Will be in Yamanashi for a couple of days before Christmas (23/24 Dec). Is it possible to go to the top of Mount Fuji at that time of year?

Does anybody know if the restaurant Villa Afghan is still operating near Kai-Oizumi Station in Yamanashi? Thi s is one of our favorite restaurants of all time, located near our cottage in Oizumi, Yamanashi, we used to eat their curry just about every time we went up to the cottage.
