Salerno Travel from Salerno to Cava deo Tirenni
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 03:51 AM UTC
Hello;
I will be vacationing in Praiano this coming September and I would like to visit friends in Cava dei Tirreni. I know there is a bus that goes along the coast to Salerno, but is there a train from Salerno to Cava? My friends live in the old part of cava. I would appreciate any travel tips. Thank you

Salerno where to get a tattoo in salerno/the amalfi coast
Posted: Sun January 20, 2008 07:48 AM UTC
I will be in Amalfi in early/mid May and am thinking of getting a tattoo while there (I already have several, so this isn't a new thing) - does anyone know of a particular (reputable) place to go or have tips on choosing a place (i.e. uses new, sealed needles) and what prices start at in general? Is there any tipping protocol?
Any help here is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Salerno amalfi coast and Hurculaneum
Posted: Sun September 9, 2007 07:11 PM UTC
We will be on a cruise in October that will be in the port of Naples for one day. We would like to see Hurculanueum and the Amalfi coast. It seems like that would be a tough trip on a good day. Our ship offers this tour (Pompeii instead) plus a lunch too. I think it would be a very hurried up experience. We want to spend less time eating and more time exploring the sites. We think doing the sites on our own will give us an oppertunity to see more of what we want to see. The only problem is trying to figure out the traveling modes. From what I can tell the train to Serrento then the bus to Amalfi will be at least 2 1/2 hours one way (total of 5 hrs of just riding) We then don't have time to see Hurculaneum. The Metro del Mare is about 2 hour one way but I can't figure out the time schedule from their chart. Any help would be appreciated. Is a shorter route Via a Northern way. Train to Salerno then bus to Almafi. Can this be done? Is it worth it.

Salerno TRAVELING FROM SALERNO TO ROME?
Posted: Mon June 18, 2007 03:34 PM UTC
We are actually staying in Massa Lubrense and doing a day trip to Capri. When returning to the Fiumcino airport in Rome...I see one way is to take a taxi or a bus from Massa Lubrense 2 miles from Sorrento and leave from Salerno on Rail Europe to the train station Rome Termini then get on the Leonardo Express train to the Fiumcino airport in Rome.

Would anyone recommend a more efficient route? I realize I can also travel from Sorrento to Naples and Naples to Rome using the Circumvesuviana and the train from Naples to Rome. Just concerned about the number of connections.

Salerno Driving and parking - Amalfi Coast
Posted: Sat January 27, 2007 12:33 PM UTC
Hello there!

I have done some questions and I thank you all for helping me to plan my next trip!!

I haven't decided yet if I want to drive along the Amalfitan coast or if I want to travel by public transportation from one place to another...

I'll be staying in a hotel in Sorrento for 3 nights that is quite far from city center (6km), but there is a bus station in front of the hotel. While staying in Sorrento I want to go to Capri for one day and on the other day I want to go to Pompeii, Positano and Praiano.
Then I will spend one night in Salerno. While staying in Salerno I want to go to Amalfi and Ravello...and if time remains Paestum.

Are the roads too scary as people say?! Will I enjoy the ride even if I'm driving?! How are the parking facilities in those cities around the Amalfi Coast? Would you recommend me to drive or to use the public transportation?

Thank U!!!

:)

Salerno any recommendations to stay at salerno?
Posted: Mon August 15, 2005 09:19 AM UTC
hey,
we're going from sicily up as far as rome and we were thinking of staying somewhere near naples for a few days and using this as a base to travel around the region. i have heard bad things about naples was just wondering if salerno would be a good place to stay over a night or 2 and travel to pompeii/ vesuvius /herculaneum/ salerno beach (ww2).or does anyone have any other ideas of where would be good to stay around here. we are students aswell, so accommodation would hopefully be cheap. Thanks for any help you can give.

Salerno Apartment/Room in Salerno
Posted: Wed August 3, 2005 06:18 PM UTC
I'm looking to rent a room in a house or an apartment for a male student at least a year in Salerno Italy beginning August 2005. I would like to move in the next week if possible.

If anyone knows of any place to look, or knows of a place available, I'd be extremely grateful. I'm looking to spend no more than 250 euros.

Thanks a bunch!

Salerno Salerno to Sorrento transportation
Posted: Mon April 25, 2005 06:51 PM UTC
Does anyone know of a boat or bus service that runs from Salerno to Sorrento? As far as I can tell the only way to do this is to go via Naples, which seems a bit out of the way. Many thanks, Martin.

Salerno How to travel
Posted: Sun August 29, 2004 06:00 AM UTC
My husband and I are coming from Rome to Naples on the train. We will continue on to our hotel in Castellabate, south of Salerno. We want to visit places around the area...Amalfi Coast, Pompei, the National Park, etc. Can we do this with buses and trains, or do we need to rent a car? If we decide to rent a car, can we get one in Salerno, or do we need to get it in Naples? I hate driving in the bigger cities.
I am so excited to visit this area of Italy.
