately what should be the cost ? I don't want to spend the night in Samui, but if there is no other option, i guess i'll have to.
i'm gonna be there for about a week beginning july 5th, so if anyone else is travelling around the same time and wants to get in touch, feel free! :)

Recommendation for villa or bungalow with two rooms? Posted: Thu May 14, 2009 09:21 AM UTC
Hi, we're 3 guys heading to KPN for the FMP in July. We're looking to split up into two rooms. Are there any good recommendations for villas or bungalows that have this type of accomodation.
We're not picky, just two rooms with the option of twin or queen/king sized beds and a/c. Budget is probably around 1500 to 2000 bht. Also, we're also looking to stay the minimum of 3 nights only (2 nights seems impossible but if anyone knows pls share) as we don't have enough leave.
Also if there's recommendations for 2 rooms/huts/houses side by side not in a single bungalow or villa we're open as well. Our sole purpose is the FMP so I guess we want somewhere not too far from Haad Rin.

Ko Tao or Ko Phangan? Posted: Tue April 14, 2009 08:32 AM UTC
We will be travelling to Thailand in August this year with our 3 children (9,7,4) and wanted to go to either Ko Tao or Ko Phangan? We would like to do snorkelling and a bit of diving (not much) and were wondering which island would be better. I heard that Ko Tao's beaches are not that great and that is already ver commercial. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Cheers, Eva

Koh Phangan - Tha Thong Posted: Sun February 1, 2009 05:24 PM UTC
I heard there is a speed boat from Koh Phangan to Thathong. Can anyone tell me more about this or where I can find information?
We traveling at the end of March and are traveling with a small child. We also need to catch a plain at about 13h00 at Surat Thani airport to bangkok.
If anyone has information about the best and easiest way to get to Bangkok, that is also welcome.
And last, does anyone has any info about "J.S. Hut Resort" on Koh Phangan?
Thanks.

Does anyone know if there is boat to go from Koh Phangan (Had Rin) to Koh Samui (Big Buddha Pier) early in the morning about 7am? Because I have to catch a flight on 10:55am in Koh Samui airport.
and by the way, do you know how can I book accommodation in advance for 4 nights in Koh Phangan when all the booking websites requires minimum 5 or 7 nights reservation?
Thanks!!!

Where to Stay on Koh Phangan for snorkeling & relative quiet Posted: Sun January 4, 2009 03:29 AM UTC
My wife and I will be on Koh Pha Ngan in late Jan./early Feb. (leaving well before the full moon party), and we're trying to figure out which beach areas in the northwest, away from the port and far from the party zone is best. Looking for places that are good for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, hanging-out, etc. Anyone with suggestions for beaches and/or mid-range bungalow places with or near good basic Thai food??
Thanks a lot!!!

Where do I Stay?? Posted: Thu November 27, 2008 11:26 PM UTC
Hello everyone...
Right i am finding it hard to book accomation in Koh Phangan for new years eve.. I want to check in on 31st dec and stay for 2 nights but every hotel/huts has a minimum restriction of how many nights you can stay for such as 5 nights or how many days before new years eve you have to check in by.. I do not want to stay for 5 nights but 2 then head back to koh samui!! Does anyone know anywhere to stay where these rules do not apply and is near or not to far from the full moon party??
Thanks
Ryan

new year accomodation Posted: Wed August 6, 2008 12:06 PM UTC
hi,
me & the wife's off to phangan for the new year from the 29th dec to 4th jan. thing is we cann't seem to find any reasonable priced bungalows in haadrin willing to book us in.
we've been to many full moon parties there but never for new year.
we usually stop outside haadrin but we have some friends booked into coral bungalows but they are now full (for bookings for these dates at least).
will we be able to find anywhere when we get there or will we need to book somewhere out of haadrin.
we are willing to pay upto about 1500bht per night.
thanks,

accommodation Posted: Mon July 21, 2008 01:54 PM UTC
hey everyone, there is a group of 13 of us travelling to go to the full moon party, just want to know what is a really good resort around where the full moon party is held, there is no real price restrictions but nothing really over $80 a night as we still want something nice on the beach. Also how is easy is it to travel around the island, and how do you make your way from the resorts to the beach where the full moon party is held?? is it possible to hire quad bikes and cruise around that way?

Please note it was me that left the message blow, I'm not crazy I just but the town Haat Yi instead of Haad Rin.
By the way Haad rin is a strange oul place well it was wneh i was there plenty of rodents on the streets....

Travelling solo and looking for accomodation Posted: Tue January 29, 2008 05:02 PM UTC
I'm a 28 yo female and will be travelling to thailand solo in April and want to head to Koh Pha ngan for the Full Moon party on the 20th. I'd like to book in advance since it will be during the full moon. I will be there for 5 nights so the 4 night minimum stay wouldn't be an issue. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for accomodation - looking for some place safe, easy to meet other travellers, convenient to get to the party, but easy enough to have some peace and quiet when i do want to sleep...
While I'm there, I'd also like to visit Koh Samui and Tao and possibly the marine park; want to do some snorkelling and perhaps diving. Any recommendations for what else there is to do on the Island or around there?

Travelling Koh Phangan to Samui-please help? Posted: Wed November 21, 2007 09:27 PM UTC
I am planning to be in Koh Phangan in Decemeber 2007.
i have heard that sometimes the water can be very choppy in regards to travelling from one island to the other& wanted some tips on getting from Phangan to Koh Samui.
does anyone know a suggested boat company that goes from Koh Phangan to Samui at that time of the year? and if so, how many times a day do the boats depart?
do the trips need to be booked in advance or can tickets for the boat be bought on the day?
any advice is greatly received..thanks!
