We are travelling up to KL on 11th May from Phuket and were planning on just showing up and booking somewhere to stay then - is this feasible here? We're after air-con bungalow, preferably close to the beach.

Hi, I have travelled to Thailand lots of times Phuket, Chang Mai, Bangkok etc but never been to Khao lak or Koh Samui( the other choice ). We love patong beach and have stayed at Merlin, Duangjitt, Club Andaman but Patong is just too busy so our group is looking for somewhere like a littke Patong, Do people think Khao Lak or Lamai or Chaweng. Is there shopping at Khao lak ?
What would be a nice hotel like the above mentioned ones there. Also it does appear that Khao lak and Samui is more expensive then Phuket? We will be travelling with a group of 18 couples, we like to have evening drinks and relax by pool and go shopping. Thanks Gregg |

Hi, please could someone advise is it better to go to Khao Lak or Koh Samet.
I love the beach and sea and wanted to be at the most beautiful beaches and water and what time of the year is it best to go. Thanks guys Ashley |
