I'm looking to stay on Minna-Jima for a few days at the start of August, and I'm having trouble finding accommodations. Does anyone know of any hostels or hotels on Minna-Jima? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd be very grateful if somebody out there could provide me with useful infomation regarding the usual weather late December on the Kerama Islands as we plan spending a few days there at the very end of december, likely in zamami jima.
Is it possible to dive, because it seems very windy ?
What's the water and air temperature like?
Is there anything to do (like trekking, visiting, hiring a motorbike?)
Any good ryokan to spend a couple of days on the islands?

Hi, I'm travelling to Okinawa in late December early January and since it's winter there, I'd like to know approximately how long it would take to drive from Naha to Cape Hedo. I am planning to stop at the Hiji Falls on the return trip. Is it possible to do both of these in one day? If so, do you have any other suggestions for stops on the way which would be worthwhile?

Hello, I'm going to Oki in the coming Oct-Nov with my relatives, brothers and sisters.

We live in a big city with plenty of nightlife and options, and we are wondering if there's some nice place for people of 25-30 years average for dancing of for a drink. If possible, not for foreigns we want to meet the locals even with our poor Japanese speaking.

Where can I go online to reserve a car to pick up at 9pm (when we land in Naha) and has a site that is in english? I noticed budget says they are closed at 8pm.

In taking the bus from Kadena to the airport, will the driver help with luggage [1 bag]? Is there a luggage storage place in the side of the bus?
Where does one catch the bus to the airport from Kadena Base?

i plan to go to okinawa in this winter. can i swimm there in the winter? what abouth the clima and temperatures?

Where is Okinawa City? Is it the former koza or some other place. When I was stationed there, there was an area ouside the main gate of Kadena Air Force Base. Is this it? Please define by location.

I'll be in Okinawa for a week and a half in October and want to spend one day on an outlying island. I was thinking Kume...where would you go? I'm thinking somewhere with beautiful scenery, maybe snorkeling, shopping, site seeing? Definitly a ferry ride away that won't take the whole day (and we'll be able to catch the ride back in the evening)

I have just recently moved to Okinawa and was wondering about hitchhiking around the island. Do people here pick up hitchhikers? Are the majority of the beaches available for camping? Are there any really cheap youth hostels? I`m talking about below 2500 yens. I would be thankful if anyone could help me answer these questions.

Please advice as my family and I are moving to Okinawa for 3 years.

My husband and I teach at Universities in the Chubu region. During the summer break we would like to rent a room or a small house on the Kerama islands where we could write up our research articles while still being able to enjoy some kind of vacation. Does anybody know of anyone with a spare room or an unused second home who might be willing to rent it out?
Alternatively does anyone know of any cheap minshuku with internet access?

We are traveling to Japan for the first time, (the usual Tokyo to Kyoto tourist route), but want to end up with a relaxing, beach/snorkeling location before returning home.
Is simple snorkeling (from the beach) possible, or will we have to take boats/kayaks to snorkeling spots?

This may be a silly question: all the pensions and minshuku offer board with two meals...where can we go for lunch!? Also, I should be going to Tokashiki (most likely Aharen) before summer high season, does that mean not everywhere will be open?

Does anyone know of a diving operation on Tokashiki who will take me and my husband diving: I speak rusty japanese, and think I could cope with instructions in Japanese, but my husband speaks none. I had a friend who learnt to dive on Tokashiki with not much Japanese, but that was quite a few years ago..

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help and advice!
