| Ko Phi Phi Don | Phi phi villa resort - July Posted: Tue June 26, 2007 10:48 AM UTC
Me & my boyfriend will be staying at the phi phi villa resort for a week in July. We r looking forward to some quiet time and most of all the trips to all the islands and snorkeling. I have read really bad reviews about this resort but I have read bad reviews about most of the resorts (apart from phi phi village resort - of course because its much more expensive!!!), so if any one has stayed here please give me your good feedback, i do not want to know the bad things anymore, they are just making me nervous & worried. Everything is in walking distance I believe because its soo small and is there a variety of foods/cuisines to choose from?!
What else would you recommend doing whilst we are here? Thanks Livi |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | 'Best way to see the 'sights'? Posted: Sat June 23, 2007 10:42 AM UTC
My friend and I are staying here for 4 days and want to spend a day seeing some of the islands and generally spending some time at the sights and do some snorkelling. We are aware of day trips and that you can hire longboats for this. We don't want to be too rushed so I guess we'll probably go for the longboats but how much should we pay? Are there any tours that are worthwhile? We don't want to spend too much money if possible. Any suggestions will be welcome

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Phuket to Phi Phi Don Posted: Fri June 22, 2007 10:16 AM UTC
HI VT'ers - we are arriving in Phuket town at around 9am - and want to get over to Phi Phi Don as soon as we can.
Do we need to wait for the regular ferry, or are we better off renting a private boat to take us there ? What is the cost of a private boat vs the cost of the regular ferry ? Thanks. |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Should I be doing this... Posted: Sat June 2, 2007 11:53 PM UTC
Hi, I'm trying to book 4 nights (some special offer) in Phi Phi Villa Resort at the moment. However, they want me to email them my credit card details to book it. Now obviously I'm aware that this would be a bit silly to email someone credit card details but then again this must be the way many other guests have booked their rooms. Has anyone stayed there before, and if they have how did they pay? Any anecdotes / advice would be very welcome.
Thanks |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | 4 days at Phi Phi Island Village Resort? Posted: Wed May 23, 2007 12:18 PM UTC
Phi Phi Island Village Resort is requiring a four night minimum during high peak season after Jan 1 08. This isn't an issue, but I want to make sure this is the right place to stay if I'm going to be here this long. Anyone stayed there? Would this be the right spot for a couple wanting some quiet time? If not, where could we find that?
Thanks in advance. |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Private Speedboat Question or something to do... Posted: Tue May 22, 2007 11:17 PM UTC
Will be arriving in Krabi in the morning on January 1, 2008 - will have a large gap in between the morning ferry and afternoon ferry. Should I rent a private speedboat to take me to the island from Krabi, or is there something to do in between the two ferries? We'll have suitcases, etc.
If speedboat is the option, how much does that run for 2 people? Appreciate all help in advance. |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Holiday Inn to Tonsai on foot? Posted: Tue May 22, 2007 11:37 AM UTC
Can you walk from the Holiday Inn resort to the main hub in Tonsai, or do you have to take a longtail boat? Also, do the longtail boats operate in the evenings, and , if so, until what time at night? We want to stay at the Holiday Inn, but would like to be able to get into town for bit of nightlife now and then.

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Accomodation recommendations Posted: Sat May 12, 2007 06:20 AM UTC
I'm going to stay in Phi Phi for 4 days in June and have looked through all of the hotel tips but there seems to be so many options. I am looking for somewhere costing under 1000 baht, in a fairly central location, near the beach (but not necessarily on it), and a safety deposit box would be quite important. Can anyone recommend somewhere that they've stayed that might be suitable for me?
Thanks in advance. Will |

Hi everyone,
I'm arriving in Bangkok in early June and I wanted to go to Phi Phi island. I don't know much about it. I don't know how to get there. I don't know how big it is, or where to stay. I just want to relax for a couple of nights and go kayaking and snorkling. Enjoy the day, and relax at night. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Moe |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Phi Phi Bayview Resort Posted: Wed April 4, 2007 11:41 PM UTC
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has stayed at this resort. I have read a lot of bad feedback, but just wonder if people are expecting too much for the price they are paying? We pay $AU150 a night to stay in a self contained unit, with no bedding, towels or any such luxuries on our holiday island off Perth. So, $AU52 a night seems extremely reasonable. Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers :) |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Pls recommend me accommodation on Phi Phi Island Posted: Sun March 4, 2007 10:47 AM UTC
Hi All
We are looking to spend 5 nights on Phi Phi Island in early July 2007. Happy to spend 3,000 THB per night for our accommodation. I'm thinking that will get us something pretty nice. Our fairly simple needs are: Right Next to Beach No More than 10 mins from 'central' part of island (ie pier, restaurants) Comfortable clean rooms Can anyone suggest me a hotel ? Thanks !! Craig |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Travelling from Ko Phi Phi Don to Ko Phi Phi Ley Posted: Tue January 30, 2007 11:03 AM UTC
Hello!
I'm going to be staying in a hotel near Long Beach on Ko Phi Phi Don during Easter. One of the things that I must do is travel over to Maya Beach on Ko Phi Phi Ley. I've heard that you can either get a longtail boat, or hire your own boat. Does anybody have any information about these such as whether you need to book, how frequent the longtail boats are, or whether you need a liscense to hire a boat (my boyfriend has a basic one from sailing as a kid)? Also, do the longtail boats leave from Long Beach, or would we have to go to the ferry point? And if we have to get to the ferry point, is it possible to walk (we're staying right at the end of Long Beach)? Sorry, this is a bit of a long question! Thanks to anyone who can answer! Lauren :) |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Phi Phi tours Posted: Wed December 27, 2006 10:00 PM UTC
Hello! I will be staying in phi phi for two nights, and want to see things such as maya bay, phi phi ley, bamboo island, viking cave etc. However on the internet, I can only find tours that depart from Phuket. There doesnt seem to be any tours that depart from phi phi itself. Does anyone know the name or details of any tour companies that are based in phi phi, and that depart from phi phi? Or should I just risk it and try to book something when I arrive in phi phi? Any suggestions would help!
Thank you. Rachel |

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Where should I stay? Posted: Thu October 19, 2006 09:46 AM UTC
Hi there,
Im heading to Thailand in a couple of weeks and was hoping you might have some advice on where to stay on Koh Phi Phi. I have been to KPN, KS and KT but never to Phi Phi, I will only be there for 4/5days after a scuba trip. Is it possible to get a "rustic Thai bungalow" near a nice beach but also close to the action in Tonsai. Budget is fine, I dont want a flashy resort just a nature escape with a bit of Thai nightlife and dining. Is this possible? Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks Christine |

my fiance and i are planning on honeymooning in thailand in mid-oct. we just want some quiet time on an uncrowded beach with some decent swimming and snorkelling. what can we expect in terms of weather on phi phi at that time? i had read somewhere that even if its not raining, the water may be too rough for decent swimming. would kho phagnam be a better choice for us? what about koh lanta? any suggestions?

| Ko Phi Phi Don | Ferry boat or speed boat to Phi Phi?? Posted: Mon August 7, 2006 12:10 AM UTC
Hey everyone,
Planning a trip with my family in October/Nov to Thailand & Australia. One of our destinations is Phi Phi. My sis has been there before on her honeymoon and they had a bad experience with the ferry boat (crowded with almost no place to sit and pouring rain, toilets in bad condition) so she is recommending that this time we hire a private speed boat. However, I just read that one of the posters on the forum was recommending the ferry boat as she had a v. bad experience with a private speed boat, so now I'm lost. I would like to know other ppl's opinion and experience, keeping in mind that the speed boat is an expensive alternative so is it worth the price or not? Would appreciate anyone's recommendation for a good speedboat deal in terms of a comfortable trip and affordable rate (the best rate she has gotten so far is 10,000 Baht for the 6 of us). Also, would appreciate if anyone could post the exact schedule times of the ferry boat as it's possible we will be forced to take a speedboat if our flight does not arrive in time 2 catch the ferry boat. |
